“Kai is the man! That food was beyond delicious. Korean fried chicken and katsu were both perfectly crispy crunchy. Amazing flavor with or without the sauce offered. Don't sleep on the Mac salad either... Everything was phenomenal. I'm not even hungry and already plan on coming back for dinner.“

“YUM! Authentic poke bowl food truck located next to Love Birds cocktail bar and La BBQ. Ordering process was really easy and streamlined via marking your order with a marker on a board. Prices are reasonable, as well. Service is a little slow (~20 min wait) but maybe they just have a lot of online orders? All in all, so happy to have had the opportunity to try this place out! Very fresh and tasty options. I'll be back!“

“Been here twice now, and I'm already in love.Sounds corny, but you can taste the love and effort she puts into the food.If you haven't tried Hawaiian food, this is a great introduction.Try the Loco Moco. A recent invention with an origin story you should look up. Hamburger patty on rice, covered in gravy, Mac salad on the side. Sounds like nothing much, but such comfort foodTry the beef teriyakiTry the spam musubi. Imagine sushi where they sub out the fish with spamAwesome food“

“Everything about this place is awesome. My husband and I were blown away by the pricing, freshness and the friendliness of the staff. The restaurant was clean and food came out in a very timely manner. One thing to note is the small and medium bowl come in the same size but the medium has more fish so don't make the mistake of getting a small like I did on my first visit. Ultimately my husband and I went twice - and if our trip was longer and we came here earlier I would've gone here every day. There is something about a poke bowl that is unlike any other food. Just so refreshing and flavours that don't work with anything else!We ordered the classic tuna. Absolutely stunning flavours and such a pretty bowl. The fish is top quality and the sushi rice is so flavourful. It is beyond addictive. The second bowl we ordered was the wasabi ponzu salmon. I am not really a salmon girl but this was so tasty. The sauce really brought the whole bowl together. You also have the option to create your own bowl which I thought was really cool. The menu all sounded great but if you want to try your own - you can!Definitely check this place out. You can't go wrong with the kind staff, quick service, fresh flavours and happy atmosphere. Hoping my hometown gets something like this ourselves. I crave Pokebowls!“

“I am so happy we found Hawai'i Nei Café. The vendor was so friendly, the food came out lightning fast and the portions were huge. She offered a complimentary water while I waited. She called me by name when taking my order (from the card), and I even got a little buzzer to let us know when it was ready. It was almost no need as it was ready before I finishedI filling up my van with gas.The pork was fork tender and juicy, and the macaroni sauce was clearly hand-made. The fresh scallions added to the flavor. For $11 this was a STEAL. No reason to go to a drive-through when this food is cheaper, faster, healthier, and made with love.“

“Update 2/21/2024:Went there again for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised to learn the rude staff is no longer there. The young lady's today were very pleasant and kind. The food was excellent, but the portions still remain a little on the skimpy side. Updating my review from two to four stars.“

“I actually worked here YEARS ago but I am coming at it from an outsider’s perspective despite anything that happened in the past. I don’t even think the manager I worked under is there anymore. I came back to try it again for the first time in a while. Still pretty much the same menu they’ve had since. The food is pretty good. They have decent menu options. I will say I’ve never had a bad meal there. Not the BIGGEST portions ever but decent amount nonetheless. This location is definitely small. Small building with a few tables and like…one or two wooden tables right near the lot. Not the best. Not any nice outdoor setting. So…generally, worth a try. The guy working that last time I went was pretty friendly. I will also say it was kind of tough eating the poke out of the pint containers (had to mix it up out of them). I took it to go to have it at the park and it was definitely hard to mix cuz it was so full in that small container. So. If you’re eating it there or going home and using another bowl, that is best. Still possible but … some rice fell out while mixing. HahKid-friendliness: Just a restaurant so…kid friendly.“

lulubowls (Hawaiian-Inspired Bowls- Frontage) Hawaiian • $
5610 N Interstate Hwy 35, Austin

“I need to mentally prepare myself to write this post and you should too as well reader. This was the best food I have ever had. The dusting of the pineapple, the crunch of the chicken, the perfect portion sizes of it all. I finished eating and immediately called everyone in my contacts to tell them how good this food was. Even people I hadn't spoken to in years. It changed my life I don't even like potato salad, but lulubowls potato salad? Unbelievable. Spicy, creamy, fresh, a shmorgashborg of taste unlike anything my childish eating habits could have imagined. I am a new woman. And my tastebuds have finally lived. But really this food was decently priced and GOOD“
