“Okay, so I was really tempted to gatekeep this little find, but it wouldn't be fair to y'all or the hardworking Sky Bar staff! Seriously, some of the best sushi and cocktails we have had - and we eat out A LOT! The Happy Hour is wonderful because it's a late HH from 5-10. I am a crab ragoon connoisseur, and they have, bar none, THE BEST! Our server, Seth, was spot on. He said he had only been there a few weeks, but you wouldn't know based on his high service level. Seth was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. The manager, Robert, made several stops by our table and the other guests to check on everything. He jumped in and helped servers as needed. We are in Galveston every month or so, and will definitely be will definitely be adding Sky Bar to our restaurant stops. Looking for a later Happy Hour, fabulous food and terrific service? “About a week and a half ago, my sister and I visited this ice cream parlor for a little dessert after finishing a meal across the street. Our server at the restaurant actually recommended this place to us, so we decided to give it a try.

This business appears to be a local, mom-and-pop, owner-operated establishment. We both got the medium two scoop cups. I went with their cinnamon and birthday cake flavors while my sister got the black cherry and something else that I can't remember at this time. The ice cream hit the spot perfectly. We sat outside on a beautiful Friday evening just soaking it all in.
It was so nice being able to appreciate the small things in life for a change.

I didn't forget about the wonderful young lady, Camila, working behind the counter either. I could tell upon meeting her that she is a GOOD PERSON. Stay blessed young lady, and the possibilities in your future will be endless.

I ordered chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes with cream gravy. The cream gravy was like water and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The garlic mashed potatoes were awful and gummy, artificial to say the least. My mother ordered fried shrimp and mashed potatoes. The fried shrimp came out with the "crust" white and semi-fried. Very strange. Also, these meals only came with one side, no vegetable option without it being an add on. These meals were $18.99 and $20.99 each! We were very underwhelmed for the price of these entrees. They DO NOT offer a lunch menu either. We will not be back.“

“A family run place a little away from the touristy parts of Galveston that serves excellent pho.

The house pho was very good. Fresh, piping hot, with good portions of all kinds of meat, in just the right kind of broth. Call it comfort food, or just plain filling, it ticks all the right boxes. We also ordered a plate of fried rice, which too was good, though not exceptional.

Service was fast and friendly in a South East Asian kind of way, which is to say don't expect much of a conversion, but you will get what you need with minimum fuss.

Prices are reasonable. The location is a bit of the grittier side of town, so the place closes at 8 pm with last order at 7.30pm. The inside is clean and bright.“

“Just the ambiance I've been looking for on the Island. The dim lighting, wine glasses and candles illuminating every table created an elegant vibe. It's romantic, warm, and still accommodating for larger groups. The vibe feels elevated, but relaxed. I made a reservation but I didn't need to. If you're familiar with this time of year on the island, it's usually a bit of a ghost town. We parked directly in front of the restaurant and the hostess immediately greeted and seated us. She even recognized my name from the reservation list which was a nice touch.“
