“The wife and I tried there brisket and ribs this evening and it was really good and I definently recommend you try them if you enjoy delicious smoked food and grab a fried pie while your there. “AUTHENTIC SOUTHERN SOUL AND WORLD-CLASS SERVICE.
This place is the real deal. We arrived on a crazy busy night (school spirit night), but the owners' wife and staff managed the floor like absolute pros—attentive, friendly, and always checking on us. Maybe the best service environment I’ve ever experienced.
The food is just as good:
Appetizers (Crawfish Dip/Meat Pie): Absolutely inhaled them. The crawfish dip is rich and soupy (in the best way) with buttered toast for dipping. Set the tone immediately.
The Gumbo: Deeply flavorful, smoky broth with perfectly non-slimy okra.
Chicken Fried Chicken: Flaky, tender, sweet and peppery crust. Whipped potatoes and creamy comfort gravy. Pure, honest soul food.
The Cornbread: Dense and sweet—a must-order.
To top it off, the owner brought us free samples of their cornbread waffles (crispy outside, gooey inside!). This isn't just a meal; it's a generous, authentic experience run by people who genuinely care. Skip the chains and come here. Perfection.“

“We came here for our first time today and it was so good. Slimy was our waitress and so attentive and sweet. Got the country breakfast and a piece of pie. Biscuits are so good and service was awesome. We will definitely be back.“

“How have I been living in Dallas, 15 min from here, for 38 years and just now found this place!? Don't like tomatoes or mayo on your burger? Want extra pickles? No fussing with a cashier, there is a toppings bar to dress your burger the way YOU like. Fries were fresh and hot. Staff was friendly and fast. dining area was clean. Burgers were well seasoned and they gave us a generous amount of bacon and crumbled blue cheese. Chili cheese dog was a good, but I wish they would have toasted the hotdog bun. Overall, ten out of ten! We will be back!“

Some of the best fried chicken I've had in a minute. I REALLY love their gizzards and livers. They're always hot, fresh and fried to perfection. Would also reocmmend the gizzards. Chicken tendies are great as well, I get them instead of Cane's and just buy the sauce. I sound like a big back, but the couple who run this place know what they're doing. Very sweet people. Oh, and the price is SO worth it.“

“Ordered takeout 2 times while my FIL was in the hospital. Their chicken is so good…the enchiladas are my favorite. Banana pudding is delicious!
They do not put utensils in the bag, both times we had to find utensils, the 2nd time I even asked if there was some in the bag…always check if you’re going to need them.“

“One of a kind experience 1000% of the way! The vibes were very good, the food was absolutely delicious and filling (definitely try the ribs and steak combo with a side of the broccoli casserole). Our waitress/server Tiara was very warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the menu items and all around, gave some of the best service I've ever experienced out of all the places I have visited to eat. She sold me on a few things I definitely need to try once I come back. Definitely worth coming out! :)“

“Kids eat for $1.99 on Sundays. The chicken tenders are good the Fry's are good. The hot wings are good. Also the chicken and waffles are delicious and the combo is 5.99 on Wednesday. My kids like the food here. What I don't like is you have to ask for key to use the restroom. They use to have tvs playing the sports shows and now they are always off. They use to have jazz music playing and now they don't. At the other slims chickens the tvs work and the restrooms are unlocked.“

“I cannot thank your staff enough! I regrettably placed an order for an early Thanksgiving meal for 25 people at another establishment, but it never arrived as scheduled yesterday. I called your store and your staff was eager to help! Within 45 minutes we had food for 25 people, including an array of delicious sides. Thank you to everyone on the Cowboy Chicken team who contributed to saving our holiday feast yesterday. We have always loved your store and your food but now you certainly have a regular and loyal customer for life! Keep up the great job!“

“I guess this was to be expected. We went for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was dry, they had stuffing and not dressing. The kitchen staff could not keep up with the high volume of people so a lot of the side items was not replaced for over 45 minutes to an hour. I ate more of the regular menu items than I did the Thanksgiving Dinner items. Sweet Potato Pie, Pumpkin Pie, sweet potato souffle or the ham. The organization was completely horrible. My daughter stood in line for over 30 minutes trying to get her some turkey just to learn that she was in the lounge for the steak that is grilled in front of the customers. Whoever planned and organized the cook station should have separated the turkey and ham from the steak grill. That would have shorten the long wait in line that 95% of the customers experienced.“
