“Stopped in for steak night not knowing it was only served on Tuesday and Thursday. Seated ourselves and the waitress came right over. She was courteous and professional. Nice and casual, good for enjoying the game or just to relax and conversate. Had the orange blossom cocktail and it was really good! Not too sweet, just the right amount of fizz and it smelled amazing. Plan on returning to try the steak since it's so highly rated.“
“Our book club had a late St. Patrick's luncheon here. Excellent selection of beers on tap. The Black and Tan was perfect. Lots of other beverage choices hard and soft. I had the Irish breakfast which was filling and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their choices which were very varied. Service was excellent. Lots of TV Screens but at the time we were there they were muted and no one seemed to be watching.“
“A classic Irish bar with beer cocktails and pizza, just like in the old country. Decent patio seating, welcoming atmosphere, ok drinks. I was sad to find no leprechauns in the whole place, but I just didn't look hard enough. Dart boards are a big plus. Parking is shared with neighboring businesses, and if it wasn't Wednesday night like when I tried it, I bet parking is a pain in the behind. Uber and Lyft are your friends, so are whiskey shots and your nearest bar patrons. This has been a commonly picked spot to meet up with friends for years in my life, and has a nice Houston relaxed vibe. The run-down area is classic Houston too, it looks and feels better at night and with a good buzz going.“
“Thjs place is better than i would have imagined. The service was great and the food was outstanding. I watchwd this show called outlander and told my self. Man i never tried Irish food and st pattys day was around the corner and dear god was i lucky to come in early the place has live shows. I recommend this place to everyone i knkw and i will be coming back to try all their meals in the menu. The Irish Coffee is my fav drink now give it a try if you go. Also i dont own this place or know anyone in there i just loved it lol“
“You know how theres that place where every one knows your name.. Thats nikkis. You member when the beastie boys said " you got a right to party!!".. You do that a nikkis. When people say the got friends in low places.. Those friends are at nikkis. So like they say on The Price is Right!!.. COME ON DOWN!!!“
“This is the best place to go to if you like a calm and laid back place to have a few drinks. Melissa is the *best* bartender here and is wonderful company too. I reccomend this place if you are trying to unwind after work or after a long day. I have only ever had wonderful experiences when Melissa was taking care of us. Thank you!!“
“Did not know this place was here until we had a company event. This place is pretty cool and I love everything about it, there is plenty of seating inside and outside, they have two even spaces which is awesome! The sushi place is right beside it and they have all kinds of drinks. I definitely want to come back!“
“Great place for groups to gather. Food is sensational and beer is great! Sorry no pictures this time. I had the shepherd's pie, the rye bread is really really good, Reuben sandwich that others ordered look really good too. I recommend this restaurant and pub“
“Great sports bar to watch our teams play. Plenty of TV screens available inside and in the deck to watch our Astros! Sat at the bar on Tuesday steak night. The steaks were perfectly cooked as ordered with delicious side vegetables. The bartenders (both female) were very nice and attentive. This was our first time here. We will return often!!“
“I loved that they offered video games! It was a very cool experience being able to sit and connect with others at the bar while playing Mario Kart! KT had other games as well. She even had a drink specials based on Mario Kart which I thought was very neat! Her service was great and I felt very welcomed! Will definitely be coming back!“
“Happy New Year! A local hangout with a great staff and many local regulars waiting to make your acquaintance. With a good selection of draught beer (yes, Guinness) and liquor, you're sure to find something to drink. Darts and television for additional entertainment. They also have a great covered patio to enjoy company of friends or to enjoy alone.“
“This is a your quintessential neighborhood bar - and fills a niche that the closest bars around it don't meet. You may get fancier cocktails and food at Toasted Coconut or more of a scene at Nonno's, or more of a vibe at 93 Til, but sometimes you just need a good ole dive bar to chill with large groups of friends. They have a huge space with both indoor and large patio area. They have jumbo, high quality screens everywhere, so it's always a great atmosphere during game times and sporting events. They constant host events so definitely follow them on socials to keep up with their calendar - they have a great trivia scene, live music at times, and all sorts of food events like steak night and crawfish. Although a bit more of a dive, don't sleep on their cocktails as they have a pretty expansive menu you wouldn't expect at an establishment like this. They pour a good Guinness draft, and have a variety of local beers and imports. The bartenders are all extremely hardworking and friendly. Food-wise, they have a limited menu that includes basic bar snacks like pretzels and frozen pizza (I swear this has to be Red Baron). But the bonus is that they typically allow outside food, so can order delivery or bring whatever you want to eat with you. The tamale guy also makes fairly regular rounds at Penny Whistle, especially on trivia nights. There's been a lot of talk what constitutes third spaces, and in this part of Montrose, this would be one of mine. If you're ever in the neighborhood drop by Penny Whistle and come and say hi!“
“Awesome atmosphere. Great staff. Service is on point and even when crowded they all work the whole place even working the people at tables. Went for St. Patrick's day and it was very busy but as busy as they were there was no problem getting waited on.Had a nice Irish food buffet.Mr. C is right in there helping everything go smoothly and making everybody feel at home. Ashley and the other bartender are simply amazing!! Highly recommended this place.. Thanks again for a great St. Patrick's day!!“
“In downtown Houston. Bar is a lot of fun a good local crowd. There is a good beer selection a decent prices. A real Irish pub vibe. I was told even the bar came from Ireland. Bartender was busy but we always had a drink. He was friendly and talked with us. We recommend stopping by for a drink.“
“Staff was super nice, especially Christina. She was extremely friendly and did her job well. Food was good, drinks were good, and I love that the patio area is dog friendly! I was able to bring my pet and my service dog on the patio. Stalls are ADA accessible. The place is nice overallWheelchair accessibility: ADA stall“
“Hands down, one of the best bar services I have ever experienced. Really friendly staff with great atmosphere. Not overly noisy. You can also order food from next door pizza place in the bar. Beer collection is good and the food menu is also decent. I just wish they would take care of wobbly tables!Highly recommend it and will definitely go back again!“
