“Great location by the river, great outdoor bar. My husband liked the ribs and said the barbecue sauce was awesome. I liked the loaded baked potato. Service was very attentive. The owner was friendly and really cares. YES, we will definitely come back!Kid-friendliness: And dog friendly!“
“I am shocked at some of the lower starReviews unless they were from Dallas and looking for. A bougee restaurant. This place has good food friendly staff and clean chipperAtmosphere. What else couldYou want in a smalltown Mexican restaurant?“
“Headed home from Fort Worth on Hwy 281, we passed right by this place. We decided to try it and weren’t disappointed. The server was super sweet and told us all about the menu. I got the Chicken Fried Steak plate (of course) and my wife got the Cheeseburger combo. We were also offered chips and salsa.Chicken Fried Steak 8/10 - the CFS was pretty damn good! The only thing I would have changed was to cook it a wee bit longer to get the crust a tad crispier. The flavor was great though and it was tender enough. The gravy was good as well. The Mashed Potatoes were homemade and whipped fine. The Fried Okra as average.Cheeseburger 9/10 - my said it was one of the best burgers she’s ever had. She got it with a homemade Jalapeño bun, with all the fixings. It came with Seasoned French Fries which were delicious. The patty was thick and the veggies were fresh. Great combo if you ask me.Chips and Salsa 5/10 - the salsa was ok, nothing spectacular. Chips were just ok as well. It was a decent appetizer.Service 9/10 - Josie was our server and was phenomenal. Very attentive and helpful. Wish there were more like her!!Atmosphere 7/10 - the restaurant was a little older, but cozy enough. Several rooms in which to sit. It was next to an older motel, with plenty of parking.Overall 8/10 - if we ever come that way again, the do breakfast all day and I’m definitely doing that too. I highly recommend the Big Cup Eatery when in Glen Rose, Texas!“
