“As a BBQ restaurant, it's pretty basic with it's offerings. That being said, the brisket that I got was very good! Unfortunately, the Mac and Cheese and some of the other sides aren't necessarily made to order so they aren't as high quality as the rest of the meal. I was satisfied though. “We celebrated our birthday and everything was truly awesome! Our server was truly amazing. My only negative comment was that the manager walked past our table several times and even made contact. We ended up ordering the Jumbo Family Meal and it was AWESOME! WE got to have a taste of everything including delicious sides!! Try the green beans and cheesy mashed potatoes! The brisket was out of this world, and so was the vanilla cream soda! Everything was beyond delicious. This meal fed 4 adults and 2 kiddos with lots of leftovers to spare! Loved that you could eat outside if you want! Plenty of room. We didn't know what to expect and we were definitely not disappointed! Prices were very fair for the amount and quality of food served! “My Wife and I frequent beautiful restaurants like Kirby’s Steakhouse, but last night’s Kirby’s Steakhouse experience was phenomenal.From the front / reception with Astrid and her team to the appetizers / wine / main entrees / birthday dessert, facilitated by Korey, was an excellent evening.Korey’s knowledge, attention to detail, and astuteness to our questions was unbelievable. He undoubtedly knew all the menu items and articulated very clearly / carefully.The food preparation / presentation / taste resembled culinary artistry. The quality indisputably was exceptionally above anything I’ve tasted. The Kirby cocktail sauce was like none I’ve ever tasted, a unique blend of sweet and spicy ingredients.The Steak-n-Cake entree was unbelievable. The steak was very very tender, and could be cut with only a fork. I’ve never tasted a well done steak with a little crisp on the outside and very moist / soft on the inside. The lump crab cake and sauce was an awesome combination. This far surpassed any east coast entree I’ve ever consumed. “So, I made a little mistake. I thought they served "lunch". And indeed there are some pretty decent items for lunch. Chicken Fried steak could have been run through the tenderizer one more time...but my real issue was when I asked for a dinner salad. NOPE..no salads in this place. You see...we expanded and decided we did not have room in the kitchen to make a salad. We are "really" a breakfast place. And I'm quite sure that they are. A breakfast place. The pancakes I saw were huge. But no salad? At all? Ok, my son loves corn..sorry, no corn. I do want to say.."fried green beans...the bomb!" But no salad and no corn at all.Again...very nice server...we are a breakfast place.“

“Fabulous Sunday brunch. The ambiance, the food, the staff, all of it! This place was hopping busy but waited maybe 3 minutes to get seated. David took great care of us. We were traveling and found this place on yelp. It was 30 minutes out of our way and I'm here to say it was worth it! I ordered the Cali omelette with grits and mini pancakes for my sides. The icing and powdered sugar on the pancakes was better than a cinnamon roll! My belly is happy and very full. I will be back if I'm ever in the Dallas area again.“

“Maria’s is a staple and must go to the area! We frequent Maria’s at least once a week whether for dinner tacos or morning breakfast. The tacos are SO good and filled with meat. We particularly love the carnitas and Barbacoa. If you’re in the mood for a quesadilla or nachos, both also very good! But DON’T skip out on breakfast here. The sausage,egg and cheese are yum and also very full! And lastly I’ve never tasted a better pancake in my life. I’m not usually a pancake person and now I crave it. Even without butter and syrup it has a special taste unlike any other. Staff are always kind, service is fast, and our order is never wrong.“

The ONLY reason I don't give 5 stars is I like to bring my elderly parents and there are no accommodations when there is a long wait. I understand a no waitlist and no calling to put your name in, with a parent that can't stand for 45 mins and it's raining I was hoping they would offer to put handicapped or elderly folks on a list without driving there to walk in say our name and leave go back home then drive back.“

“Out of all the wineries in the area, we chose Messina Hof's. It was an overall good experience. Our server was timid and not very informative, even when prompted. But we were able to glean from some of the other servers which helped. The food was elegantly displayed and thoughtfully done. A nice wine tasting setting in town. “Very much enjoyed a Sunday early afternoon breakfast at the Eggsquisite Cafe. 2 in our group got the eggs benedict dishes (avacado and original) and I got the breakfast combo. The service was friendly, prompt, and efficient and the food was delicious! In today's environment, I consider the prices reasonable as well. Parking is readily available and is only about 4 minutes away from the Southlake center shops. Definitely recommend if looking for a casually comfortable, cheery breakfast or lunch.“

Meanwhile, my decidedly-not-nerd wife remembered BreadHaus and so we made another quick detour and they were open! Hooray!If you're like me and bakeries instantly put you in your happy place, then run-don't-walk to BreadHaus. This place is a German-style bakery par excellence! Lots of unique items to choose from, whether you want bread loaves or pies to bring home, or a simple streusel or Bavarian pretzel to munch on while you stroll downtown Grapevine! We were on a mission for the Bourbon Chocolate (Pecan) Pie and managed to snatch what I think was the last one. Also picked up a piece of their blueberry streusel and a chocolate mini-cake for the kids.Okay, you know how a lot of times, "Pecan pie" is just a glob of sugary sludge in a bland crust with a few pecans tossed on top? This is why we can't have nice things, people. Well let me introduce you to the most amazing and perfect and Pecanny pie ever. It was outstanding! The helpful worker at the counter let us know that their pies can stay out on the counter top "for up to two weeks" and we just laughed. Bless your heart, this pie won't last for two days. Amazing. If you look at the picture I've provided, you may also note that they sell their pies in glass pie dishes -- bring them back for a discount on your next pie! Brilliant! I don't know if it actually makes the pie taste better, but let's just assume that that's part of the magic. We will absolutely be back!“

“Came in from out of town. Lovely variety and exceeded my expectations! Freaky baked bread in a brick oven. Pastries, numerous Delicious salads, a variety of soups and all kinds of drinks of all types and some even home made! In Seattle, this would be the price of one dish! I just cannot get over how delicious the hot bread is with the baba ganoush and fried eggplant! When the Tabbouleh is good you know the rest will be great and it was. I'm gonna squeeze another visit before I fly back to Seattle.“

“The best authentic Salvadoran I’ve had in the area! For starters the chips and salsa were fresh and not too spicy. We ordered mixed fajitas it was amazing, they had homemade corn tortillas, and even the refried beans were so delicious. The shrimp and Mojarra was cooked and seasoned perfectly, definitely recommend this place 10/10 with everything including the service!“

If you have a large group and plan to visit on a weekend, arrive early to secure a table. The food and drinks were amazing, and the prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants in Southlake.
