“You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it...this "gas station" is filled with shopping and homemade food! We had hot pancakes and eggs for breakfast and if you need anything from shoes, clothes, toys, and mini vehicles they've got it!“

“Very nice waitress who was incredibly attentive without being annoying. We were meeting an old friend after years and spent 3 hours having dinner. We didn't feel pressure to hurry along at all.We had a Negroni and Italian Margarita. Both well balanced cocktails that were perfect. My only comment would be for them to let guests know the Margarita comes standard with a salt rim and to confirm they want it. I'm so used to restaurants advising if/when a drink has a rim on it... that I did not assume it would come that way because there was no mention of it. My bad on the assumption, I understand, but still would be good customer service to mention the salt rim and/or confirm if they want a sugar rim or no rim instead.Appetizer of meatballs, we started with. The meatballs are excellent. One of the best I've had. 4 to the plate. The sauce a tad salty, but hardly noticeable.For dinner we shared the Classico pizza. I haven't a complaint about it. Excellent flavors melded together. Their dough is phenomenal. If I lived locally I'd be here once a month for a pizza.“

“Walkable to downtown Waco and shopping.Super fun brewery after work date spot! The beer here is so good and they rotate a ton of their own special crafted beers.We got the pretzel bites and the pizza. Both were so good! The pizza crust was crispy and had a ton of flavor. One of the better pizzas in Waco!Definitely could go here to just grab a beer with some friends.“

“Second time I've had food from this restaurant. First time I had their large CFS and I could barely walk out of the restaurant. Today I got food to go and had the skunk egg. I was not disappointed at all!!! Well....except for the fact I can barely walk again lol. The people there are super nice and helpful and it has a very nice "hole in the wall" vibe. Perfect!!! Oh....these cookies!!! Yum!!!! Keep up the great job ya'll!!!“

“Great place for Italian food. Place was full of locals and a sign said to wait in car if table wasn’t ready. Imagine that.Nobody was leaving.I’ve had food at Josephine’s in Houston and this was on par with that.Parking: Can be an issue depending on time of day“

“When in Waco, TX and especially when you visit Baylor University, you have to stop by Shorty's Pizza Shack. There's plenty of room inside and on the outside patio to sit. The atmosphere is fun and the energy of the crowd is good. The wait staff are friendly and the food is good. The Cinnamon knots are amazing and our favorite item on the menu. The Pillows are all great as well as the pizza. Definitely worth checking out!“

“All right I hope you listen to me. I'm a big guy from Brooklyn and an Italian food aficionado! I've been in Texas for 15 years and from atmosphere to food to service I felt like I was back home. The food is absolutely phenomenal. If you're looking for somewhere to eat a solid and I mean 100% solid Italian meal this is your spot. I regret that it's so far away as I live in Austin. Man that was good food!“

“Lots of options but settled on this place. I was not disappointed. They were really busy but the young lady taking orders was a gem. We ordered the giant slices, meatballs and the ginger brew. Everything was delicious. The hot honey was my favorite. If you like a little spice pared with a bit of sweetness this is for you. The flying pig was my cousins choice. I liked it but pulled the pineapple off. The meatballs are ample and very tasty. The ginger brew has a hint of spice and is amazing. We ate there and it was a nice little atmosphere. My rating of 4 is due to the food pickup process. They take your number but it's not to page or call. It's placed on the tray. I had a lady pick up some of my order because she ordered the same slice of pizza. I pointed at my phone number and she was trying to tell me she ordered hot honey. I wish they would just use an order number. Also I ordered the 4 meatballs but was initially given 3. They corrected it and handed me 4 hot meatballs. I get it. They were busy. It's logistics and can be easily tweaked. But definitely the difference in a 3-4 or 5 rating. However it would not deter me from returning for more hot honey if I were in town.“

“There are many great pizza options in Waco now but I always return to Poppa Rollo's when I come back to my hometown. Wife tried the BBQ chicken pizza and said it was the best she ever had. My daughter destroyed her mini cheese pizza. Love the beef topping. Make sure to order extra cheese on top to help keep the toppings on.“

“Can’t say enough about how great this place is. They take care of a large group of us more than once a month. They go out of their way to make sure we have all we need to make our events great. Food fantastic and the staff is out of this world.“

“Everything was good except the burnt crumbs that are left in the oven, stick to the bottom of the pizza. This significantly changes the taste from good to a tangy burnt flavor. ?Really have to clean that stuff out regularly throughout the day because it makes a very good product end up not being so tasty.“

“Hi guys, as you can see, we were so hungry. I almost forgot to take photos. So my daughter, wife, and myself enjoyed the lunch. The wings and the fries are a 10 and a must get, no matter what you order.the wings were crispy on the outside and juicy. The fries are so crispy. It's almost like they dipped them in funnel cake batter. I'm giving a 4 star because they would make my pizza crust crispy. Again, sorry for the lack of good photos.“

“The food is great. They have a great salad and wings. The pizza is very good along that they have weekly special and a good selection. The customer service is very good. Very friendly and helpful. The location is by the river and has great seating. Definitely would recommend Slow Rise for lunch or family night for dinner.“

“I like the app ordering for quick service, but sometimes I'll just go by there to get lunch or dinner and scan the receipt for points on the app. Note: They are busy from 12-2 pm, so service will be a little slower at those times. The food is always fresh and very good. Customer service is good as well.“

“Really, Dominos is my go-to pizza where ever I go, this one is a way out in an area I don't visit often, and man, that pizza today was so much better than the last one I got at that store, last year. They are making better food than ever, I suggest you give them a try and encourage them to continue to make better food.“
