“I’m not sure that I could recommend this place. The food was good, however I was with my 5yr old daughter and really felt like we were rushed. I understand we can’t possible order up a tab that much but we surely didn’t deserve to feel rushed. We split a salad and the meatballs. The main dish came out literally 2 mins after receiving the salad. I don’t know about this place. Slow it down.“

“I love spicy food, so I tried the REAPER! And it was meh. Don't get me wrong it WAS spicy, but it didn't taste good. It's like drinking everclear vs a cocktail. It doesn't pull you back in with layers of flavor or nuance. It's just super hot chicken. The real challenge isn't finishing it because of the heat, it's finishing it because of the flavor. The food itself was cooked well and the chicken was juicy. The fries were crispy. There was nothing wrong with the quality of the food. They just need to tweak the seasoning on the REAPER to make it worth the pain.“

“Doctor appointments in Houston mean trying new places! We've been looking forward to trying Pok Pok Po for a few weeks since we saw Shawn the Food Sheep's video review. It did not disappoint! This is the best chicken ever! Look at the seasoning on those fries! My chicken sandwich had an amazing sauce and kimchi on it. Caleb had the chicken nugget basmati rice bowl with kimchi. The side sauces are to die for, and perfectly complemented all we had. PLOT TWIST-- there are two concepts kitchens in one store front!! Pok pok Po shares a space and is the same company/chef as Bōl--a Chipoltle-style Indian food concept. We were able to try a wide sample of their fares including the rice, lamb, cauliflower, potatoes, paneer, pickled onions, avocados, and cucumber salad, airy potatoes crisps, mango Lassi, and samosa. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Staff, manager, and chef take pride in their establishment and value the experience of the customer. Everything there is gluten free (except the burger bun--but make it a wrap or a salad!) And halal, and the chicken is anibiotic free. Everything was spotless, bathrooms were nice and big.Free parking!“

One wrong step, and boom — I’m free-falling like a majestic bowling ball with commitment issues. No parachute, no plan, just pure aerodynamic panic. As I plummeted through the clouds, I saw my life flash before my eyes — mostly memories of me saying, “It’s fine, I’ve got this.” Spoiler alert: I did not got this. Then fate intervened. Out of all the places on Earth, I crash-landed right through the roof of Houston Hot Chicken like a meteor made of confusion and regret. I didn’t so much land as I reintroduced myself to the concept of gravity. Tables flipped, fries flew, and someone screamed, “Bro just DoorDashed himself!” The employees, absolute legends, didn’t even flinch. One handed me a napkin, another asked, “You want that mild or extra hot?” My spine said mild, but my soul said let’s make it worth it. I left that restaurant smelling like jet fuel and Nashville seasoning, but with a heart full of gratitude and a stomach full of dangerously good chicken. Final verdict: Service — 10/10 (They didn’t call an ambulance until I finished eating.) Atmosphere — explosive. Food — so hot it resurrected me. Would recommend? “I had a great experience at bb.q Chicken Bellaire! The chicken was very fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. I ordered the Honey Garlic and Soy Garlic wings. Both were definitely very delicious. “Our first time trying this chain, known for its crispy fried chicken. We visited the location on Westheimer in Houston. Service was very friendly and prompt. The chicken was yummy and my husband really enjoyed the adobo rice. The mashed potatoes were just ok. Their fried peach-mango pies and ube (purple yam) pies were pretty good. We will definitely return in the future for the chicken & rice.“

The staff are all very kind, particularly the younger boy who works up front. Saray is also an awesome worker, she attends to the tables in a way that makes the restaurant seem like more of a sit down service than a fast food restaurant.“
