I love the food - I always get the Japanese sandwich 🥪 the baristas make my drink perfect to my liking. I always ask if they could go easy with the sugar and they do. They are kind and care about their craft.

The atmosphere is great. Never been harassed, never been given any attitude. I was surprised to read a review that its only for Hispanic people. It's definitely Latina owned and I love it (and we need more). But the owners and the baristas will not turn you down for being an Asian or Black. That doesn't reflect the word community.

I would say I am a patient customer and laid back. Treat others how you want to be treated. This place is my vibe. It doesn't feel sterile and it doesn't seem pretentious. The food and drinks are definitely worth the money.“

“This place is so legit. The coffee is always spot on - my favorite is the Abyssinia latte - so perfectly spiced and hits the spot iced or cold. Their breakfast tacos are perfect, and I love that they have beef chorizo during the week. The folks who work here are super nice, and the atmosphere is quiet and calming. I feel like my brief stop in some mornings is like a little meditation with a tasty treat - a perfect start to a busy day downtown. It’s completely worth the small detour on my way in.“

I work in downtown and most often won’t have coffee, but today had an urge for a tea of sorts, so I decided to stop by this shop (as I’ve had a few teas in the past that loved). Today I decided to grab a Chai Tea Latte, and my goodness, it was the most delightful Chai I’ve had in a while. Genesis whipped it up with ease, and pretty quickly too (so I wasn’t sure how it’d turn out), but to my surprise it was AMAZING!! So grateful for this experience as it added an ounce of joy to my work day.“

“I tried the cookie butter latte it was phenomenal with cold foam on top. It was perfectly sweet with cookie butter and cream. I also tried the Nutella latte with cold foam and it was not too sweet and well balanced. They have several pastries like kolaches, scones, bagel sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, little empanada looking tacos and other goodies! A very peaceful calm quiet spot to get your laptop out and work.“

“This was on my list to try for quite a while. Went today and was pleasantly impressed. The barista was so kind. It was my 1st time and I was a little overwhelmed with the menu. You know how it is when it's your 1st time you wanna make sure you order something good and delicious. I told her what I like and she made suggestions and when I tell you it didn't disappoint believe me. I also ordered a breakfast taco and that was most delicious as well. I love the overall feel of the place. It was big, I only make mention of this because the building looks relatively small. It was quiet and would be a great place to study or have a meeting. They offer 2 hours of complimentary wifi as well. I will be back for sure. Give it a try and you will see why. I forgot to mention they have beer and wine as well.“

“When I first started getting black rock, I started at the Webster location. Unfortunately that location lacks quality and consistency when it comes to making their drinks. So I started coming to the Spencer location. The workers are very friendly, uplifting and quick but never felt rushed. My caramel blondie always tastes like how it should every single time and my food is always fresh. I love this location!“

“The Starbucks at 1100 Louisiana Street in downtown Houston was bustling during my visit. Staff attitudes ranged from friendly to indifferent—some were quick to help, others seemed overwhelmed. Drinks were average, and the portion size felt a bit light for the price. Parking was a hassle; street spots were scarce, and the nearby lot was packed. A small suggestion: adding more seating could improve the experience, as the space felt a bit cramped despite the lively atmosphere.“
