“We had a beautiful anniversary dinner at The Barn during our stay at BlackBerry Farm. The four course, farm to table menu had so many delectable choices. We ended up with a spread of lamb, NC trout, and a myriad of gorgeous vegetables and tantalizing sauces. The service was attentive without being overbearing and the modern barn decor had great ambiance. This was a one of kind special meal that we won’t forget!”

“First poor experience, but will still recommend and support. I, along with my husband and three kids, visited The Heavenly Roast on Saturday morning the 20th before heading back home. This is a favorite place of ours and we visit whenever we are in town. My husband visited a couple times during the week. We’ve always been supportive of this business. We absolutely love the chocolate peanut butter Frappuccino - no one does it better! When my husband visited the day before, he ordered the chocolate peanut butter Frappuccino blended with the mocha frap plus a shot of espresso and it was fantastic. We asked Saturday morning if they could do that and cashier worker said yes and typed in “Mocha blended with peanut butter.” We assumed it was what we wanted. We also ordered egg bites and a breakfast burrito. When our two 24oz fraps were ready, they don’t look right but I tried one - it was not what we wanted. I went back to the counter and kindly said, “I’m really sorry but this is what we wanted.” That’s hard to do but with the price of the drinks, we wanted what we wanted. The barista (reddish/maroon hair, middle aged, glasses) was rude and demeaning. She said, “Uh yes it is…mocha with a scoop of peanut butter powder.” I clarified we asked for chocolate peanut butter frap blended with mocha and shot of espresso. She went on to say (harshly) that I ordered wrong and what a waste it was. She held up the one we hadn’t tasted and announced to the other customers, “We have a wrong customer order…does anyone want this for free…it’s a good drink.” She said she’d make what we wanted when she could get to it. I was apologetic and thankful. I sat down and just cried. I felt embarrassed and horrible. She treated me so poorly. When it was ready, I went and got it and we hadn’t received our egg bites and burrito yet so I mentioned it and she snarkily replied, “We’re a little busy. I’ll call you when it’s ready.” I just sat and cried more plus our drinks were missing the shot of espresso but I didn’t dare say anything about it. It was a hard ending to our week. We will still be back.”

“We are locals and have driven by a million times but never stopped. I’m glad we did. The food is absolutely amazing! My husband ordered the Ruben, my daughter had the smash burger, my little one had a hot dog and Mac and cheese. I ordered the pesto chicken Philly and it was amazing. My little one refused to eat her favorite hot dog and took my sandwich. I’m so glad to have found a new place to eat. The service was so friendly and welcoming the food was delicious. We were happy with everything. We will definitely be going back.”

“We came to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, and every single moment of our stay was exemplary. As someone who has worked in the service industry for over 15 years and has had the privilege of visiting top hotels and resorts around the world, I can confidently say this experience left me completely in awe. Sophie and Holly greeted us with warmth and professionalism and continued to be incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness made all the difference. Our driver, Noah, was a standout as well. We were so impressed by how much he knew about the area, especially considering he’s relatively new—his passion and knowledge added such a thoughtful layer to our experience. Kathleen, who led our horseback riding excursion, deserves a special shoutout—12/10! Not only was she hilarious and personable, but her stories and historical knowledge of the farm and the Beall family were fascinating. It’s clear she deeply cares about the animals and the entire riding program, and the way she spoke about the family made it clear the staff are genuinely valued. The spa was a dream. When our riding ran a bit long, the staff kindly adjusted my appointment times so I didn’t feel rushed. The massage and facial were just what I needed, and the spa design—natural woods, calming blues—was straight out of a design magazine. Pure tranquility. Bridget at the pool was so helpful in making sure we didn’t miss out on any must-do activities, which made planning so much easier. And Liam went above and beyond—effortlessly adjusting our plans last minute, organizing a perfect box lunch, and even slipping in a few of the famous lemon cookies (which were a hit!). Lastly, Winston and Cole guided us on a fly fishing adventure we’ll never forget. With a perfect mix of instruction and humor, they had us casting like pros in no time—and catching fish with huge smiles on our faces. Every person we encountered made our stay feel personalized and special. We left relaxed, full of stories, and already dreaming of our return.
