“Came here for my birthday and had a private room, and I want to come back just for the food! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we felt so spoiled and taken care of while enjoying karaoke in our room. It's been a couple of months since we've been, but I haven't stopped thinking about the place or the food and am happy to drive an hour to visit again. Highly recommend for good eats or a fun night!“

“My husband and I make so many excuses just to eat at Grandma Noodle! Its worth the drive though!! I get the Bimbibap and rolled egg. Its my comfort food also my favorite lol. We have tried other dishes as well. Kimchi stew is so delicious and soothing! The fried rice is also pretty good. We tried the mackerel and I am not a fan of fish but enjoyed it. I recommend a try if you are wanting to feel like you are eating at a home and not juay typical restaurant food this is definitely the place. I feel so welcomed everytime we come here, like eating with family ♥“

“Good afternoon everyone! We attended Gen Korean BBQ House in Houston, Tx on Friday 7/5/2023. My family And I were in for a visit from Louisiana and decided to eat here for a couple of reasons; Reason 1: My daughter and I have a very severe allergy to Iodine/Seafood so we're very very limited to what we can eat but with Korean BBQ we can pick out meats and safely cook it on a grill that hasn't been exposed to any seafood products! Reason 2: We don't have very many, if any Korean BBQ spots in Lake Charles, La and we absolutely love this food. So we chose to go to Gen Korean BBQ but to our surprise our hostess/waitress was Extremely rude! not just once or twice but, throughout the whole dining experience! My fiance requested another waiter or waitress after speaking to the manager but nothing was done besides him saying he would speak to the rude waitress, that's unacceptable so we quietly left! I'm not sure if she was having a bad night or this is generally how she acts but where I'm from this is not acceptable and speaks volumes about her character!“

“My first visit here was absolutely fantastic! The two young staff members were incredibly warm and attentive. I really loved the rice—and if you want an extra serving, it’s only $1.50. The bone broth was excellent, too; it was rich and flavorful, and the meat was cooked until it was incredibly tender. The kimchi was the best I’ve ever had, and the shop itself was spotless and tidy. “The best Paik's noodle location I've been to! Just with the kitchen staff differences, my experience with this chain restaurant has not been even across the board. My husband I ordered the crispy pork, Jjampong rice, and black noodles with spicy peppers. Sooo good! Portions are huge and we took the rest of it home.“

“My family has been coming to North China for 40 years, starting back when it was run by the previous generation of the family owners and when it was tucked away near memorial city mall.

I have always appreciated the service, the uniquely prepared dishes like Beijing fish filets and sandong beef that I cannot get anywhere else, and their distinct preparations of staples like hot and sour soup (they serve this soup super piping hot and add delicious pickled Chinese radish/greens to it). An added bonus are their comfort food style Korean dishes—something that is again pretty unique for a Chinese restaurant to offer.

I was still in elementary school when my parents would take me here. Now I am the parent and I take my own family here regularly, even though it’s a bit of a drive for us.

“I ate here last night with my mom and daughter. We had a great experience! Everyone came by and made sure we were doing ok, refilled drinks, removed empty dishes, even offering more banchan when they saw it we had eaten ours. The food was all really good. We ordered a la carte: chicken bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, and beef bulgogi, and when we were finished, someone even packed our leftovers for us and brought me some more kimchi to go. The meat came with banchan, salad, rice and a soup. We also tried the seafood pancake, fried dumplings, and japchae. Very happy with all of it! “Went to visit Houston for a work trip and stopped by here with some coworkers. Outside of the restaurant was unassuming, but I knew as soon as we walked in that this was an older establishment that offered more authentic, rustic, and home style Korean food. I was pleasantly surprised by the bulgogi, spicy chicken stew, spicy stir fried chicken breast, and banchan - all like the kind of food my mother would have cooked. We loved it. We would definitely go back whenever we wanted something more traditional and authentic.“

“Have been going to BobZip for a while now and have been meaning to write a review. I have always been very satisfied with the portion sizes and the food. At this point I have pretty much had at least all of the permanent menu items and tried the daily specials at least once, all of which were really good!

The staff is always friendly and going to get my food from them is typically a highlight of any workday. This is a gem of the Allen Center food court.“

“Visited on New Year’s Eve. The Korean food is bold, authentic, and well seasoned, with a great variety of drinks. Soju is a must. Later at night there was a DJ, good music, and a fun vibe that made eating and drinking very enjoyable. The crowd was mostly younger people living abroad or locals who grew up here.

One small downside was the reservation system. I initially booked a regular table, but it was later canceled because they only accept reservations for karaoke rooms. To be fair, the table option was removed from the system afterward. Luckily, we walked in around 8 pm and had no problem getting a table, as the place really starts filling up closer to 9:30 or 10 pm.

Overall, still a lively and enjoyable spot, especially later at night.“

For the most part we eat the same thing, the wife, fried kimchi with pork and I the spicy seafood tofu soup. The Banchan dishes 😋.
