Paulette's Restaurant Reviews
good food and great service. We just ate here but definitely interested in the hotel
I've lived in Memphis for over a decade, but have never tried Paulette's until today. And what a delight it was! From the elegant décor, to the melt-in-your mouth, piping-hot and tender popover with fresh strawberry butter, my experience was top-notch from start to finish. In addition to the fabulous popover I had, another standout from my meal was the mixed greens salad, made special with its dried cherries, toasted pine nuts, fragrant shallots, and tart cherry vinaigrette dressing....read full review

Paulette's Restaurant is a popular spot in Memphis, known for its welcoming ambiance and attentive service. Servers like Alan and Rose help create a friendly atmosphere. The cuisine is consistently well-cooked, with standout dishes including shrimp and grits, steak, chicken crepes, and crab cakes. The French toast is also highly recommended. Customers enjoy the Monday night specials, which offer good value, though portions can sometimes be small—satisfying for some, but perhaps not for everyone. The Sunday brunch before matinee shows at The Orpheum is also popular. Visitors have noted that service can be slow during busy times, leading to longer wait times between courses. The heat and humidity in Memphis sometimes cause discomfort, but staff quickly address issues like A/C condensation. The atmosphere remains quiet and friendly, making it a good place for special occasions such as anniversaries or Mother's Day. Some reviews mentioned a smaller wine list and cheese plate, but overall, the dining experience remains enjoyable. Recent visits highlight great food and cocktails with a beautiful sunset view from the Terrace, and outstanding service from waitresses in both areas. While some dishes like chicken piccata may differ from expectations—featuring crispy chicken in batter instead of the traditional sauce—guests still enjoy the quality. The restaurant's traditional popovers and strawberry butter continue to be favorites, even as some menu items like spinach crepes are missed.
