A sublime orchestration of southern comfort food paired with unique, very yummy, libation offerings. We decided on a sampling of appetizers: cast iron cornbread, gumbo, shrimp and grits, fried squash blossoms. All of them were simply delightful, but my fave was the squash blossoms...you must try this dish! Food and customer experience was excellent. We had reservations and had to continually change them but when we arrived we were treated with respect and hospitality. It was worth the maneuvering to have diner there. The persimmons carpaccio, gumbo, iron skillet cornbread were fan favorites. Big thank you to Roots Southern staff and kitchen that made a birthday diner memorable.

10/10 - Would recommend this James Beard award winner. I was in town visiting for a long weekend and had dinner at this cute-quaint restaurant. We were greeted with great customer service and a smile by a beautiful young lady named Aliyah. We didn’t have a reservation however, she made accommodations for us to be seated.
