Restaurantji's Wimberley guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors.
“We sat on the back patio while eating breakfast tacos. They were really good! So good I ate them and realized I didn't get a picture! I will be going back to get more of these breakfast tacos when back in Wimberley. Fast service, very little wait, super delicious!“
“Tacos were big and delicious. Homemade corn tortillas and made to order food (fresh and super hot). Now I know why all the locals hit this spot up. Wife also loved the chirozo and egg tacos with her morning coffee ☕️ (coffee strong and robust)Young lady speaks English and Spanish.“
“I was in town for a wedding and had some down time so decided to head over to Tacos El Tizon for some food. I got my order taken quickly and waited about 10 minutes for my food to go. I got the burrito with meat. I should have gotten the chicken because the meat was too greasy. But overall the burrito was big, stuffed and grilled! I ordered a cheeseburger for my wife. I have to tell you it was awesome. And the fries were amazing and plenty of them. That was where the 5 stars are at. Next time I'm going to get the cheeseburger. I do recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and make sure you're happy. I'll be back for more!! ?“
“I’m from New York City so I don’t know if my opinion carries any weight, but I’ve eaten a lot of breakfast tacos passing through Texas and these were fantastic. I got migas and potato chorizo. The tortilla chips are very light and airy which makes the migas nice and fluffy. Potatoes nice and crispy. Some of the best flour tortillas I’ve had. Salsa excellent, prices low. Great food and value.“
“Some friends highly recommended this place to us, and we had a great first experience on our date night at Balcón. Vanessa, our server, was very attentive and knowledgeable. She was able to ask the right questions to provide the perfect suggestions for both drinks and meal. The carne asada taco was delicious, as were the warm chips with guacamole and the churro donut for dessert. The restaurant is located above Otsu Asian Bistro on Stagecoach. Since it was a nice evening, the garage window/doors were open we could look out over the city. There were also heaters around to keep things comfortable as the night cooled off. The music was lively and not too loud so we could still hear each other. We will definitely go back!“
“Stopped at this little restaurant on our way back to Houston and was delighted with their “perfect” over medium huevos rancheros and crispy bacon. The chips and salsa were also so delicious- the chips were so crispy and tasty. Our waitress Vivi was amazing and added extra charm to this little place. Highly recommend it :)“
“We enjoyed the spicy shrimp tacos & chicken fajita quesadilla. The quesadilla is made with Oaxaca cheese and it comes with chips and salsa. Location is amazing! It's a great place to hang out with friends and family. Ghost Note offers a great selection of beer. I will bring my family next time!“
“While the space for dining in is lackluster, the food absolutely makes up for it.I've been to alot of different Mexican style restaurants, and let me tell you; THIS PLACE IS BOMB. From the chips and salsa to the varies plates. My wife and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary around the area, and we have never came here before. The food was, once again, amazing. No complaints at all. The ladies at the front were patient with my wife dietary needs and even make a custom cost to for her meal. This is gonna become a normal stop for us whenever we visit again!“
“The most amazing carne guisada tacos I’ve ever had! You can also order your tacos however you want, I also had a Potato, egg, bacon, onion, cilantro and cheese. And these tacos aren’t DINKY like other places, big portions for the price which is increasingly rare these days. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The lake views and atmosphere was perfect. I will NEVER be going back to Mima’s or Shamrock Tacos again.“
“Great, fast service. He got the barbacoa plate with added charro beans and we both thought it was awesome. I got the mixed plate so I could try a variety: chicken enchilada, tamal, beef taco, and a chalupa. I asked for the spicy green enchilada sauce for a small upcharge and it was absolutely worth it. We liked how spicy the hot sauce with chips was as well as the spice level on the other sauces. Fresh homemade tortillas were great. Pretty good atmosphere, but some of the lights could be a little dimmer for my taste. We'll definitely be back lots!“
“Love me some Garcicia's. I don't care what location to me. The food is bout the same taste. Some restaurants are newer than others, some are the original old ones... all the food is the same, taste the same. It's great food don't get me wrong. Love it!“
“Visiting Canyon Lake from out of town, we stumbled upon La Pasadita Cocina Mexicana after a day of exploring the area, and boy, are we glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality that set the tone for the entire evening. Karla, our waitress, deserves a special shoutout for her friendly demeanor and helpful recommendations. Despite serving all the tables by herself, she ensured we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. Now, let's talk about the food – Chef Alvaro truly knows how to work his magic! Each dish we tried was like a burst of flavor straight from Mexico. From the fresh guacamole to the tortilla soup, puffy nachos, beef quesadilla, juicy steak, and the decadent Tres Leches Cake, every bite was a celebration of taste. It's clear that they use quality ingredients and put heart into every dish they serve. The restaurant itself has a cozy charm that adds to the overall experience. It may not be fancy, but it's authentic and inviting. Discovering this hidden gem made our visit to Canyon Lake even more memorable. So, if you're craving delicious Mexican food in the area, La Pasadita is a must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! And don't forget to treat yourself to one of their large Margaritas on the rocks – it's the perfect complement to a fantastic meal.“
“Food is authentic, flavorful, colorful. Black ceviche is by far the best blend of seasoning I've ever tastes. Mole enchiladas are great as well. Nice clean open floor restaurant, the service is usually slow so order a drink and enjoy your company. Always awaken my tastbuds when I “
