“My initial visit to WOW Poke left me disappointed, especially considering the restaurant's high recommendations. It was all a very frustrating customer service experience. I had placed my order around 4:30 PM, and needed to wait indoors next door due to the rain caused by tropical storm Beryl. Text confirmation noted a ‘will be ready’ by 4:55 PM. With no-one walking up in this rain to place orders, I assumed it wouldn’t be that long. 4:56 PM no ‘order ready’ text received. Decided to head over and pick it up anyways.
After having to knock multiple times on the window to get the attention of the staff member, who had been absorbed in his phone. I learned my order wasn’t ready.
Soaked from the rain, I found it incredibly frustrating. The staff member took our ticket and unfortunately tried to lie by claiming it had just printed. It was clear that he had been preoccupied with his phone, assuming no one would approach the window during the storm. Not wanting to wait longer, I requested a refund, which was promptly granted and he did sincerely apologize. I assumed this would be the end of my experience.

By the time I had walked back to close my tab, the owner, Rene reached out swiftly, offering exceptional customer service. A simple genuine apology addressing the issue, both Rene and the staff member worked diligently to resolve the inconvenience. I appreciate the sincerity in response from both Rene and the staff member.

And so, after giving WOW Poke a second chance, I can confidently say that it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing—generous bowls filled with super fresh fish. Despite the initial hiccup, I'm impressed by both the food quality and the owner's commitment to making things right.“

“Having grown up mosty in Hawaii I love Hawaiian BBQ. I've tried several places people have told me about just to end up disappointed most of the time I did eventually find a good place but it was in way south Austin and I live in Leander. I was absolutely thrilled when I tried Shoyu Sugar the food was legit and amazing. on top of that Rudy and Malama are genuinely nice and friendly people. The food is broke da mouth(which is a good thing for those who don't know)“

“So many poor reviews and so confused as to why! I ordered from here tonight via Uber Eats because I just wanted something healthy...I took one bite and audibly gasped. I'm polishing off my bowl as I type this out because I literally couldn't wait to leave the best review of my Google career... Every bite was so delicious and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Easily my new favorite place in the city. I expect that I will be ordering from here again very very soon!“

“Not often I write a review, so it must be something. Reminds me of being back on O‘ahu.The Loco Moco was worth a drive. The gravy was tasty and flavored like a burger fresh off the grill. The egg was perfectly prepared.I ordered a second meal of grilled shrimp. I like to taste more than one thing my first time to a place. The shrimp and sauce was delicious.Mahalo to the service and the person running the restaurant. Pleasant, kind, and welcoming.There were tables with umbrellas to eat and I should have stayed for the music and opportunity to order more. It was a bit of work to navigate to get to the trailer and parking was unclear - so pass through and park past the trailer.In the end, I will be back. “Love, Love, Love this place. This is a must every time I visit Austin. The best poke on the mainland, very fresh fish and good flavors. They will sell out of white rice from time to time so be sure to go early. Their edamame is good but their cucumber salad can be very salty sometimes.

The atmosphere is very tropical and casual. The staff is friendly.
