“This is one of my favorite places to eat. It is hard to find healthy, quality vegan food. Everything on the menu is so delicious and made from scratch. You can’t beat the pricing anywhere for the quality you get. Even my non vegan friends love the food. They are also always so friendly and hospitable too. Highly recommend this place!“
“Beautiful place. Especially the patio area. They should think of doing something about the doors to the room where the bathrooms are. People get lost so much trying to go out doors that are sometimes open or u pass the side kitchen and bathrooms to get there. Food was ok. Think the cheese might have been bad.Parking: Small lots with signs of restaurant“
“As soon as you walk in, they make you feel like family! Small but cozy place . If a big table is available, they will ask you if it's OK to share the extra space with other patrons if they're willing as well before just sitting them down without ask first. Parking is very limited as well, but we have been lucky to get parking! It is a must place to try if you haven't tried it yet!“
“Absolutely wonderful dining experience. the moment we walked in we were greeted by Shana who was so welcoming and friendly. Carla our waitress was extremely attentive and followed up during the meal to make sure everything was to our liking and came back to refill beverages. She explained the menu and made wonderful suggestions. Tania stopped by our table to greet us and to offer dining suggestions as well. She enticed us and made it so much more difficult to make a decision so for a table of 4 we ordered the nachos, tuna totopos , queso, guacamole and then my husband ordered the grilled fish, and 2 of us had the barbacoa tacos and another person had the chicken enchiladas. We also had 3 desserts! EVERYTHING was exquisite! I have never had better barbacoa! It is tender and absolutely perfectly seasoned! The chicken in the enchiladas was also beautifully seasoned. I would have just loved it on a salad ! My husband LOVED the fish and sauce and the white rice and the salad/dressing.We are in town from Dallas and will be going back before we leave! Please open Carriqui in Dallas/Plano ... We had one little hick-up which didn't matter much to me because I did not need the tortillas but the corn tortillas fell apart when we went to pick them up! We ate the tacos with a fork. Suggest that be addressed but other than that everything was perfection! We will be back before we head home!“
“Well, we’re over from England celebrating my 70th birthday and the meal here this evening was easily the best by far. It will not and cannot be exceeded for the rest of our three week trip. The rib-eye was so well cooked and the mushrooms were elevated to a flavour level that I didn’t think mushrooms could reach. My wife’s fish tacos were equally as wonderful and have been recorded as having reached legendary status. Edward the chef and joint owner has a superb palate and clearly knows how to put a dish together. We’re leaving first thing tomorrow morning. If we weren’t we’d be back. Too late to change our plans. What a shame.Just go and go again. This has been the highlight of dining out not just of this trip but perhaps of all time.“
“I gotta tell ya, this place is not only great but deserves more attention. From their chicken fried chicken to their hamburger steak to their breakfast plates, all is great tasting. Service is impeccable as other restaurants lack it.Now this was take out and what they call a MORNING WRECKER (a fulfilling bliss) to a avacado omelet are worth trying. If wanting to dine in, best get their early as wait times very from 1 to 2 hrs. Best check in online to beat the crowd IMO.“
“Chips and salsa, blah. Salsa was warm and no flavor. First, lunch serving is very small. Chilled Rellano was not traditional, first they brought me chicken instead of picadillo. Then forgot my fork. Did not care for Chille Relleno. Looked like a creamy avacado sauce over the top. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by its Chille Relleno. They failed.Update, decided try again. I must say, they have the best Cuban I have had in San Antonio. So they now get 4 stars. We will see what's next.“
“We came for breakfast, and the food was pretty standard. We had huevos rancheros, huevos divorciados, and some additional breakfast tacos. The papas needed way more seasoning, and the sauces were only okay. The tacos came without sauce but desperately needed some. But all the eggs were done perfectly to order. And the prices are very low! The server was very nice and attentive as well. The parking lot might be the worst thing about this place; it's packed and some spots are very hard to get into.“
“My new favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio!!! Delicious!!! Tried a couple different chicken enchiladas - ? yum!Dietary restrictions: My friend is allergic to several allergens including dairy and gluten - the server and chef were very careful!!!“
