We really enjoyed our dinner at Rathskeller. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi and it was delicious. My husband said the Heavenly Tilapia was the best he’s ever had. The rice pilaf wasn’t bad, but it was more of a Spanish rice IMO. I enjoyed the cheddar mashed potatoes, but my husband was not impressed with them. Over all, our dinner was wonderful and the service was great. We’d go back again!

The atmosphere is cozy and unique, with a cool vibe from being in a basement setting that adds some history to the experience. The food is often praised for its flavor, especially the green beans and crispy chicken fried steak. The Kraut plate is highly recommended, featuring two different sausages, jäger schnitzel, German potatoes, pickled beets, sauerkraut, and stone ground mustard that packs a punch. Many visitors enjoy the flavorful green beans and the signature Kraut plate, making it a top choice for first-time visitors and regulars alike.
Some dishes like beignets may be a bit cakey for some, and huevos rancheros with diced celery may seem unusual, but overall, the food is exceptional. The Bloody Mary's are highly recommended—getting it spicy is a good tip. Service is friendly and welcoming, with attentive staff providing a great experience. However, visitors should be cautious of the steep stairs at both entrances, which are not ADA-friendly.
