“Representing one of the Mikeska Brothers BBQ Dynasty here in EL Campo, a devine establishment of meat has been serving the town for decades.To say that BBQ is an acquired taste is an understatement. One could argue all day long that the BBQ he/she was raised on is the best. Having tried Mikeska BBQ across Texas, I can attest that all of it is good. But EL Campo is home and this is what I grew up eating therefore, this is the best.The sides are homemade and amazing. Many times you find good BBQ and mediocre sides, but that is not the case here.The staff is always friendly and service is impeccable.The buildings that have housed the BBQ have changed throughout the years and the big dining room now resides out on HWY 59. “For a quick bite on the route, we stopped here for lunch and I was vastly impressed by the food quality and quantity of this place. The portion is generous and the quality is phenomenal; my parents had been here years ago but it was my first time and I had a great experience. I ordered the deluxe plate and the sides are all amazing. I highly recommend this place. I will dare say that it is better than Buccees.“
“We got so lucky that we made it in time for a late lunch here. The brisket and sides were top notch quality ? We ordered brisket sandwiches, and a loaded potato. Brisket sandwiches come with chips and drink. Lay's Chips, canned Coca Cola drinks, and brewed ice tea are available. I don't recall seeing sugar to add to the unsweetened tea but you can always mix the sweetened and unsweetened tea to your desired taste. Tea was great! There is an ice chest with clean ice for beverages. Next to the chest is a tray with a metal scoop to use for ice.As travelers, having friendly and efficient service was refreshing. Try it. “Had a BBQ chicken sandwich. That was cooked so good, the BBQ sauce soaked in. Also had a brisket sandwich that was quite excellent. A water and a Gatorade as well. Service was quick and superb. The restrooms were quite clean. I was very pleased with the visit. This is also an Exxon convenience store.“
“It is a great gas/ snack stop. Of course, they have a full meat market , but I just like the meat sticks and some of the snack food or bakery goods. But don't think they just have food , they have wine , great gifts for foodies. You must stop there. They also have hot food and an area to eat it in.“