“Came here to eat Breakfast at 10AM on a Sunday , The place is a little small. But the food is delicious,Eva’s is a real Authentic Mexican restaurant. This isn’t Tex-Mex. Eva’s is an Authentic Mexican restaurant & they don’t play around in the Kitchen. I ordered 3 tacos Of Beef Fajita, 1 Taco de Asada , & 1 of Barbacoa. And they were delicious, and very filled with Meat. I’ve also ordered 3 Small Menudos & they were very tasty. I recommend everyone to come check out Eva’s, it’s also a lot cheaper compared to other Restaurants.“
“Popped in mid morning for 4 tacos, and left like 5 minutes later with some great tacos. Service was quick and order was correct ( I ordered a custom taco). Salsa bar with plenty of options and very clean given how many people were in front of me.Great local option to stop and grab a few tacos. It is small so probably cant stay long but the service is quick so you likely wont have to.“
“First time here. I love Mexican food. This is this little Tex-Mex style, but very good. I enjoyed the Carne Guisada. Tender chunks of beef tips in a deliciously spicy gravy. Everything on point. Service was friendly and efficient. Family friendly restaurant good for parties and kids.“
“Loved this place. It is a must go when you're in San antonio. Came here for a conference and it was during Fiesta week. Everything looked amazing. The Monterrey special is 5*, the goat was delicious and I loved the rib part due to it being a little crispy with the fat. YummmmWe had 7 people and different meals so we got to try different meats. The michoacan was my other favorite. I love the fatty parts so it worked for us since others preferred the lean part. The meat fell apart.Literally everything was delicious. We went to the Fiesta afterwards and walked around for 30 minutes. I cant wait to come back next year with my family.“
“Food is always the highest quality and at a reasonable price. Excellent Enchelada special on Wednesday for $6.95. Quesadillas are always good. Have never had a bad meal here and have been a regular since their opening six years ago. Service is always friendly and attentive.“
“We had a family gathering at Henry Puffy Taco .We all had a great time. Great food followed. Each person numbering 50 ordered from the menu, placing extra pressure on the cooks and our positive hostess .The restaurant did not panic but then again it's how they handle rush hour .Thank you PUFFYWheelchair accessibility: Some of us had canes and walkers .The first think thought was how do I get up there however it is truly handi helpful.“
“Omg. Amazing. I showed the guy a picture of someone else’s review, said that’s what I wanted and asked what it was and he told me it was a salad! The Mexican Cobb salad or something. I usually don’t like salads but this was protein PACKED. I got a corn and flour tortilla on the side for .69 each. They also give an active duty military discount. So good, definitely going back and I already have my regular order ready.“
“I visited this restaurant about a month ago. To this day, I have not been able to get this restaurant out of my mind. The food service atmosphere was excellent. I will be back soon and will be the first place I will be having some excellent food. See yall soon, Esteban.....“
“Delicious pork roast. Not to mention the michelada. We ordered a ceviche as a starter and it was very light to start with a very good flavor. Highly recommended this place.Kid-friendliness: It is a place with a lot of space, if you bring children who wear a harness you will not feel very cramped.“
“This is my neighborhood restaurant. Service is always great here and I'm always excited to be back! The food is always delicious and fresh! I honestly think they probably have one of the best bean and cheese tacos in town. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. Don't sleep on this place!!!!!!“
“Very small family owned place don't judge it by the outside. we all loved everything we ate and service was great I believe I read they had been in business over 50yrs and you can tell why they put love into their food homemade tortillas and beans we was in heavenKid-friendliness: They was so sweet to my baby and accommodated her and she was hungry from us being out all day site seeing they brought her food first“
“In town for a few days and Garcia’s was just a few minutes walk from where we stayed. Grabbed 5 breakfast tacos to go and it was only $16. Everything was incredible and they included a ton of good hot sauce and pico. The brisket and machacado tacos were insanely good!“
“Had a whole trip planned frpm austin that was going wrong in every way. Birthday weekend for my daughter and I felt like i failed in making it right. We found this spot and it started to change my horrible morning into something good. The service was amazing chorizo migas...no greasy chorizo and perfectly crispy tortillas for the midas. It's a older hole in the wall so the building doesn't give much but the people and food make up for it 10fold. Thank you to this staff for helping me feel better.“
