Restaurantji's Kingsland recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“Easy to miss this little dive amongst all the small businesses surrounding 1431 in Kingsland, but made it my first destination of the day due to a recommendation as the best traditional Mexican restaurant in Kingsland. Firstly, this is a cash only (ATM within) and BYOB establishment. For the latter, no bar and I assume one can bring their own drinks but did not see anyone drinking beer. With 14 4 tops, the place is tiny and looks to be well managed and great staff. No frills dining interior but clean and plethora of decor. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. The menu is surprisingly very large so would be great to see how a small place executes during peak times. Traditional options only so if you're looking for fancy, this is not it. I ordered the tortilla soup, (3) Verde "green" enchiladas, half plate nachos, guac and queso. The chicken enchiladas were simply outstanding, perfectly seasoned pure white rotisserie chicken, with great tasting refried beans and rice. The verde sauce great. I got the standard queso which was okay. The guac was outstanding. The complimentary chips and salsa were okay. The Nachos need some help and were nothing special for the price $6.99. The soup was outstanding perfectly seasoned and plenty of chicken and avocados. Ticket time for entree was a timely 8min. Overall, I love family owned and operated businesses and recommend this one. While I'm sticking to 4* review, I simply need to come back to try other items for a complete review. Nice job owners. Will be back. Prices for entrees are good.“
“Excellent spot for breakfast tacos in Kingsland, Texas right near Lake LBJ - food truck with area to sit and eat if you like. Tacos are cooked to order and are quite tasty! They pair very well with some Lazy Heron coffee nearby for an outstanding breakfast. Cash-only location so make sure you have some on hand.“
“The food is very good and it actually has flavor compared to other Tex-Mex restaurants. I've had breakfast to dinner and I cannot get enough of there food. Staff are very polite and came to check almost every single time I've went. Additionally, the inside is decorated with culture and art, and with pretty cool ceramic statues of them playing with a guitar.“
“Within the last month, I have been from Houston to San Antonio to Florida and none can compare to Tequila Jaliscos in Kingsland Tx, amazing service, even better food and all around the best we have ever had. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!“
“Food has always been great & prompt. Maybe a hickup once are twice over the past 4 or 5 years but that can happen anywhere. I really do recommend this place for good Mexican - Tex Mex food. Plus great breakfast tacos & quick for pick up when your in a rush in the morning. Always a fan & will continue to be a loyal customer.“
“Amazing breakfast! So good that I ate there two days in a row while camping at Inks Lake. Best pancakes I have EVER had. Their barbacoa is amazing as well. Homemade flour tortillas! They could easily charge $6 a taco if they were in Austin… and they are 10 times better than anything you get in Austin.“

“This was my second time going to Davi’s Tacos. The first time was last week when I picked up three tacos to share with my wife, a chicken fajita a Barbacoa and a Carnitas, all were fabulous and she was quite impressed as was I. After reading the reviews, I saw that I was missing out by not getting the Taco Famosos, so today I went back in the 35° weather and there was a line. I got two of the Tacos Famosos and OMG are they fantastic! The grilled jalapeño knocked it out of the park. Definitely a place worth trying if you’re in the area.“
“I luv there breakfast tacos, an their meat counter is wonderful, so many choices, they fresh baked goodies! On weekends they r out front grilling chicken! an onions an jalenpnos in a foil pack! They have lottery tickets too! Check it out for urself! I should tell u if u don't speak or understand Spanish, it's may be a little hard but it works out!“
“Skip the expensive breakfast at the resort and drive 5 minutes to this gem. While the ambiance is Food-truck rustic the breakfast tacos were generous and tasty. They have multiple salsas that are all equally yum! I look forward to making a return visit the next time we're in Horseshoe Bay.“
“Man, what can I say, this place has the best tacos and the best salsa of any place I've ever visited and I have lived in Texas for 15+ years. Always friendly, always great food, and always a great value! Sometimes a little slow in the summer months because the secret is out and everybody knows that this is the place to go! Keep up the great work and we'll keep buying tacos!“
