“I was in Dallas on business, staying at the Westin a few blocks away. It was my last night, I was tired, had an early flight in the morning, and just wanted a quick meal to take back to the room. A quick search showed this fried catfish spot nearby… so yeah, say less. I walked in expecting a basic neighborhood carry-out, but instead was greeted with some of the best service I’ve had in a while which was totally unexpected. It wasn’t fancy, but it was clean, comfortable, and had good music playing. It was a good vibe so decided to eat in at the bar. I didn’t catch her name but the bartender was so nice and kindly walked me through the menu. I ordered a glass of wine and the 2-piece fillet basket. Good Lord, that fish was HOT and delicious! And when I say “fillet,” I mean a full piece of fish not broken up little scraps. Two big pieces were definitely more than enough, but it was so good I ate every bite. I’ll definitely be back on my next trip and will be telling my Dallas office this is the spot! Thanks for the great experience and wishing you all the best in your new location!“

“5 stars all around. Great food. Amazing and helpful bartender. Pretty chill experience until a waitress decided to squeeze between myself and another patron at the bar and proceeded to talk to the male patron while her hair was on my arm and generally in my face. I would hate to think she disrespected me because I was a black woman and purely because she lacks manners and awareness. Anyway. I will be back! I will just sit far away from other patrons to hopefully avoid that from happening again.“

“La Calle Doce is a gem! We went for Friday lunch and loved everything—the cozy, beautifully maintained old house, peaceful vibe, and excellent service. I had the lunch special with fish soup and a ceviche tostada, and my husband had the salmon salad. Both were incredible, and the spicy ranch waters were a fun bonus. Some of the best food I’ve had in Dallas—can’t wait to go back!“

“This place is really good. Very charming, nice atmosphere, we stayed outside and was lovely. The service was simply great, very nice people! We went the for the food, and oh mine it was delicious! “Stopped by The Pelican House for some Louisiana Cajun flavor and it did not disappoint! I ordered the grilled seafood platter,super flavorful and cooked just right. You can really taste the seasoning in every bite. I also tried the peach cobbler, and it was spot on. Perfect balance of breading and peachesn not too heavy, not too sweet. Shoutout to Louis, the owner, for the great conversation and sharing some helpful advice about opening a restaurant. That personal touch made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!“

“The best old school Kool aid in the entire metroplex. The fish is some of the best also. There is space to dine in but this is a no frills place. The food is the draw here. I recommend calling in for pick-up which I noticed is what most do. There is a constant flow of customers which also means there is a constant flow of fresh cooked food.
It's good so check them out. Oh yeah, they have a huge selections of cakes.“

“My family and I stopped by Royal Fried Seafood and Grill when we were in Cedar Hill for a family reunion. The service was 10/10 and the food was absolutely amazing. My 7 year old son absolutely said this was the best food we had the entire trip, and though we’re foodies, my husband and I agreed! We’re already craving it again now that we’re back in Kansas! If we ever find ourselves back in the area, this WILL be on our list of stops! A true gem!“

“The management team was great working with me and my party. There were 20+ people in our party and the staff did a great job meeting our needs on the day of my gathering in July 2025. The food was delicious, the music and vibe was on point. i visited this spot over a year ago and didn't have a good experience with food or service but my recent visit reflected a totally different experience as mentioned above. I will definitely visit again and hopefully its cooler so that we. an enjoy their patio area.“

“First time here. It has been on my list to try. I initially wanted to get a whole catfish platter. They were out of whole catfish. So I got the catfish filet basket. The basket comes with fries, white bread, jalapeno pepper and pickles. I ate a fish steak on the way home. So it is not pictured.
I do think the crispy cornmeal fry on the fish is good. The fish on the inside seemed a bit dry. The fish could use more seasoning on the actual fish instead of just in the batter. Maybe a marinade before battering and frying.
The fries were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The start was the pickles. They have a uniquely flavored brine. I would totally come back for those and to try the whole catfish and see if there is a difference.“

“Ordered some fish and sides in the drive through. Employees were super nice and the food was incredible. Service gets a 4 because I had to wait a little bit more than 10 minutes after they took payment - I prefer knowing that there's a wait before they take my money so I can decide if I'm willing to wait the extra time.
But again, the food was delicious and the employees are super nice“

If you are looking for top-tier barbecue outside of Dallas, Texas Best Smoke BBQ House is an absolute must-visit. Do not let the gas station exterior fool you—once you walk inside, you will find a proper, comfortable restaurant dining area with great seating.
The portions here are massive, making it an extremely good value for your money. You certainly won't leave hungry! The quality of the food is top-notch, with incredible flavor in every bite, proving you don't need to overpay for world-class Texas barbecue when a place like this has it all.
To top it all off, the staff is super friendly, welcoming, and incredibly generous with everything they serve. Incredible food, great atmosphere, and unbeatable hospitality. We will definitely be back!“

“First time visiting this restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Nice family environment. While we were there we were in the presence of a 56th birthday celebration and a graduation. Nice group. We had the shrimp basket and the 12 piece wing (lemon pepper). Food arrived hot and seasoned perfectly. Family really enjoyed our meal.“

“My shrimp order was good, but the lady behind had called in an order of tails. When she got there to pick them up she was told they were out of tails. I felt so bad for her because my wife eats them & loves them when they are fried extra crispy. Some one dropped the ball when they took her order#SoSad.“
