“Came in on a Friday at 5:30 and I’m surprised this place isn’t packed! The interior was clean, spacious, and very well decorated (this was during Halloween season).
My friend and I came in during happy hour so all the drinks were half price. I ordered the Moscow mule, The Tokyo tea, and some Tteok-boki.
The Moscow Mule was delicious! The drink was refreshing and I loved the spicy kick from the ginger. I ended up ordering one more since I really enjoyed it. I wish I could say the same thing about the Tokyo tea but I couldn’t bring myself to drink more than 3 sips. As for my friend, she enjoyed her French Martini (I believe that was the drink she got)
As for the Tteok-Boki, the rice cakes were nice and chewy, the veggies on top were great, and the sauce was sweet, spicy, and savory!
Overall, if you’re looking for a spot with a ton of drink options, this place is it!“

“A friend invited me to a birthday party here, and this place delivered the ultimate vibes! There is indoor and outdoor seating available, and we chose to seat outside given the nice tent covering with string lights and the cooler temperatures outside (the one day a year that Houston is perfect weather wise). Since we had a large party, we all ordered a variety of items on the menu and I was able to taste test quite a few. Typically, restaurants tend to specialize in one or two items, but I was impressed with almost everything I tasted (i.e. rice cakes, chicken wings, spicy pork belly, marinated grilled ribs, rose tteok-beokki, seaweed rice balls, etc.). Although we sat outside, we were still well taken care of. There is an electronic notification system if you were to need a member of the staff outside, and they responded quickly when called. The food was also served quickly and fresh despite how busy the restaurant is on a Saturday night. When we surprised the birthday girls with cakes, the staff even brought out birthday signs and sang the birthday song, which was a nice touch. Overall, everyone in the party was happy with the experience, especially the birthday stars. Saving this to one of my new favorite Korean restaurants.“

“Newbies to Korean BBQ. The CHEF was AMAZING!! Not only did he come over to our table, he cooked all of our food on the hot plate and explained all the food, flavors and how to cook it ourselves next time. Best experience I’ve had in awhile eating out!“

“Got seawoo bimbimbap, chicken rice, seafood noodle, kimchi stew, and snails. All of the food was great, very savory with big portion sizes. My favorite was the chicken rice- the chicken comes from a local farm, and you can tell the quality difference! The rice was also very yummy with very savory broth. The snails and noodles were quite tasty! The owners were very nice; would definitely come back!“

“SGD Tofu House is the most authentic Korean restaurant I’ve tried in Houston. The Soon Tofu Soup is incredibly silky, the Grilled Beef Ribs are bursting with aroma, and the generous portion of Jokbal left our whole family full and satisfied! The authentic Korean flavors and variety of side dishes are unforgettable. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely return!“

“I ordered the original spicy chicken wing and chicken rice bowl for takeout. The chicken wing was so crispy and delicious, and the rice bowl looked so good that it was a waste to eat. It tasted so good, too. The environment was super friendly and the service was impeccable. If you're ever around the area I highly recommend checking this place out!“

“Dinners with Dad, Lunch edition, Houston prefecture, episode 732-ish…dad was craving jambong but he can’t eat spicy anymore so we originally were all geeked up to go to Paik Noodle House (which is a chain from Koreans favorite chef) but they were closed on Tuesdays and not sure if ‘geeked up’ described my dad’s demeanor but it makes for a better story…found this place not far from Paik’s in the 5th layer of Houston…one lady running the front and a little Hispanic lady helping her in the back…food was gooooooooood…only complaint was they used the wrong kinda noodles for his jampong…we ate half of what we ordered but it was all delicious! Highly recommend!“

“I ordered number 6(Mozza dog), 9(potato hot dog), Tteok-bokki and slushy sweet rice drink. The taste of dogs doesn't always disappoint me. The taste of Tteok-bokki I ordered for the first time was so delicious as it reminded me of the taste of eating in Korea. The taste of homemade slushy sweet rice was also sweet and delicious, perfect for eating with spicy Tteok-bokki. The staff are super friendly. I like this spot!!“

“This was a disappointing eating experience. The food flavors were OK. The banchan was average.
The service was slow and there is a need for us to cause the bring them over through the call button and bang for buck.
There is ample parking.
The location is clean in the interior.
I’d recommend going to a different Korean restaurant in town. I will not be returning.“

