Coming down from New Orleans craving fuzhounese food, the food does hit certain spots. It has the spirits of fuzhou but not identical. I would say it’s pretty okay. Older men at the front end should smile more :)
What a fantastic place. Came here and had a surprisingly good breakfast that I’ve never had before. Henry recommended the peanut noodles and the wing ton noodles and it was awesome.

China Gourmet 福州风味小吃 offers authentic Fuzhou cuisine, featuring a variety of dishes like flat pork, noodles, shrimp cakes, spring rolls, oyster cakes, and taro paste. Diners recommend the seafood egg and swallow noodles, taro cakes, and oyster cakes. The restaurant is praised for its real Fuzhou snacks and friendly service. It's an ideal place for those who appreciate Taiwanese-style tapas.
The restaurant has an old-fashioned look, which usually signals great food. The menu features Chinese dishes, and the servers are helpful in explaining the options, though language barriers may arise. Customers have enjoyed the fresh and delicious home-style Chinese local food, including the fish ball and peanuts rice ball. The spacious and easy-to-talk atmosphere makes it a good choice for brunch and dinner.
Diners have tried various Fuzhou specialties, such as flat meat, niuhualaohua, and oyster pies, and found them to be very tasty. The service is good, and the food is served quickly. Both adults and kids have appreciated the flavors, with the flat meat and pies with vinegar being popular among the little ones, and the tender beef in niuhualaohua being a hit with the adults. Overall, the restaurant provides a great food adventure and is highly recommended for those interested in Fuzhou cuisine.
