“Me and my wife came into torchy's expecting a normal exsperance at any restraunt where the employees don't care about the customer, but our waiter, Tommy, was special. He helped us in every tiny way we needed, he was joyful, positive and made sure we had a damn good exsperance!“

“Just ordered an Asada Torta from here for the first time and it was perfect. Tender and perfectly seasoned asada on a large roll with onions, cilantro, avocado, and a little mayo. It’s the best one I’ve had in Texas! Their “mild” green sauce is tasty but has a decent kick so get it on the side. The staff was friendly and everything looked clean. Highly recommend De La O Kitchen!“
“Excellent 1/2 chicken with excellent onion, usual sides. I missed living in the neighborhood near the #2 North Lamar location. I stopped by at a slow time of day, polite staff and great food. Took to go, but the place was clean and ready for business later on in the day. Grabbed a couple neighborhood newspapers as I left.“

“I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the beautiful view of the sunsetting over the highway while sitting on their nice little deck next to their food truck. After a long drive to Austin and a long drive back and Not haven’t had anything other than a latte all day. I pulled over just to use my phone at the gas station and noticed this little red food truck. Being that I was starving and that’s why I pulled over to look at my phone. I had planned to stop at one of those larger chain restaurants on the right side of the highway up ahead. But I’ve lived a life and one of these things I’ve learned is little places like this place only the cool people learn about them the ones that are willing to take risks and give people a chance. The banner boosted grilled chicken. So I ordered a grilled chicken burrito. It was absolutely delicious. They served it with a half of a lime and a little container of green salsa which was delicious. The lime was the perfect amount for me to squeeze into that burrito as I dabbed the salsa on it and grabbed the heck out of it. It was damn delicious. I am not criticising or suggesting they do anything different though there was shredded lettuce inside of the burrito and being it was a hot burrito personally if I’m gonna have a leafy green inside of a hot burrito or quesadilla or whatever it’s gonna be fresh spinach that wilt naturally from the heat of the food That it is over or around. The hot lettuce was a little different, but I’m sure it’s a normal thing to see in burritos around here. I do recommend spinach instead of lettuce. All that Side the burrito is perfect I loved every single bite of it and I’m about ready to hop on my motorcycle and drive down the highway from Fredericksburg this evening just to eat another one. I was reading a review of some guy that has only left one review in his life on Yelp claiming that he found a roach in his last bite of his burrito. So he has a phone and he has time to leave a bad review but he didn’t have time to take a picture of the roach in his burrito. I am calling a big fat BS on that dupid foo! That actually really bothers me that somebody would make a claim like that a false claim like that and somebody that’s supposed to be a man. I would love to interrogate that man and give him a polygraph test. It should be against law to make a claim like that in a review for a restaurant who knows how many people read that and decided to not go there that is their livelihood and they do it well so whoever you are shame on you and for everybody else come and get some food here if they did good with the chicken burrito that I had in my hands in five minutes and in my belly five minutes after that and I was already making plans to go an hour out of my way just to get another one the next day y’all can trust me it’s good stuff so go show some love give it a try. And thank you for being there you put some muscles on this young man and I’m very regretful that I did not take pictures of that sunset and the burrito. But you know what maybe I’ll take some today and add it thank you. And I would’ve given five stars for food service in atmosphere. But being fair and being I am in hospitality and food service as well. We can all do better I got my food it was delicious. The atmosphere was great. But nobody asked me how my day was or if I’ve ever been there before or how my drive was or where I was going. Maybe you could chop that up to language barrier. But when you deal with people that speak English all day long, I mean my Spanish isn’t horrible. I can ask somebody how they’re doing. I can be sweet to them and give them a compliment. I know enough Spanish for that. I’m not criticising, but I’m just saying for five stars in service needs to be a little bit of communication back-and-forth. Thank you again la Escondida God bless.“

“I walked into Freebirds a man… and left as a fully evolved burrito deity wrapped in foil and bad decisions.
The moment I locked eyes with that tortilla, I knew my life was about to change. Not improve—change. This wasn’t food. This was a commitment. A legally binding relationship between me and a burrito the size of a newborn.
I told them “light rice” and they looked me dead in the soul and said, “we don’t do weakness here.” Respect.
The steak? Seasoned like it just came back from war.
The queso? Thicker than my attachment issues.
The guac? I would write poetry about it and send it at 2am knowing I’ll get left on read.
By bite three, I was sweating, questioning my life choices, and ready to propose to the cashier. By bite five, I understood why civilizations collapse. By the last bite… I was seeing colors that don’t exist in this dimension.
Parking lot vibes? Absolute chaos.
Inside energy? Gym after leg day mixed with post-breakup glow up.
Staff? Moving with the urgency of people who know they’re feeding legends.
Would I come back?
I never left spiritually.
If this place ever closes, I’m starting a GoFundMe, a protest, and possibly a small riot.“
