“This is an excellent ramen shop. I've been to Japan many times. I've eaten at award winning shops in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. This Tonkatsu is excellent. The owner is the perfect embodiment of perfectionist high energy Japanese business owner. His food is excellent, he cares deeply, and he is extremely attentive. I'm going to say this again very bluntly: I have had Ramen in Japan all over.

This is authentic. This is what you get in Japan, exactly. The Menma, the Beni shōga, the Tonkatsu, all of it is exactly what you would have in Tokyo in the afternoon any day.

Some may complain because they're not from Japan and they want to haggle or want something else maybe more for less... But this is REAL, this is authentic as it gets.

If you don't want to spend 13 hours flying to Tokyo, I promise this is literally what it tastes like. This man is a saint. You should thank him and eat here.

“I have been so patient with waiting for the opportunity to finally try this ramen place! They opened up and by the time I had the chance to go they were temporarily closed. Needless to say I am very excited that they are finally open again! If you live in the 4 corners area of Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Plano you know that there's slim pickin's of GOOD ramen places around. I promise you that this one is so worth it!!! I placed an online order for take out and it said "ready in 20 min." I kid you not I walked into the building right at the 20 minute mark and the man was stapleing the bag to my order closed. Talk about precise! The man working told me that there weren't any bean sprouts in my ramen order because so they weren't fresh, to compensate he gave me an entire order of 4 veggie rolls. What?! Love that level of customer service! Plus, I was debating on even getting the veg rolls and now I'll always order them because they are delicious! Sushi was always amazing and the ramen was so good! The only adjustment I'll make to it next time is to ask for my miso veg ramen it a little spicy. My husbands spicy ramen was PLENTY spicy enough. He loved it!!! Now everytime I have a ramen craving we will be at Kuma!“

“Staff was extremely friendly and professional. This was our first time coming here, and we will definitely be coming back! We started with the fried calamari that was perfectly cooked, and the sauce complimented it perfectly. We ordered 3 different bowls of ramen that did not disappoint at all. My wife had the veggie ramen, and our son had the kids ramen, which was surprisingly big, and I had the beef ramen. The beef fell right off of the bone and had amazing flavor. We ordered a California roll and a Monster roll that was packed full of flavor. This is our new favorite spot in Mckinney. I would and will highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bowl of ramen or tasty sushi rolls!!! Thank you, Hokkaido, for an amazing meal! We will see you again soon.“
