“My husband and I make so many excuses just to eat at Grandma Noodle! Its worth the drive though!! I get the Bimbibap and rolled egg. Its my comfort food also my favorite lol. We have tried other dishes as well. Kimchi stew is so delicious and soothing! The fried rice is also pretty good. We tried the mackerel and I am not a fan of fish but enjoyed it. I recommend a try if you are wanting to feel like you are eating at a home and not juay typical restaurant food this is definitely the place. “My family has been coming to North China for 40 years, starting back when it was run by the previous generation of the family owners and when it was tucked away near memorial city mall.

I have always appreciated the service, the uniquely prepared dishes like Beijing fish filets and sandong beef that I cannot get anywhere else, and their distinct preparations of staples like hot and sour soup (they serve this soup super piping hot and add delicious pickled Chinese radish/greens to it). An added bonus are their comfort food style Korean dishes—something that is again pretty unique for a Chinese restaurant to offer.

I was still in elementary school when my parents would take me here. Now I am the parent and I take my own family here regularly, even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.

“My second favorite Thai food place in northwest Houston. Everything is very good the service is used to be slow but has improved. if you like spicey you can bump it up a notch here their spice level is not extreme. The pad thai and panang curry are both very good.“

“Cool little Thai cafe...absolutely amazing flavors reminds me of my travels east. The beef curry was outstanding , pad Thai was really good, eggrolls perfect. The Thai tea was the best I ever had. If your in the area I'd strongly recommend stopping by this authentic Thai restaurant!! Oh and the owners and employees here are really friendly. What a warm enjoyable place for lunch.“

“Since this restaurant is near my office, walking distance actually, I tried this after it being recommended by some co-workers. They were right! The food is exceptional, spice levels for whatever you are able to handle, and the seating area is perfect for any lunch time group.“

Fried chicken was great. Fried octopus appetizer was also appreciated with different condiment powder choices for dipping.

Potato salad also excellent and a favorite of partner.

Ramen portions are abundant so either come very hungry or be prepared to take some home

“My first visit here was absolutely fantastic! The two young staff members were incredibly warm and attentive. I really loved the rice—and if you want an extra serving, it’s only $1.50. The bone broth was excellent, too; it was rich and flavorful, and the meat was cooked until it was incredibly tender. The kimchi was the best I’ve ever had, and the shop itself was spotless and tidy. Highly recommended! 👍“

Service and atmosphere:
Service was friendly and quick.
The place is located in the area that has a few different eateries next to each other which gives it food hall like vibe but in a good way. The food is served at the bar area.

Food and drinks:
The pho soup was good and didn't disappoint. Soft noodles and thin sliced meat. The broth was balanced and had good amount of garnish. A bit of chilli sauce did the trick too.
Spring rolls were good but the peanut sauce was too salty.

Pricing:

“Fabulous beef noodle soup. Meat was tender with lean and fatty pieces. Beef was not gamey. Noodles were al dente. Broth was clean, but could’ve been a bit richer for another level of deliciousness. (if you’re Vietnamese, it’s like BBH without the oily lemongrass broth). Fried egg was interesting. It didn’t really add to the flavors but was a nice treat. Only vegetables was broccoli. Probably better with Chinese broccoli or some other ask greens. Overall, nice bowl of noodle soup for $11.99. Generous portion. Free hot tea and self service utensils.“

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and their consistency has been a relief compared to many other establishments. They do a few things and do them really well. The beef hor fun was perfectly charred, the garlic ribs were crispy and fragrant, and the sizzling beef was tender and juicy. Great value for the price, too. We left full and happy.
