“Good afternoon everyone! We attended Gen Korean BBQ House in Houston, Tx on Friday 7/5/2023. My family And I were in for a visit from Louisiana and decided to eat here for a couple of reasons; Reason 1: My daughter and I have a very severe allergy to Iodine/Seafood so we're very very limited to what we can eat but with Korean BBQ we can pick out meats and safely cook it on a grill that hasn't been exposed to any seafood products! Reason 2: We don't have very many, if any Korean BBQ spots in Lake Charles, La and we absolutely love this food. So we chose to go to Gen Korean BBQ but to our surprise our hostess/waitress was Extremely rude! not just once or twice but, throughout the whole dining experience! My fiance requested another waiter or waitress after speaking to the manager but nothing was done besides him saying he would speak to the rude waitress, that's unacceptable so we quietly left! I'm not sure if she was having a bad night or this is generally how she acts but where I'm from this is not acceptable and speaks volumes about her character!“

“This is going to be my new go to spot for jajangmyeon. It hit all the right notes for me. Thick noodles and thick sauce with excellent texture and flavor. The kimchi pancake was very crisp and had plenty of kimchi flavor complemented with the sauce. My wife's kimchi stew was the perfect amount of sour for me and the pork rib was tender. Service was quick and efficient.“

“I would choose to have the Jjampong and spicy stir fried chicken from Manna Noodle house as the meal to eat for the rest of my life. Honorable menu mentions are their Pork Tonkatsu and Jjolmyeon! I have been coming here for years and the food is consistently delicious, hot and fresh every time. The owners and chef are very nice and they always have great recomendations on how to eat your food and what flavor combos would be best. I wish I lived closer so that I could come here more often, but I happily drive the way here when I am craving korean food, I won't go anywhere else. I love you Manna Noodle House ❤“

“I've been coming here for almost 20 years, mostly for lunch. The food is consistently good and they get you in and out quickly, which is great, though it can get packed during the lunch hour depending on the day.

The main reason I'm a regular is the staff. They know me by name and are just genuinely nice people who look out for their customers. I eat gluten-free, and they are always careful with it. On the rare occasion something came out wrong, they didn't just fix it—they actually remade it and personally delivered it.

It's a solid, reliable spot whether you're meeting someone for business or just grabbing a quick bite with a friend. Good food, fair lunch prices, and a team that actually cares.“

“We were greeted really nicely by aunties. They took our order and then brought out a little salad. Then brought the side dishes out with our meal. Everything felt freshly made to order. It took a little time for the soups to come out but no complaints after it came out. Worth the wait. Everything was so so flavorful. The soup was packed with the silkiest tofu I have ever had. Each soup was $15.99+ and came with freshly made rice in a stone pot. Will definitely go again.“

“Great environment! I came for my graduation celebration with friends, and I really liked how much room I had to calmly eat and just enjoy being out of high school. Food was good, ice cream was great, the staff was kind and patient!“

“Visited on New Year’s Eve. The Korean food is bold, authentic, and well seasoned, with a great variety of drinks. Soju is a must. Later at night there was a DJ, good music, and a fun vibe that made eating and drinking very enjoyable. The crowd was mostly younger people living abroad or locals who grew up here.

One small downside was the reservation system. I initially booked a regular table, but it was later canceled because they only accept reservations for karaoke rooms. To be fair, the table option was removed from the system afterward. Luckily, we walked in around 8 pm and had no problem getting a table, as the place really starts filling up closer to 9:30 or 10 pm.

Overall, still a lively and enjoyable spot, especially later at night.“

For the most part we eat the same thing, the wife, fried kimchi with pork and I the spicy seafood tofu soup. The Banchan dishes 😋.

Everyone came by and made sure we were doing ok, refilled drinks, removed empty dishes, even offering more banchan when they saw it we had eaten ours. The food was all really good. We ordered a la carte: chicken bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, and beef bulgogi, and when we were finished, someone even packed our leftovers for us and brought me some more kimchi to go. The meat came with banchan, salad, rice and a soup. We also tried the seafood pancake, fried dumplings, and japchae. Very happy with all of it!
