“Located in Joelton Plaza Strip Mall. Limited parking spaces in front, more parking in back. We drove 35 minutes to try this place. Nice dining area. Very friendly staff. Be patient cuz there is only 2 people. Prices are great, especially for people on limited income like us. Support this small cafe. It’s hard to find places with good home cooked food that won’t break you. If we lived closer we would love to eat here more often. Honestly it’s like eating in grandma’s kitchen. All the food we had was great.“

“This was my first time to Big Al's, but it won't be my last. It's a cozy restaurant with great service by Big Al and his son. I had the cheeseburger. It was so well seasoned and was huge. I also got the mashed potatoes which also was delicious and made in house with potatoes.Next time I'm going to try the meat loaf. I saw it on someone's plate and it smelled a loved so delicious and was so huge. The portions here are amazing.Thanks for the great lunch Big Al“

“This place doesn't look like much outside and the inside isn't much better....BUT the service and food are 5*! The biscuits and sausage gravy are legit some of the best I've had and I live in NC. Forget the appearance and check this place out, you won't be sorry! It's also very reasonably priced!“

“Best vegan food I've ever had! I don't like a ton of spice and the sweet heat strips were perfect! The strips are crunchy and full of flavor, inside is seitan. Employees are very friendly and they ensure everything is very cleanly! Great music playing, mainly table seating, there is a couch and a few comfy chairs for waiting. “I was invited here for a birthday party. The restaurant was nice. If was open with plenty of seating. The atmosphere was cool. It did strike me as different from other restaurants that are similar because the servers only delivered the food after you ordered from the register near the front door. This wasn't bad after I realized how they operated. The food was good even though i thought the sides were a little small. The tables need to be rebalanced because some were unstable. Parking was ok, but you have to scan to pay before you enter or you might be booted or towed. Parking wasn't expensive but it does depend on how long you stay there. The existence overall was good and I would suggest giving it a shot if you're in the area.“

“We loved this place! I recently went here with my friend this past Monday night to celebrate her birthday. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the nicest hosts and seated in the center of the restaurant, which was ideal and no prior requests were made. The ambiance was elegant and very welcoming. You’re surrounded by great hospitality and art once you enter and as you continue your experience, it just gets better. The food and cocktails were amazing and, we also met other guests that were also having a wonderful experience. Our server was amazing I believe her name was Maryland (sorry if I remembered incorrectly) and we were taken care of with so much kindness. Once we got close to the end of our meal, they sent out a complimentary birthday ice cream and also there was a “Happy Birthday” sign when we first got seated. We had other guests join in to sing to her and it truly was a wonderful dinner. We will definitely be coming back and want to emphasize that this is a night that will be remembered. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. Not under seasoned or over seasoned, just perfect! All the employees I encountered were also friendly! I recommend this place!“

It doesn't look like much on the outside and is very small on the inside (only room for about 20 patrons) but what it lacks in beauty and size, it makes up in delicious food! I had the biscuit sandwich with egg, cheese, sausage and bacon along with hash fries. The wife had French toast with bacon and a biscuit. Fantastic!!! Biscuits are light and fluffy. You have to go if you're in the area. Biggest drawback is that you may have to wait, but it will be worth it!!!“

“Oh man, this chicken, I don't think I'll be able to say the right words to describe it. It's incredible ❤️❤️❤️. I went here for the first time today for lunch because I was having a hot chicken craving. The menu was simple just the meats and a few sides available. There were pictures and descriptions of the spice level on the wall owith a note saying no refunds for heat levels. I ordered medium, feeling like a safe choice and the woman double checked that I was ready for that spice, so I had a feeling it was going to hit pretty good. She also let me know everything is cooked by order so it would take a bit. I had my toddler with me, but they had a large connect four and he was fine waiting with me. It didn't seem to take that long and my food arrived. Medium leg quarter, fries, Cole slaw and a drink. The spice on the chicken was amazing. It created this crust with the breading that was hard and crunchy, without being greasy at all and the chicken wasn't dry. Not only was it not dry, it was some of the juiciest fried chicken I've ever had. The fries were lightly spiced and crinkle cut, the Cole slaw was cool and delicious, a sweet mayo based that helped cool off the fire in my mouth. I ate every single last bite, not even the tiniest bit chicken left on any bone or any crunchies left on the plate. I didn't take any pictures, but I checked their Instagram after eating there and the pictures were a perfect reference for what I got. I am normally a Bolton's gal and have been for over 10 years, but this chicken has made me question my loyalty. I will be back and often.“
