“Not too far off the beaten path, just off of highway 183 between Lampasas and Austin is this wonderful General Store which serves an awesome lunch. We always opt for the burger and fries with a soda pop of which there are many to choose from. We love the friendliness of the visitors who have welcomed us to sit at their table, when busy, and the shop keeper who takes our order and brings our meal to our table when we visit. There aren't many of these type places, and this is a gem worth visiting.”

“Best BBQ I’ve had in AGES. I grew up here and now live in the Midwest. I was visiting my parents and wanted some legit BBQ, the kind I grew up with - not hipsterized. I cannot recommend Tejano Cookers enough. The sliced brisket was unbelievably good. Awesome, friendly service. No pretense. I will come back every time I’m down here. It’s a treat to look forward to. If you’re a BBQ lover who lives nearby, support this place every time you have a chance! It’s a gem!!!!”

“Good beer selection and the pizza is good. Great ambiance. But I have to warn you, I have not had a burger that bad since school cafeteria burgers when I was a kid. Tough justifying $11 for one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. Same for my wife.”
