I recommend that they stop serving old hard fried chicken wings & large thighs w/all that fat on ToGo orders so when U drive all the way home you're stuck with a bad order. I bought 3 orders Fifth Ward Specials $36.60 & 1 Red Bean w/Rice + 1 Macaroni w/Cheese $6.69 which was not good at all. Tasted old & we don't live very close by but my church is near by & does a lot of business with Frenchy's but for me & mine we will not do business with Frenchy's. Stopped by after leaving TSU for the boudin eggrolls, which were freshly made and spicy. I'm not usually into spicy food, so I couldn't tell if it was the eggrolls or the sauce that was hotter. They definitely packed a punch! Not something I'd eat often, but they were good.
I have not had French chicken since pre-Covid and a move out of state. Visited the original location on Scott Street. The chicken was great just as I remembered that’s my go to location and I drive a good ways to get there.
