“These are the best tacos not only in San Marcos but in Texas! They're exceptional! Big tacos they pile on the bacon. They're not afraid to load them up. All of the staff are extremely helpful, friendly and super fast. Highly recommend if you're new to town and wanting to try award-winning tacos! This was the first place we ever brought our baby and we dressed him as a little taco. Today at 1-year-old we brought him again and they gave him a drink cookies for the first time! Thank you Loli and all the staff!“
“I felt like I had been there before until I tasted the caso. I don't know what yall do differently than other restaurants, but they should be getting their cheese from yall.I poured it on everything, lolMy enchiladas were great, too.Thank you, Herbert's Taco Hut “
“By far the best taco shop in San Marcos, TX. I have been going to this place for over 8 years and the tacos have always been the same, (DELICIOUS). Fair prices and they're decently sized. Given the fact I've been going so long I've seen front staff come and go, but always polite and friendly :) Definitely recommend stopping in!“
“Some friends highly recommended this place to us, and we had a great first experience on our date night at Balcón. Vanessa, our server, was very attentive and knowledgeable. She was able to ask the right questions to provide the perfect suggestions for both drinks and meal. The carne asada taco was delicious, as were the warm chips with guacamole and the churro donut for dessert. The restaurant is located above Otsu Asian Bistro on Stagecoach. Since it was a nice evening, the garage window/doors were open we could look out over the city. There were also heaters around to keep things comfortable as the night cooled off. The music was lively and not too loud so we could still hear each other. We will definitely go back!“
“Excellent home cooking with handmade tortillas, chicken tortilla soup with fresh ingredients, overall an excellent choice. It’s a small place, very casual and with friendly staff. Know that they don’t serve alcohol, so no margaritas, but it’s dry January, so not a bad thing!“
“I went with my wife to the square to check out the new establishments when we came across La Chula. They had upbeat music and we reviewed the menu they had on the window. We came in and ordered the chips and queso and a barbacoa quesadilla. It did not disappoint. My wife and I loved the authenticity of the food. Portions were huge! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My wife and I will definitely be back. 10/10“
“First time here. I ordered the taco salad and tea. It was very good. One thing..... when I walked in the smell of urine hit me strong. Idk why it stunk but that's why I put the stars on the atmosphere. U went after 1:40pmWheelchair accessibility: There's ramps going into building and after the front door as your going in.“
“I feel like this place is definitely slept on. The breakfast tacos are 10/10, the tortillas are bomb & the carne guisada is *chefs kiss*. The service is great and they always have my order ready within the next 10 min when I call in my order. 5 STARS ofc!“
“This is the place we've been looking for! The beans have FLAVOR, the rice has FLAVOR (and a little heat). The food is fresh and delicious and the people are wonderful. If you want good Mexican food and you like supporting local, family owned and operated business, this is THE SPOT!“
“A great family run restaurant. My wife got the migas and tortilla soup and they both were fantastic. I got the mole chicken enchiladas and they were also wonderful. My son got the carne quisada plate and he loved it. Service was very friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back whenever we are in the area.“
“Great supermarket. This place has good quality meat. We bought fresh cut meat. Here has a nice variety of different selections of meat doesn’t sell exotic meat but really good place to go get your meat at a great price. Thanks for Servicr and ATX 512 Mobile Mechanic .“
“In town for service call, seen this place as I was heading to customer. So glad I stopped by and got me some of these delicious tacos. Carne Guisada was on point, chorizo n papas full of flavor and bacon, egg, and potatoes all good especially with the home made tortillas! Stop by when you come through here, you will be glad you did. Roberto gave great customer service as well..“
“Theresa was the highlight of my night! She was so attentive with our order and made sure we had everything we need from condiments, to our drinks, to even helping us get out the order line after we got our food! I will definitely be coming back to this Fuego location because of Theresa I’ve never experienced service like this at a fast food restaurant. FIVE STARS TO HER!!“
“I spent 5 days in San Marcos and this restaurant had the best food I’ve ever had. My niece that goes to college in San Mo agreed with me too. I’d reccomend the Barbacoa, rice, beans and some of their homemade tortillas. Los Vega will always be my first choice in dining while in San Mo. Ty -Amos Baker HUNTSVILLE COIN on FB & “
“Casual place, the margaritas are pretty good. I wasnt too crazy about their Carne Guisada, it had too much chili powder. However their Chile Relleno is very good and so is their menudo, it is a little too spicy but very good flavor and not greasy . I was impressed .“
“Food truck/ hole in the wall, must stop! The most expensive menu option was $10.50!! We tried few different bites, and they were all worth the stop. Full of flavor and served with all of the extras- grilled and raw onions, lime, cilantro, red & green salsas, & grilled chili peppersTIP: El Patroncito is a CASH ONLY business, but there is an ATM machine inside the convenience store that shares the parking lot??#EATHERE“
“Always a delight ordering the super taco of Bacon and egg andPicadillo with potato super taco as well is worth it! Their homemade hot sauce is definitely superb. It is the best I've ever had! I believe the inside was closed due to staffing issues, but it was worth the wait in the drive-thru!“
“We come here often after moving to San Marcos last year and we love the food. This is by far our favorite spot for breakfast in San Marcos. We have also tried lunch and dinner plates and everything is very good and customer service is always excellent. Highly recommend giving it a try!“
“We had our family lunch date and we decided to go to Casa Maria's. Our waitress Lex was super awesome. My husband is in the restaurant business so he is very nit picky when it comes to going to different restaurants. We both agreed this girls customer service was the best we have ever received.she was great from start to finish.Food was delicious. My daughter is very picky eater and she loved her tacos. We will definitely be back.“
“We were looking for a taco spot that was open on Christmas. Luckily we found Lucy's Tacos! The owner was very sweet and kind! The food was also delicious. We ordered the chilaquiles verdes with carne asada, a sausage egg and cheese taco, and a carne asada taco. The green sauce is a little spicy but is so good! It was made fresh so there was a little wait but was worth it! My mouth was watering as I could smell the meat being freshly cooked. Honestly, I will be going back to eat there and am so happy I found a new taco spot in San Marcos!“
