6 Best Southern Restaurants near Mckinney

“After driving past this place for over a year, I finally stopped in, and I’m so glad I did!

I’ve been craving a good chicken salad sandwich, and this place did not disappoint. I ordered Lauryn’s Lemon Basil Melt on a croissant, and it was so light, fresh, and flavorful. They have so many tempting options that I already know I’ll be coming back again and again.

The restaurant has plenty of seating, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They happily remade my order when I asked to have it made as a melt. Great food and even better service!“

“All was great! Food, manager and service!“

“Wonderful place to go! Love the food and the drinks hands down a great place to visit in downtown McKinney!“

“We went to Kelly's last night for a Birthday Party. Food was great! Our service was unbelievably fast and accurate. Jordan was our server. Thank You for a wonderful evening!“

“The food was Amazingly Good! The service was perfection!!“

“We decided to eat here because another place nearby had a 45-minute wait. I'm glad we did. The wait time from arrival to being seated was maybe 4 minutes, and we did not get Quasimodo'd.
I had the chicken fried steak (pictured), and it was delicious. I also had the strawberry lemonade, which I highly recommend. However, the straws you serve with it should be boba straws so ye can slurp down the chunks of strawberries.
All in all the food was good the service was good, and the prices were fair. I recommend Cheddars.

8/9/2026 - Had lunch today at Cheddar's. We ordered the Sampler Appetizer (Queso Fries, Cheddar Bites, and Chicken Tenders). My wife ordered the Garlic Herb Chicken, and i ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich. Our meals and the Appetizer were delicious. Our server was very friendly and took care of us quickly and efficiently. Im just sorry I didn't get her name.
All in all, I still think Cheddar's is a great restaurant.“
