“The best barbecue in Texas!! The ribs are my favorite as they are so tender and good. I am a rib snob and these are the best I have ever had!!The brisket is absolute perfection. It is super juicy and delicious with just the right amount of smokiness and marbling. The meat is so tender and tasty. The accompanying barbecue sauce is tangy with just a hint of spice. The sides change up as does the menu, but it is a must try!!”
“The flower barria tacos were very good it came with sauce sauce and a jalepanjo now the beef enchiladas with green chili sauce I did not like that at all it was very salty and tasted like vinegar and the meat was pan friend ground beef the bean and rice was very good The chips and salsa was very good. The chips were fresh and crispy. Tasty not deep-fried and the salsa was had a little spice to it. It was actually really good salsa. Overall, everything was OK. The service was good. It’s just the taste of the green chili was not my taste at all, and I like authentic fire, roasted green chili sauce, and that had no spice to it, except for vinegar and salt.”
“After a very underwhelming meal elsewhere, we stumbled into Smittys desperately needing some good food. It was absolutely incredible, probably the best brisket I have ever had. The cobbler was great too, and service was incredible. If I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely be heading back. Cannot recommend enough!”
“Donut Palace is a gem! Their donuts are divine, boasting a wide range of flavors. Each bite is a deligh. The staff are friendly and helpful, adding to the overall fantastic experience. Don't miss out on the delicious treats at Donut Palace!”
“I had the small ribeye. Ordered the steak medium rare. It Wes a bit closer to medium. It had flavor, just not as much as I prefer. Not the best nor the worst that I have had.My father- in- law had the fish. It was great, I tried a bite. My wife had the chicken fried steak. The meat was overly thin, and she said, "it was like leather. The sides and said bar were great!Great service!Wheelchair accessibility: Mother-in-law uses a scooter. She easily maneuvered through the dining area.”
“I wish there were snacks, nuts pretzels carrot sticks. That Kansas star is wonderful. Really great flavor. Also wish they had a cider on tap. But it is a nice place and very friendly staff.”
“I was not aware of Lemon's, but saw it out of the corner of my eye and stopped in for lunch. Good stuff! When in Brownwood, this will be my regular stop. Make it yours. You will be glad you did.”
“Gomez restaurant was a staple for Brownwood for over 50 years. When they closed their doors people were buying their food and freezing it knowing it was the end of an era. Now one of the great grandsons has opened a food truck up with his grandfather and great uncle who used to cook at the restaurant. The nachos and the enchiladas were spot on because you have the same ingredients and cooks making them. It was so good! They also have their chips and hot sauce for sale if your not wanting a meal. They sold out the first day in less than an hour and the second day they were out by 1:00.”
“Art's BBQ is so tender, it melts in my mouth. Delicious! He has the biggest potatoes I have ever seen. The beans are spiced just right, with some bacon in it. Like my dad used to make in a big stock pot on the stove.”
“I visited on a slow day for the restaurant, but I could definitely see if there was a crowd how service could be drastically different. It was a busy day for the course as there were a good number of members around playing golf and doing other activities.+Beautiful views, even better if you're out on the deck of course+All the food I had was the best food I had during my trip to Brownwood. Professional taste and even the was very well presented at a reasonable cost.+Deviled Eggs, wow, is a must try. Tomato bisque, was as expected, but good. The Reuben was perfect. Buttery toasted rye bread tops off the expected combo of meat, kraut, and dressing sauce.+Service staff was very nice, but for as little of people, it could have been a little better. They also are dealing with bar order (drinks) as well.+Does not require membership to dine-A little out of the way, it is a country club so makes sense.-Small dinning area in the bar room. There is more room in the foyer area, so maybe they seat people there on other nights?”
“I moved to Brownwood permanently and a year ago and have not been able to find a good Mexican food place and this place is excellent! Really enjoyed the breakfast burrito and will be back to try more of their dishes. Homemade flour tortillas! Can't get any better than that!”
“Huge burritos. Taste of old school south of the border memories before us little white boys become a way to make a bit of cash for crazy fools in Warez kid napping and all angry. Miss me some Mexico. But owell Mexico cometh here now!!!”
“BBQ restaurant. I had the pulled pork cheese fries. Plenty of moist, tender pulled pork on the fries. But. I didn't like the cheese. It just wasn't the right type for fries. It was too solid. The cake was moist.Parking: 40 spots”
“We came to eat here on my husband's birthday and we enjoyed everything about our experience. It was our 1st time, and we will definitely come back whenever we visit Brownwood.”
“All the food here is amazingly delicious!! A must visit when in town or passing through. And served with a smile and warm greeting, you cannot beat that winning combination! It’s worth the drive EVERY TIME!”