“Good afternoon everyone! We attended Gen Korean BBQ House in Houston, Tx on Friday 7/5/2023. My family And I were in for a visit from Louisiana and decided to eat here for a couple of reasons; Reason 1: My daughter and I have a very severe allergy to Iodine/Seafood so we're very very limited to what we can eat but with Korean BBQ we can pick out meats and safely cook it on a grill that hasn't been exposed to any seafood products! Reason 2: We don't have very many, if any Korean BBQ spots in Lake Charles, La and we absolutely love this food. So we chose to go to Gen Korean BBQ but to our surprise our hostess/waitress was Extremely rude! not just once or twice but, throughout the whole dining experience! My fiance requested another waiter or waitress after speaking to the manager but nothing was done besides him saying he would speak to the rude waitress, that's unacceptable so we quietly left! I'm not sure if she was having a bad night or this is generally how she acts but where I'm from this is not acceptable and speaks volumes about her character!“

“Our lunch at Jumma in Houston was a delightful experience. The fish katsu was perfectly crispy, and the chicken katsu was equally satisfying. The Bulgogi Rice was a standout, with flavorful marinated beef. The staff were attentive and helpful, enhancing our enjoyable meal.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bori and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The aroma of sizzling meats on the grill immediately whetted my appetite. The highlight of the evening was, of course, the mouthwatering selection of meats. The quality and freshness of the cuts were exceptional, and grilling them to perfection right at our table was not only delicious but also incredibly fun. The marinated options were bursting with flavor, and the staff's guidance on cooking times was spot-on. The ambiance was delightful, with a modern and clean decor that made for a comfortable dining setting. It was evident that the restaurant takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, which is especially important in the current times. If you're looking for a fantastic Korean BBQ experience, Bori is undoubtedly the place to go. I highly recommend it!“

“Go Hyang Jib Korean restaurant is truly a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Chinatown. It has become my go-to spot for delicious Atka mackerel grilled fish and mouthwatering sashimi on rice dishes. One of the highlights of dining here is the variety of flavorful soups, especially the seafood soup, which never fails to impress.Having been a loyal patron for the past 15 years, I can attest to the consistent quality of their food. While there may be occasional long waits during busy periods, the enduring kindness of the lady who has been a fixture there for years makes the experience worthwhile. Her dedication to providing excellent service is truly commendable.Despite the potential for longer wait times, the wait is always worth it as every visit guarantees well-marinated and fresh seafood dishes served in generous portions. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food offered. If you're seeking an authentic Korean dining experience hidden within Chinatown, I highly recommend Go Hyang Jib Korean restaurant. Just be prepared to exercise a little patience during peak hours, and you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable culinary journey.“

“This place has become a must do for our family. Relaxed atmosphere to hang out. The staff is always super friendl; The only issue is that sometimes they take a long time to come to the table (especially when we need the check). The food is always good. “Korean restaurants in the area are usually really good. This place is no exception. Prices are really high though, nearly $40 for an order of Kalbi. Banchan’s aren’t as plentiful or tasty as other places. Really enjoyed sweetened rice water they give after the mean.“

“Have been here for several times! Food is legit and authentic! Service is good too! The Jokbal and Bossam are “must-order”s. Kukbam and haejuntang are also yummy. Big portion with decent price - I can’t see any complaints about this place.
I saw that most bad reviews were about the “slow service “ during the soft opening, which I also have experienced the 1st time I stepped into this restaurant. BUT now they are extremely professional and friendly! Way to go JangChoongDong!“

“"Ziggle Ziggle" (meaning "sizzle sizzle" in Korean) at the Blalock H-Mart is a great choice for those seeking quality Korean food at an affordable price. I ordered hot stone bulgogi bibimbap and it exceeded my expectations (I especially liked the "Nurungji" part or the crust of overcooked rice). While the side dishes and soup were not particularly exciting, they were acceptable given the price point. The staff was very friendly. I would come back to explore other menus.“

“Nut allergy friendly! I've had several flavors of the chicken to go and it's always been fine.
We generally order the Hot & Spicy Chicken and the Fried Crispy Chicken. Generally 4-7 pieces per person is sufficient, especially if there are sides.
I really like the care they have in have a steam vent flap in the box. That helps prolong the crispiness of the chicken.
Unfortunately, the Hot & Spicy does not travel too well. Even a 15 minute drive leaves it less crispy than desired, due to the amount of sauce involved.
On the other hand, the Fried Crispy Chicken travels very well and maintains a nice crispy crunch even after 15-25 minutes of travel.
A pretty solid option in the grocery food store!“

“We had the samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) and san-nakji (live octopus), and both were fantastic. The samgyeopsal was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, especially when paired with the fresh sides and aged kimchi. The san-nakji was an exciting experience—fresh, chewy, and seasoned just right. The quality and authenticity of the food really stood out.“

“This is my 2nd time coming here and Tim was our server. His service is like you’re being treated by family. He gave us the newest updates to the menu since we last visited and it was all delicious 🤤 My favorites of the night were the mussels and the foie grois. Ask for extra bread because you’re going to slurp that mussel broth right up.“
