Always a treat, only French toast my wife will eat.
Great place and even better food.
Had breakfast there twice, honestly the best breakfast experience during our 2 week trip and the best French toast I’ve ever eaten, no hyperbole!

Based on the reviews, Barksdale's is a neighborhood diner with a dive feel and a fascinating history. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is dedicated, with servers who looked like they have been doing this for a very long time. The menu features good ol' fashioned diner-style comfort food, including country fried steak, Western Omelets, egg biscuits, and an All American. The hit everyone had to try was the stuffed French Toast, which is massive and delicious. The griddle cakes with homemade honey butter are highly recommended, and the pancakes are loved by guests. The food comes pretty quickly, and everyone is very happy with their food. A small nitpick about the watery coffee is noted, but the food and friendly neighborhood service more than make up for it. Barksdale's is a must try for breakfast or lunch in Memphis and is considered a neighborhood staple.
