“You ever eat somewhere and it instantly brings back memories from a different restaurant??
The other day we went to Captain D's in Burleson.
I hadn't been to one in years and so was curious how good it would be.
We were a Long John Silvers family growing up so I always have memories of those meals
Well Captain D's has done it well and made me feel like I was at LJS but it was BETTER!
First off Perla at the counter was tremendous!
She definitely knows how to run the restaurant
We tried a little bit of everything
The fish was fried perfectly
The hush puppies were crunchy but moist on the inside
The fries were excellent
The fries pickles were lightly breaded and sour pickles
The butterfly shrimp had the perfect crunch
The mozzarella sticks were flavorful and not over chewy
Overall the oil seemed very new as everything had a light color to it
What I was also very impressed with was how clean the restaurant is for the age
Also how great they maintained it after being there for awhile
I'll definitely be back now that I know it leap frogs the ol LJS!

“Haven't even left and wanted to leave the review. Food was good. Had the grits and shrimp . Yum! The service was the best we had Misty. She was so nice and sweet and knew her menu. She always checked on us and kept the drinks full. Service 10/10. Next time you stop by ask for Misty you won't regret it. :)“

“I went to Southwest high school just up the road from 2016 till 2020 and it was the go to spot for lunch , for those who didn’t have a car they walked for the first two years of high school and then we started driving there for lunch. It’s a small spot so it’s usually empty inside because people get their food to go, but the people were very kind during high school school and they knew me for getting lemon juice and ranch with my fried rice and then they got new owners and they are still just as nice and the food is just as great I personally love the 12 large fried shrimp with fries so good and fresh every time as well as the spicy chicken fried rice or any variation of the fried rice, 10/10 I haven’t tried the fish, but I heard it’s really good“

“This was my first time. They did not disappoint. From the time we walked in, until the time we left, the service and food was amazing! We even had the pleasure of meeting and taking a picture with TJ and MJ!We had catfish, wings, brisket, and ribs. Everything was delicious! I'll be back and I'm bringing others!“

“There was a small line not too too busy. The ceiling was leaking from the vents that was scary. Hazardous and extremely dangerous with it without a wet floor sign. Our food was delicious and I am Glad I came back to Killeen I only wish another captain d’s would come back our way! Missing a piece of home. The young man in the purple shirt was very helpful and amazing the customer service is outstanding still and I wouldn’t change anything about the wonderful feeling of getting what I paid for #alabama“

“Placed an online order 7/23/2025 only to get to the restaurant and it was closed. Bars on the door, lights off, yet my credit card was charged!! I really enjoyed eating here but I will not return.“

“Went for the first time with a group that are regulars about a week back and I enjoyed it tremendously! I’m not an oyster girl, but my cousin is and when they crafted up a little sampler to give the oysters a try she was pleasantly surprised! Gave them a rave review! I was in it for the fun and greatly enjoyed just hanging out and not feeling pressured to buy more food or drinks! That’s how we like to hang, service when we need it, never had to track down the waitress, but she also didn’t hover over us!“

“Anna was our waitress and is AMAZING!! The food is always hot and huge portions we have been there twice in the last two weeks to celebrate birthdays. It is such a great place to go to because you can actually sit and talk and visit. The restaurant is kid friendly with a small little game room with close circuit TV so you can keep an eye on the kiddos The bathroom is so clean it’s mom approved!! Love this place“

“The food was excellent! I forgot to take pics but I got the snow crab and shrimp platter and my family got the seafood platter. All of these Items I would recommend! The 🍸 and the Bock Bock beer were awesome! The service was excellent...very attentive! We visit often...definitely will revisit.“
