“A friend invited me to a birthday party here, and this place delivered the ultimate vibes! There is indoor and outdoor seating available, and we chose to seat outside given the nice tent covering with string lights and the cooler temperatures outside (the one day a year that Houston is perfect weather wise). Since we had a large party, we all ordered a variety of items on the menu and I was able to taste test quite a few. Typically, restaurants tend to specialize in one or two items, but I was impressed with almost everything I tasted (i.e. rice cakes, chicken wings, spicy pork belly, marinated grilled ribs, rose tteok-beokki, seaweed rice balls, etc.). Although we sat outside, we were still well taken care of. There is an electronic notification system if you were to need a member of the staff outside, and they responded quickly when called. The food was also served quickly and fresh despite how busy the restaurant is on a Saturday night. When we surprised the birthday girls with cakes, the staff even brought out birthday signs and sang the birthday song, which was a nice touch. Overall, everyone in the party was happy with the experience, especially the birthday stars. Saving this to one of my new favorite Korean restaurants.“

“Came in on a Friday at 5:30 and I’m surprised this place isn’t packed! The interior was clean, spacious, and very well decorated (this was during Halloween season).
My friend and I came in during happy hour so all the drinks were half price. I ordered the Moscow mule, The Tokyo tea, and some Tteok-boki.
The Moscow Mule was delicious! The drink was refreshing and I loved the spicy kick from the ginger. I ended up ordering one more since I really enjoyed it. I wish I could say the same thing about the Tokyo tea but I couldn’t bring myself to drink more than 3 sips. As for my friend, she enjoyed her French Martini (I believe that was the drink she got)
As for the Tteok-Boki, the rice cakes were nice and chewy, the veggies on top were great, and the sauce was sweet, spicy, and savory!
Overall, if you’re looking for a spot with a ton of drink options, this place is it!“

“Missed SGD since the Katy location closed so decided to visit the original location. Love their combos so we can get a variety of dishes and I always love a tofu soup. Also they have an item called Cold Bibimbap which we haven't seen at other places which we love as a light and cool entree. Bonchan (little sides) are varied and consistently tasty. Service was responsive and pleasant. The service call button helps get staff attention. We were frequent customers of the Katy location so I'm glad we can still get a taste close-ish to home.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bori and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The aroma of sizzling meats on the grill immediately whetted my appetite. The highlight of the evening was, of course, the mouthwatering selection of meats. The quality and freshness of the cuts were exceptional, and grilling them to perfection right at our table was not only delicious but also incredibly fun. The marinated options were bursting with flavor, and the staff's guidance on cooking times was spot-on. The ambiance was delightful, with a modern and clean decor that made for a comfortable dining setting. It was evident that the restaurant takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, which is especially important in the current times. If you're looking for a fantastic Korean BBQ experience, Bori is undoubtedly the place to go. I highly recommend it!“

“Best Korean Egg Sandwich I’ve ever had. This is my second time eating here. The restaurant is inside of H-Mart in the food court
Make sure you add the garlic bread option to your order.
The bread is so thick and perfectly crisp and crunchy. Great place for a snack before you grocery shop. Or lunch if you’re on the area.“

“First time eating legit Korean food.
You can cook your own Korean barbecue.
We left the cooking up to the experts.
The best kimchi I’ve ever had.
The best mulmandu (dumplings), too.
Everything — roasted eel (jahng-uh gui) and beef (bulgogi bibimbap) were delicious.
We also splurged on Korean rice wine (makgeolli) - which is served and drink in a very particular way. It tasted a bit like sake. Very enjoyable.
Very clean restaurant.
I love that there’s a doorbell that you can push at your own table for service.
Every single staff member was incredibly kind and polite, and willing to help us navigate our way through our meal.
Parking: Large lot.
Plenty of space.“

“Good afternoon everyone! We attended Gen Korean BBQ House in Houston, Tx on Friday 7/5/2023. My family And I were in for a visit from Louisiana and decided to eat here for a couple of reasons; Reason 1: My daughter and I have a very severe allergy to Iodine/Seafood so we're very very limited to what we can eat but with Korean BBQ we can pick out meats and safely cook it on a grill that hasn't been exposed to any seafood products! Reason 2: We don't have very many, if any Korean BBQ spots in Lake Charles, La and we absolutely love this food. So we chose to go to Gen Korean BBQ but to our surprise our hostess/waitress was Extremely rude! not just once or twice but, throughout the whole dining experience! My fiance requested another waiter or waitress after speaking to the manager but nothing was done besides him saying he would speak to the rude waitress, that's unacceptable so we quietly left! I'm not sure if she was having a bad night or this is generally how she acts but where I'm from this is not acceptable and speaks volumes about her character!“

