“Stopped by The Pelican House for some Louisiana Cajun flavor and it did not disappoint! I ordered the grilled seafood platter,super flavorful and cooked just right. You can really taste the seasoning in every bite. I also tried the peach cobbler, and it was spot on. Perfect balance of breading and peachesn not too heavy, not too sweet. Shoutout to Louis, the owner, for the great conversation and sharing some helpful advice about opening a restaurant. That personal touch made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!“

The place is clean from the parking lot to everything inside.Today is the 2nd time I have ordered the grilled white fish, both times really good, great french fries, and the breadstick is yummy. The 4 stars for the food Is about the one piece of battered and fried fish that I brought back to the house for my granddaughter. She made a face, asked me to taste it and while the fish was plentiful and the batter clearly fresh, it tasted like it had been cooked in some pretty old oil which kind of spoiled the taste of it and nobody ate it.“

“We walked in to pick up a to go order and were warmly greeted. The server was kind to share some of the restaurant history and asked for a review, which as business owners, we like to oblige and want to help other businesses. He threw in a mango lassi with our order, which was not expected and SO delicious. All of our food was AMAZING and enough to have for lunch the next day. We ordered garlic naan, Gobi 65, Malabar with beef and veggies, chicken and lamb biryani.“

“Sunday early dinner after Dallas Broadway show with the in-laws could not have been more perfect. Began at greeting upon entry and again seating upstairs. Timing of service could not have been more professional by our server, Shelbi. Drinks, appetizers were the best. I missed the whole story but the oysters from Maine are exclusive to TruLucks and superb. The calamari was crisp and sauce was the best. Bread serve was presented like I've never seen. Cocktails and wine were enjoyed by all and with no rush, and presentation was top notch. All five of us ordered the 3 course menu and selections were numerous. Prime rib was the winner for me. Filet and the salmon were other choices at the table and everyone loved them. I have to add, TruLucks served me the best wedge salad I have ever had! Big blue cheese crumbles and bacon was the best. I will go back for just that and the other best in world carrot cake! Bottom line, it was a special occasion and there really was no way it could have been more impressive. My father in law enjoyed it so much he insisted on picking up the tab. And that speaks volumes. Thank TruLucks. We will visit you in Plano next.“

“My friend recommended this place, and I am so happy she did! So different than any other restaurant I’ve been to! I had three fish tacos. The fried cod taco was the best fried cod I’ve ever had, and it was a very large piece of fish. The second taco was a salmon taco that was also very good. It came with a habanero mango sauce, and I was afraid it would be too hot for me so she put it in a side bowl. It was not too hot, and the mango combination gave it the best flavor. The third taco was a shrimp taco that was also very good. Janette was our waitress and she was very kind and very helpful with our choices and checked on us numerous times. This is in an old historic building in Cedar Hill. I can’t wait till it gets cooler so I can sit out on their patio.“

“I was in Dallas on business, staying at the Westin a few blocks away. It was my last night, I was tired, had an early flight in the morning, and just wanted a quick meal to take back to the room. A quick search showed this fried catfish spot nearby… so yeah, say less. I walked in expecting a basic neighborhood carry-out, but instead was greeted with some of the best service I’ve had in a while which was totally unexpected. It wasn’t fancy, but it was clean, comfortable, and had good music playing. It was a good vibe so decided to eat in at the bar. I didn’t catch her name but the bartender was so nice and kindly walked me through the menu. I ordered a glass of wine and the 2-piece fillet basket. Good Lord, that fish was HOT and delicious! And when I say “fillet,” I mean a full piece of fish not broken up little scraps. Two big pieces were definitely more than enough, but it was so good I ate every bite. My 7 year old son absolutely said this was the best food we had the entire trip, and though we’re foodies, my husband and I agreed! We’re already craving it again now that we’re back in Kansas! The warm bread and garlic butter before your meal is just a small insight into the talent that is in this kitchen. We chose the $70 menu and added the lobster bisque. The bisque, escargot, caviar, bone out prime rib, beef Wellington, crème brûlée, and red velvet cake are out of this world. The Au gratin potatoes with the Wellington melt in your mouth. Even the baked potato with the prime rib came with your choice to top with real cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onions, fresh bacon and butter cubes and was cooked to perfection as well. My husband and I both ordered an old fashioned to drink and coming from an experienced bartender, those were made perfectly as well. They’re open every night of the week and it’s a good thing we don’t live closer cause we’d be here weekly!“