“The food was really good except the queso needed a little more salsa or something in it. My wife had enchiladas and said that they were really good. Normally she doesn't like restaurant enchiladas. I had the pork guisada and it was really good too.Our server was really bad though and it looked like everyone else was getting good service.“
“Solid Pollos Asados. With some of the more famous places in town starting to slip in quality I decided to try this place close to home. The chicken was very good! Charro beans good though very salty. The rice is sadly sad. Just some rice boiled in Knorr. But I will still call this place my new go to for Char Chicken. Good job you guys. Staff was fine. Food came out quickly on a slow Sunday. Whole chicken, rice, beans, good fresh corn tortillas (probably from a local molino) a jalepeno, half a grilled onion (very good!) and two salsas. Ok you owe ma another red salsa! heehee. I got one red and one green but I should have got two reds. That stuff is great! Thanks you guys! all under 23 bucks.Parking: Small lot but still very doable.“
“We had a great experience here our server was on point The order came out just Not long after a we ordered. The place had an old school feel to it the food was good We also got a bucket of beer They do have a kid's menu for the kids The enchiladas were good“
“I was in charge of planning a senior dinner for my daughter and her soccer team. I called several restaurants but was drawn in by Pericos. They were very helpful from beginning until the day of the of the dinner. I asked a million questions and stopped and visited to ask more questions because our party was going to be 50+ people. Abel Villarreal the assistant manager was very kind and super helpful. I had never planned an event this big. He helped me step by step by showing where we would be seated and telling me how it would be set up. He answered all my questions and waited for me to get questions answered by the team and then answered more questions. He even gave me prices so I could have an accurate amount for the ones paying. On the evening of the dinner he and his staff helped me set up and were very attentive throughout the dinner. I was very pleased with the service, kindness, helpfulness and of course the taste of the food and price. I would 100% recommend Pericos especially of you are having a big party“
“I'm not a huge fan of eating rotting corpses for food but a friend wanted to go eat at Alamo. They didn't have much to accommodate but the Bartendress made me some NChoea with Guac, Rice, Beans and jalapenos. It was a nice ambience, the staff was friendly. Great place to visit“
“A San Antonio treasure right here. Stopped in for breakfast with a friend before an event. Sometimes there's a small wait for a table but not today. I had the Huevos Ranchero plate with bacon & an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade & half sweet tea). Our food came out quick & the food was delicious. Our waitress was friendly & very on point. She kept checking on us & cleared empty plates from the table almost immediately. This will always be one of my favorite places to eat in San Antonio.“
“Every time I visit San Antonio I try to eat here. It’s always delicious, great customer service and fair prices. The staff is always bubbly and friendly. The food is authentic and delicious. I’m picky about my Menudo and it’s delicious. Also they have their own parking lot and street parking is plentiful. I would recommend this place.“
“We had the carne guisada and the beef quesadillas, which both come with rice, beans and home-made tortillas and Nachos. The tortillas are the best I‘ve ever eaten!! And the carne was soft and muy deliciosO. Drinks are also really big. You get so much good food for amazing prices. Most of the maln dishes are >10$. Would come here anytime I‘m in San Antonio.“
“We have visited this restaurant multiple times and the personal weather they have a full house or a few they always provide good service. The food has good flavor and taste fresh made plus they are fast in serving. Wishing you keep your great service and food!“
“Nice atmosphere on the river, prices are high, as expected. I had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, it was great. My husband has the street tacos, while they were tasty, they were dry due to the tortillas. The salsa has some spicev to it, guacamole was great, but not with the price for that appetizer. Server was ok, he was busy and forgot a couple things, but worked out fine. Overall, it was good for location and good food for a tourist area.“
“This is my favorite place to get tacos. I rate based on how well the Bean and Cheese taste. If you can’t make a good bean and cheese are you even a Mexican restaurant. This is the spot to be at. Rosy the cashier is the sweetest lady ever. The Green salsa is the best I dip my taco that sauce. Must try you won’t be disappointed.“
“Not bad. Ordered the pancake plate with eggs and bacon. Unfortunately they forgot my bacon but did bring it when I informed them of it. The pancakes were rather thick not fluffy but good. Not bad place to eat, with decent prices.Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp for easy enter and exit.“
