“We have been to this location many times for brunch. On this visit, some of the meat selections were not as good, they were not well seasoned and had more fat than usual, and medium rare was not available for beef cuts. I love filet but it had no flavor. The spicy picanha was too spicy. The service was also mediocre this time even though the restaurant was not full; they did not bring our drink order until I asked a second time. The meat service was good, they came around often though but I had to wait until the end of my meal to get a lamb chop because they were not ready. They did ask if there was a certain cut of meat we wanted. It may just have been an "off" day. We recently visited a Brazilian restaurant in Austin and it is better, so maybe our expectations have changed.“

It’s not my first visit, and while I wouldn’t call myself a regular, each time I return I’m reminded why it’s worth it, the cocktails are consistently exceptional. Trying to modify our reservation over the phone proved unnecessarily complicated. The automated prompts felt excessive, and no one ultimately picked up. That said, right at our reservation time, the host called to confirm whether we were on our way. I appreciated that. In a small space, holding a table matters, and they did. The room is warmly lit, modern, and chic without trying too hard. The ambiance encourages conversation. There are always inventive additions to the drink menu, and that’s where Bar Colette truly distinguishes itself. The music this particular evening felt slightly off, but it hardly detracted from the purpose of the space: expertly crafted cocktails and unhurried dialogue. This time, I ordered two Tucanone Bombolones (Amaro Montenegro, Legal Mezcal, and nuanced herbal notes) and two Pearadise cocktails (lavender-infused Grey Goose Le Poire, Oloroso, pear, spiced wine, yogurt whey, and honey-almond brittle). Both were flawless. Balanced, intentional, and technically impressive without being overworked. Credit is due to the bar team and the Feels Like Home group for maintaining a standard that never wavers. In a city full of options, intention is what separates the ordinary from the memorable. The finest bars know they’re not simply pouring drinks, they’re curating the feeling you carry with you when you walk out the door. Bar Colette understands that distinction.“

“I had an amazing experience at JINYA Ramen Bar! The food was outstanding—everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The ramen was rich and perfectly prepared, and you can tell they put a lot of care into every dish.

What really made the visit exceptional was our server, Sol. Sol was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we sat down. They made great recommendations, checked on us at just the right times, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. “We used Blue Mesa as our wedding caterer and it was one of the easiest decisions out of the whole planning experience. Karen was so friendly and accommodating during our tasting. The hardest part was narrowing down our options because it was all so delicious! We chose to do carving stations with the tenderloin and stuffed chicken. At the last minute I added the queso because it’s literally out of this world amazing. People RAVED about the food, said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. They even prepared plates for our vegetarian guests. For the service we got, I feel like the price was incredibly reasonable. They also helped with our cake cutting and did a good job.
