“I gave four stars only because the food didn't really taste fresh. I'm not saying it was bad but it seemed like it was warmed back up. Like I said it wasn't bad, but the tortillas were the worst. I opened the tortillas and they were hot fresh and super soft but after like 2 mins they got hard and kinda crunchy 🤷. The staff was nice.“

“Maria's was the 5th spot we tried on our search for best breakfast tacos in SA. The bacon, egg, potato and cheese was really good especially with that hot sauce and its spicy kick. The bean and cheese, while also good wasn't as flavorful as beans I've had elsewhere. The carne guisada and cheese was the best taco for sure. It's a bit of nitpicking, but the meat wasn't quite as tender as compared to other spots and the tortillas overall were on the chewy side. That being said, I really enjoyed this spot and would definitely return for more breakfast tacos as well as to try all the other options on their menu. 4.2 out of 5“

“Great eatery!! Waitress continued to check on us, made sure our coffee's and waters were ful or if we needed anything else.
Food was delicious/ well seasoned!
I had the steak and eggs, for as thin as the skirt steak was, they still did it a medium rare... beans/potatoes were good served with homemade flour and corn tortillas... AMAZING!
I also had the chicken on a stick (a Fiesta fave) delicious and tender, it didn't disappoint.
Hubbs had the chilequilles with a side of barbacoa. His fave was the barbacoa, in a corn tortilla with the beans and potatoes. Chilequilles was ok.
Over all a great little spot! Gets busy around 10am so plan accordingly“

“My grandparents owned several businesses in the area and as a child we would go there for lunch. I visited the restaurant last Wednesday for the first time in over 60 years. The food and service were excellent and authentic. I visited with several staff members to share my story and found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. “I went there with a bunch of my college friends and honestly everything was great. Chips and salsa was excellent and the guacamole tasted great. We ordered a few top shelf margaritas pitchers and they were just as strong as he said they would be. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. “I grew up in San Antonio. La Fonda was my favorite restaurant as a child. Back then there were multiple locations around the city. Now there are only two, Alamo Heights, and this one which is in Monte Vista. The food is heavenly. The atmosphere is sublime. Service: exceptional. If you don’t eat TexMex anywhere else while in town you should make time for a late afternoon lunch at La Fonda on Main. It’s in a league of its own. ❤️“

“This place saved the day! We had planned to meet some of our work family for dinner for my husband's birthday!! The first party my husband has had in over 10yrs!

I called somewhere else and asked if they could seat a party of 15 they told us no problem until we got there and they wanted to put us in 2 back to back booths and 1 across. Ummm no. So in a quick last minute scurry I found this Chili's 4mins away! I called hoping but doubting they could help. The gentleman who answered said he would see what they could do and to give him a min. He quickly came back and said they could help. We got the directions to those who had not arrived at the other evil place and off we went.
When we got there our table was already set up and our server was super sweet. We had the best time and my hubby was very happy 😊

“4 out of 5 stars this time. They weren't super busy today so service should've been spot on. Our wait person was very polite, but once the food arrived, we asked for salt and pepper, as well as tortillas. The salt and pepper didn't arrive until we were done eating and the tortillas never arrived. However, the food was good and the restaurant was clean.

They didn't charge us for the requested tortillas, so I assume the wait person simply got distracted and forgot about them.

“We met up with friends we hadn’t seen in 11 years, and Mi Tierra Café y Panaderia turned out to be the perfect spot for it. From the moment you walk in, the decorations really catch your eye — colorful, festive, and full of character everywhere you look. It feels like you’re stepping into a piece of San Antonio’s history. We absolutely loved the food, and to make it even better, a mariachi band came by our table and performed for us, which made the night feel extra special. We got so caught up in conversation that we ended up staying for a few hours, and our wonderful server took great care of us the whole time. She was attentive and friendly, and we made sure to tip her well for her hard work. The only downside was the long line at the bakery, so we didn’t get a chance to try it this time — but that just gives us a reason to come back. “We stopped in to celebrate our son's 12th birthday, his wish was to go plane spotting as a family. My husband remembered from his childhood how close the planes would fly while coming in to land at the airport so we decided to visit again. Best choice ever! The staff is kind, courteous and attentive. The patio is absolutely perfect for plane spotting! It is beautiful with an amazing garden themed atmosphere. My son was so happy and smiling so big with the massive planes flying into the runway. Thank you Nicha's! 🥰“

“This place has been on my list for years. I can definitely say it was worth the wait! Few things that could be better is using fries for huevos ranchero plate. They were good just usually like cut potatoes with my plate. The other was the restrooms situation being that there's only 2 restrooms right in the dining room. Besides that everything was perfect. The tortillas are 100% amazing 😍
My over medium eggs were executed perfectly. The beans, bacon, fries were really good. For a few extra dollars I had a side of carne guisada. The carne guisada is so tender and the gravy has so much flavor! With all this food I could only eat half of my plate. My son had the mini tacos. They were ridiculously tasty! With good size pieces of meat, covered in melted cheese and grilled onion. Both hot sauces were tasty but hot be careful. And finally the lemonade and the Arnold Palmer hit the spot! The service was very kind and patiently made recommendations for us 1st timers! We will definitely be back.“

“After a long day we chose this Mexican restaurant for dinner. Had never been there before. We were just passing through. Service was very good. I had enchiladas and so did my husband. We just had different sauces. They were both excellent. The refried beans were very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place . I think they have a drive thru too. Only downside is that they don’t serve alcohol.

Was on but not load. the waitress I had was vet friendly and accommodating. gosh I wish I had gotten her name. now most importantly - my picadillo plate was delicious! took half of it home for my guy :) in other words, serving size was ALOT.
