I have eaten at El Patio for years. I always eat the cheese enchiladas sometimes with rice and beans. The paper thin corn tortillas and chili con Carne and the "commodity" bring back memories of my youth.I miss "Mama" Joseph and her girls but atmosphere is still Old Austin. The tortillas did not seem quite the same but the enchiladas were still excellent.
I’ve been a fan of El Patio for over 40 years and now my adult kids love it as well. The menu is basic and has been that way since the beginning. I love sour cream chicken enchiladas, but you won’t get them here. I love El Patio for what it is and it’s become a destination for my family every time we are in Austin. I am glad the family has continued the tradition and I’m willing to suffer a few “bumps in the road” to have it around.
