“This place is a hidden treasure - Although I've driven close to The Hitchcock Post many hundreds of times, I had no idea that it even existed until a couple of nights ago when a friend who is familiar with the establishment took me there.

Arriving close to midnight, the bar was busy but not too crowded and we managed to find a vacant table almost immediately. Someone arrived very quickly at our table to take our drink orders and she came across as being very polite, friendly and knowledgeable about what drinks were available. After taking our order it only took a couple of minutes before she returned to the table with our drinks.

There was a mixed bag of patrons in the bar ranging in age from around the mid 20s all the way up to people in their 60s. It was definitely a friendly crowd, split roughly equally between male & female and I would say that the majority of people were well-dressed in going out attire which thankfully wasn't too formal.

The juke box was loud enough to be heard but at the same time wasn't overpowering, and the restroom was very clean and well maintained.

This is definitely a place that I'll be returning to now that I've found it. I'm not sure if food is served there, but if it is then I'll definitely be making my next visit around dinner time.

All in all, having a drink at The Hitchcock Post was a perfect way to finish off a long and tiring day.”

“Mi Molcasalsa Taco Shop Been coming here for years, they always make the best fresh Tacos! They give you decent sized plates and make the burritos and tacos fat. Always order three flour tacos from here. Can’t go wrong with the crispy bacon and eggs or cilantro and onion Barbacoa Tacos 🌮 🤤 Give this place a try. You will enjoy the flavors at this hidden gem. Everyone here is very polite and nice, English and Spanish is spoken.”

“Stopped in for a quick Breakfast and I have to say Randi was absolutely amazing! Hands down the best service. My 3 year old is autistic so we try not to go out to often. “Dining at Aki Sushi. I had a fantastic experience at Aki Sushi with my wife. We started with steamed dumplings, which were delightful. My wife had the tonkatsu ramen, a dish bursting with fresh flavors, along with the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu sashimi. I tried the smoked brisket ramen, a unique and delicious dish, and unagi with foie gras sushi wow !!! is all I have to say about that one. We also enjoyed a salmon skin roll, one of my favorites. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff ensuring a memorable meal. Aki Sushi stands out with their fresh wasabi ground tableside and fresh, never-frozen bluefin tuna. Highly recommend for anyone who loves sushi and ramen!”

“Had the pleasure of going there with my son and Linda and Lisa were soooo nice. They let us try the custard Ice cream Mango, Strawberry and Rasberry Pistachio were to die for!! Great service!! Highly recommended!! I’m from FL and 2 hours away from were we were staying and it was worth the drive and Lisa even gave me ideas to visit in Gavelston while we visited Texas. Will return soon. “Went for the first time on Sunday. Upon entering, we approached the check in/ cashier desk. Wait staff were walking back & forth as we stood & no one said a word. No greeting, not we will be right with you. Not a word! One young lady ( Wish I would have gotten her name) she was sitting right there, preparing serving utensils. She did not say a word as we stood there. I've never felt so uncomfortable, unwelcome, & disregarded! Never! Finally, another wait staff that was helping over at the check out computer, walked over & asked the young lady who was sitting there to assist us! Still, not a word to us! The young lady stood up & with the worse attitude, she asked did we want to sit inside or outside. While I was asking my husband his preference, she rolled her eyes & and rudely asked , " Inside or out!? Again, I wish I had asked her name, but she appeared to be the youngest. Between being disregarded as we walked in & stood, and her attitude, I told my husband I was uncomfortable & wanted to leave! He pushed back & said let's give it a chance beyond this! So we stayed & were seated outside as we preferred. Then comes our waitress! What a pleasant surprise & she turned our experience around! We learned that she had not been there but 3 days or 3 weeks. ( I forget) her name is Amanda & she is pregnant. She's such a pleasant & nice person! We felt badly for sitting outside, because she worked so diligently. It was quite a walk in the heat, because we chose to sit outside on the pier that was a bit of a walk. Again, she was so pleasant & professional! The drinks & food are superb! From the oyster 🦪 appetizers, to the platters! Delicious! Some of the best seafood & side orders, ever! Truly! Drinks are flavorful, delicious, and they aren't stingy or scarce with the liquor. 😆 I would absolutely visit again, but truly afraid of the treatment, unless it's Amanda again”

“I frequently visit the vineyard when in the area, as my mother-in-law is a wine club member here. I've always had an enjoyable experience at this establishment. Today, we celebrated my mother-in-law's retirement from her career, as a teacher. The two bartenders were exceptionally friendly and provided excellent guidance as we selected wines. We thoroughly appreciated the welcoming atmosphere and outstanding customer service. ♡”

“Marais was wonderful! My CuzzoBestieSisteriend was in town from California. I wanted to try a new spot and have some bestie time! I selected the perfect spot!! MARAIS!!! Walking up to the venue, jazz music was playing. This put me in my happy zone immediately!! It set the mood right out the gate. We were seated with no wait. We made a reservation. Nick was our server. He was very personable. Top notch table maintenance and follow-up! Now, let's talk about the delicious food! We had the $40 brunch buffet. We felt it was as worth it! I tried the following: gumbo, bacon, sausage, hash potatoes, chicken & waffles, fried fish, greens, smoked salmon, boiled shrimp, grits..,,whewwww! I didn't get to enjoy the omelet station or the carving station. More reason to return...AND WE WILL! We washed it down with mimosas with OJ and PJ! Tasty tasty. We couldn't believe a full bottle of was only $10. I was expecting a champagne split not bottle! There is a bar area right off of the buffet lines. The bar has swings!! Like “when you were a kid” swings!! Also, there is patio seating too! Live jazz music was playing the entire time we were there! Again, another reason to return!! Great experience all the way around!
