“We got the 3 person combo and it came with a variety of food to cook which made it an enjoyable experience. The meat however was much fattier than we would’ve liked (this was not the 1.99 meat they were promoted but from their combo meal). Service was not great. Server looked tired and disengaged. Owner/manager made up for his lack of enthusiasm. Overall we would still return to take advantage of their promotions but order ala carte.“

“Heard a lot about their gumbo and decided to try it. I can say it was not the best gumbo I have had, Razzo's and Willie's has better. But it was the best gumbo I have had for the price, a bowl for under $5 is a great choice. I had the catfish and shrimp plate. The shrimp was really good and bigbbut the catfish was lacking seasoning. I put some hot sauce on the catfish and it was good after that also the catfish pieces were pretty big. There is only counter seating so not really a good place for a family to eat.“

“I recommend you ask for (Gus) as your server at Pearl and Vine as he is the very best! He started out at Tavern on the Green in NYC and worked for 25 years at the local Lynn's steakhouse in Houston. He is ultra knowledgeable and super nice. He only works on Wed, Thurs & Friday but well worth having him as your preferred grand server. Thank you Gus for your stealer service as always kind sir! “Our server, Jordan, was very attentive and provided a great experience. The fried catfish was good and crisp and was served with very good tartar sauce. The chicken and sausage gumbo had a prominent smokiness that seemed to be throughout the roux that had a familiar liquid smoke taste that was not to our taste.“