“Jumma and the hot stone place next to it are probably my favorite spots in this dining hall!
Jumma has the best tteokbokki (rice cake) here and they give you a big portion for an affordable price. Their kimchi is always fresh and their gyozas are delicious. I stop by here pretty often for lunch, it does get a little busy around that time, but food comes out pretty quick!
Parking: Parking is located in the Super Hmart shopping center“

“Dinners with Dad, Lunch edition, Houston prefecture, episode 732-ish…dad was craving jambong but he can’t eat spicy anymore so we originally were all geeked up to go to Paik Noodle House (which is a chain from Koreans favorite chef) but they were closed on Tuesdays and not sure if ‘geeked up’ described my dad’s demeanor but it makes for a better story…found this place not far from Paik’s in the 5th layer of Houston…one lady running the front and a little Hispanic lady helping her in the back…food was gooooooooood…only complaint was they used the wrong kinda noodles for his jampong…we ate half of what we ordered but it was all delicious! Highly recommend!“

“This was a disappointing eating experience. The food flavors were OK. The banchan was average.
The service was slow and there is a need for us to cause the bring them over through the call button and bang for buck.
There is ample parking.
The location is clean in the interior.
I’d recommend going to a different Korean restaurant in town. I will not be returning.“

“Go Hyang Jib Korean restaurant is truly a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Chinatown. It has become my go-to spot for delicious Atka mackerel grilled fish and mouthwatering sashimi on rice dishes. One of the highlights of dining here is the variety of flavorful soups, especially the seafood soup, which never fails to impress.Having been a loyal patron for the past 15 years, I can attest to the consistent quality of their food. While there may be occasional long waits during busy periods, the enduring kindness of the lady who has been a fixture there for years makes the experience worthwhile. Her dedication to providing excellent service is truly commendable.Despite the potential for longer wait times, the wait is always worth it as every visit guarantees well-marinated and fresh seafood dishes served in generous portions. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food offered. If you're seeking an authentic Korean dining experience hidden within Chinatown, I highly recommend Go Hyang Jib Korean restaurant. Just be prepared to exercise a little patience during peak hours, and you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable culinary journey.“

“I ordered Lobster roll, and came back another day to try the oyster roll, and let me tell y'all, I have high expectations on Sushi restaurant due to the luxury experience I've always had in the past in some Japanese fusion places, and Uma Japanese restaurant met those expectations.
I can confidently say its one of the best in the area, its very much affordable compared to the luxurious sushi places I've been to, while matching the quality.
Its a quite nice restaurant with related theme to the japanese culture.
I recommend visiting a 100%“

“We came with no expectations and immediately seeing that they specialized in the wang jokbal and served little else we went for that. the medium portion was 38.99 but could probably serve 4 people. My lady and i went to town on it and left stuffed with plenty of leftovers. The texture is phenomenal and the flavor is spot on. Such a triumph to create something so incredible out of such a humble ingredient. They cook it long and slice it to the perfect thinness. Whatever else they do, it works. This place is a culinary inspiration and I'm so glad it exists.“

“My husband’s Korean colleagues highly recommend this place, so we decided to give it a try this week. Our friends sent us some photos of the dishes they recommended and it turned out those are off menu items— ox foot soup (joktang) and pork backbone & potato hotpot (gamjatang). Both are delicious. The ox foot soup is rich, and tastes really good. The potato hotpot is not very spicy. We also ordered Corn Cheese which is not in the picture. It is a side dish loaded with lots of corn and melty, gooey mozzarella cheese! It is so creamy and darn good. Service is excellent. I also like the private seating and definitely will come back with friends.“

“"Ziggle Ziggle" (meaning "sizzle sizzle" in Korean) at the Blalock H-Mart is a great choice for those seeking quality Korean food at an affordable price. I ordered hot stone bulgogi bibimbap and it exceeded my expectations (I especially liked the "Nurungji" part or the crust of overcooked rice). While the side dishes and soup were not particularly exciting, they were acceptable given the price point. The staff was very friendly. I would come back to explore other menus.“

“Im a avid Korean chicken eater and i have to say this is the best place i’ve had in a while. My local wing place by me closed and i’ve been looking for another worthy contender and this definitely competes. Everything is fried fresh right when you order and it shows. I got the sweet and spicy and my friend got the normal fried chicken and they were incredible. Not only were pieces great sizes for the price, they were crispy and had so much flavor. The box it comes in as well has pickled radish, gloves, and napkins. The sauce is flavorful and you can tell the chicken was made with care. I can say this 1000 times but The ToreOre is miles better than BBQ chicken. If you are ever in H-Mart or even in the area you have to try this place. For me it was a 25 minute drive but i would drive 1 hour for this. I’m excited to go try more on their menu. 10/10 fabulous!!“
