“Massive tenders with so much flavor, macaroni and cheese is so amazing, and those crinkle fries are the best I’ve ever had. My only complaint is their cheese sauce! Everything has been perfect, but my last two visits my cheese sauce was super super burnt. The first time we came the cheese sauce was phenomenal, but my last two pick up orders were not great!“

“Layne's is really great. I'll be honest it took me a long time to come around because I really like Raising Cane's, but over time I came to understand what makes Layne's unique and worth it.

I had only been to their storefronts in College Station before I went to this one in Houston, and I'm happy to say this location was really great! It was clean and the food was just as good as what I had in College Station. For me, the standouts at Layne's are their ranch and their "Layne's Sauce." Their ranch is amongst the best I've EVER had and it pairs so well with the chicken and fries. What I like so much about the Layne's Sauce is how overwhelmingly peppery it is. But I say this in a good way—it's a flavor I've come to love from them. The toast and fries have also always been fantastic!

For me, it's really been those sauces that keep me coming back because it makes them unique versus Cane's and the like. But don't get mistaken, everything overall is great at Layne's and they are definitely worth a stop!

“Houston TX Hot Chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Houston TX Hot Chicken is a fast-casual restaurant that claims to offer “the freshest, healthiest and hottest Texas Hot Chicken sandwiches in the world.” Founded in 2020 by Houston Crosta and Edmond Barseghian, the original location is in Las Vegas, Nevada. Co-founder Barseghian states, “Our brand is Texas hot chicken – the sauce is sweeter and more savory than Nashville.” Despite the branding, this business has no connection to Texas; it is named after co-founder, Houston Crosta. KM and I visited Houston TX Hot Chicken in Meridian on 10/4/23, as part of a Yelp Elite event. We both got a complimentary Original Hot Chicken sandwich meal combo, plus a chicken tender and beverage of choice. The restaurant has high ceilings with exposed duct work, which gives it an industrial vibe. There are cool counter tops lit from beneath, which change color. There is a good amount of what appears to be light wood paneling along the walls, with some large, bold red images on part of a wall and the bathroom doors. The décor has a modern, youthful vibe. The combination of the most comfortable seating I’ve encountered in a fast/casual restaurant of it’s kind, indoor AND outdoor/patio dining, and great music played at a reasonable volume, gives the sense Houston TX Hot Chicken is trying to appear to a broader customer base than some of the other hot chicken joints I’ve visited locally, which is much appreciated. The service from start to end was EXCELLENT! The employees seemed genuinely happy to see us, and very sincere in their offer to answer questions etc. We also got to meet the GM Jason, who was very personable and a wealth of information. KM ordered the Strawberry Hibiscus House Lemonade, which you can upgrade to a Slushy for $1. I tried a taste. We both thought it was pretty good. I got Diet Pepsi. It had good carbonation. The Spice Levels from mildest to hottest are: No Spice, Honey Butter, Mild, Medium, Spicy, Liftoff, and Houston We Have a Problem. Ordering the latter requires you to sign a waiver. KM ordered a Mild Original Hot Chicken sandwich, and a Honey Butter chicken tender. I ordered a Medium Original Hot Chicken sandwich, and a Spicy chicken tender. There are 8 sauces to choose from, 4 of which are made in house daily. We got one of each of the ones made in house daily: House, Cheese, Cilantro, and Caesar. KM and I both LOVED our Original Hot Chicken sandwiches! KM doesn’t like spicy food as much as I do. She enjoyed both Mild and Honey Butter, though she didn’t feel she could really taste the Honey Butter flavoring in her tender. I loved both the Medium and Spicy, but next time I would get a Spicy sandwich and maybe try a Liftoff tender. The Halal chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I don’t normally care for sweet sauces such as the House, but it paired perfectly with the Spicy flavor of my sandwich. The cole slaw was good. I really liked the Brioche bun; KM would have preferred an old-school Sesame Seed Hamburger Bun. The pickles were good. Each order included a container of House sauce. Houston TX Hot Chicken serves high quality Lamb Weston Concertina cut French fries. Concertina cut is “a modern take on classic crinkle cuts with deeper, crispier grooves and ridges. Crispy grooves have more edges that provide satisfying extra crunch. Thick cuts are sturdier and are less prone to breaking than thinner fries.” In my opinion, Lamb Weston French fries are the best premade fries you can buy, but they are hard to find. I appreciate that Houston TX Hot Chicken’s attention to detail regarding the use of high quality ingredients includes the type of chicken they use, as well as the quality of French fries they serve. The only thing I didn’t like about the fries is I think they are lightly seasoned with Honey Butter flavored spice. I like sweet flavors as part of a dessert, but I don’t care for them in an entrée. KM didn’t feel the fries were sweet. The average person may not. I’m just extra sensitive to sweet flavors in entrees. Next time, I would ask for the seasoning“

“This place is simply awesome! Holys!*t they have the best burgers I've eaten in many years. And I mean that completely and honestly. The meat is real beef, the buns are made fresh and are perfect and the condiments are fresh. The tater tots and the onion rings are excellent. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. A little pricey at first then you get your food and realize they are worth every last penny and are actually in line with other fast food burger places. You will leave full, fat and happy! Or at least I did. I highly recommend JLB Eatery Fulshear. Fantastic!“

“It's already been stated in previous reviews, but needs to be said again: HIDDEN GEM FOR PIZZA. Friday or saturday evening? Pizza night for the family? If you live in a neighborhood thats close by then this should be your place for ordering pizza. Fair prices and tastes WAY better than the chain brands.“

“Love the food & the service. Little pricey for a sandwich but you can't beat the flavors. They don't skimp on the filling. A side (my pick - Broccoli salad), a pickle, & soft iced sugar cookie for dessert rounds out the meal.

Vegetarian options: It's a Chicken Salad restaurant, unless you want a salad or side dishes don't expect alternative vegetarian options.

Dietary restrictions: They always remind me they don't have to add bacon to the broccoli salad. Also, reminders about nuts in certain dishes..“

“I'd say for $15, the flavor and quality of the chicken and sides are priced correctly. However, I wouldn't recommend attending other branches outside of this location. This location is by far the best in terms of service and cleanliness.“

“First timer. I only ordered chicken strips and some cane sauce. Used the driver through. Chicken was fantastic but wasn't crazy for the overly hyped up sauce. Wait wasn't too long & my order was hot. Would definitely go again.“

“Compassionate employees. Step in a packed Chick-Fil-A. I had clients with me and nowhere to sit. The floor employee found a seat for 3. 2 Employees were eating in a booth, they graciously sat in a 2 seat table and offered us the booth. I don't eat out much, especially fast food. But, my 1 number choice is Chick-Fil-A because of fresh food and EXCELLENT service. They beat out EVERY industry of fast food chains.“

“The only downside to this CFA is the line and how busy it gets but the staff does a great job of moving the line along. Sometimes they let people cut the line that is usually out onto westheimer from the side (Sonic) parking lot which is totally unfair to the people that made the proper line and have been waiting longer, just to not have a confrontation. Sad too because the line cutter will block all traffic behind them that are trying to use the same side entryway to get to a mobile order pickup spot as they wait to cut the line since it's only 1 car wide. They need to do a better job at policing that side driveway and not let people cut the drive-thru line“

“Check your food before leaving. Often missing items. No apology or sense of urgency in correcting the problem, just asked if I was sure I was missing the item. Fries are slso soggy and cold.“

“Food is constant. Can be not fresh at times especially the nuggets but it's consistent. You know what you're getting. You can still enjoy a meal at around 10 bucks. Service is unmatched in their industry. A fun family friendly atmosphere.“
