“I generally don't eat at Italian restaurants because I'm Italian and most places don't compare to true Italian cooking. But we ate at Verona's for the first time with a large group of friends last weekend.
First of all, staff are amazing! 👏👏👏 They handled a group of 15 with separate checks like pros. The restaurant itself is also very pretty and homey. We felt comfortable there right away.
The food was average to good, but again, I'm going to be a tough critic here. I tried a friend's pasta. It was too overcooked for me and the sauce was a little heavy handed, but the person eating it loved it, so who am I to judge? My husband had the pizza which he said was pretty good, not great, but the best he's had so far in east Texas (he worked in NYC and CT for several years, so again, the bar has been set high!) I had the grilled chicken Caesar salad, which was very good. Dessert was the best part of the meal. Try the lemon cake. I'd eat here again just for that cake! The chocolate mousse cake looked amazing too. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal here. The place was clean, the food was tasty and well prepared, service was excellent. Anything else is just personal preference.“