“We sought out Henry's specifically for the puffy tacos when visiting San Antonio. The food did not disappoint and the service was friendly, helpful, and engaging. Great casual lunch. Our only complaint is that now they're a 14 hour drive away.“
“Everything was good except I stood up to reach the sweetener the chair fell back The waiter picked it up and moved it back away from the table didn't realize he pulled it back went to sit down and landed on the floor but they sang Happy Papasito Birthday song to my daughter“
“Bartender was super busy when we walked in, but I prefer the bar so I was willing to wait. However, the managers (even the kitchen manager) were all involved in the shift and helped the Bartender and took care of us right away. Amazing team, great leadership. The kitchen manager even got us excited telling us different things about the menu and his passions. I'll be back time and time again after an experience like this. Roberts margaritas were 10/10. As a restaurant manager myself it was just awesome to watch. Your kitchen manager was the highlight of my visit. Bar service was excellent“
“1st Time Here. Daughter of The lady that owns this Restaurant told me they are from Chicago Illinois?Took my Mom& Dad since they were visiting San Antonio. So I took them to Taco Rey?My mother is EXTREMELY VERY PICKY! I ask my Mom wow you have not made your FACES? She says because this place I really like ?I WILL BE “
“Have visited this location multiple times and my husband and I have always had a great experience. Food is delicious and the drinks are excellent! If you visit, ask for Patrick! Best serve we've had, he had such an amazing attitude and was so attentive. He made our date night even better!“
“This place is an absolute hidden gem, I would recommend it to anyone for the exceptional food, service and quality. It was actually the best Spanish food we've had since arriving in San Antonio. I would highly recommend stopping by and seeing for yourself what we are talking about and the prices were fair and reasonable as well as the food portions were great. So put this place on your list you will not be disappointed.“
“We will absolutely come here again, and again, and again. WOW. I love it all. The vibe. The decor. The music. The FOOD. I didn't have a drink, but I'm more than confident the drinks are fire too! I am so glad we came here, and I can't wait to come back again! We came here and got 2 lunch specials and 1 taco plate with a regular order of nachos. I'm sitting in the car right now far too full, but I'll take it! Carnitas nachos were GREAT! No fake cheese here! Great refried beans on top of perfect tostada chips, real cheese, fresh pico de gallo, and the pickled onions. The carnitas were crispy and not too greasy, and I could honestly eat them all day. Some of my favorite nachos ever. I got the Pollo Adobado tacos, and you are just as surprised as I am to say that I very much so enjoyed their chicken tacos. The chicken was tender, it had actual flavor, and the TORTILLAS WERE MAGIC. Perfect thickness to hold everything in the taco, perfect size, light, fluffy (yes, fluffy), and just so well done. The kicker was the pork belly taco though. Y'all. Don't sleep on the pork belly tacos. Perfection. Wouldn't change a thing. Could not change a thing. Every part of that taco was perfectly executed. I couldn't eat more than 3, but the crisp exterior and tender meat bursting with flavor had me on piggy cloud nine. Unreal good. I really can't wait to come back. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options, friendly staff, great food, and lots of fun themed nights and weekends brunch to keep the masses happy!“
“Located at the end of a small shopping Plaza the fare is a simple menu. Fries, salads, chicken tenders and a few other staples. I ordered a margarita flight which was very tasty and the chicken tenders. They have a full bar and they emphasize their homemade sauces.“
“I'll be back to try more! On the recommendation of a friend, I had the tacos de lengua guisada. Anyone who likes lengua knows that you take a big chance at a new place. Mary Lou's did not disappoint. Lengua is tender and flavorful. Tortillas are are a 10/10. Go see for yourself!“
“Tacos were great! Staff was great and helpful with recommendations! We had the Trailer park taco trashy, Migas, the beef fajita, chicken fajita and the Crosswords tacos... they were all DELICIOUS!!! Couldn't finish, took to go. I highly recommend!!!“
“My friend told me about this place because his mom owns it. I have to say it was great because I received exceptional service and great food at a great price. I got the chorizo and egg plate which came with fried potatoes beans and tortillas that were homemade. Definitely a spot you need to check out. Also the plate cost less than $8 which is very reasonable.“
“This very nonassuming spot was walking distance from our rental so we tried the first day for breakfast. The food and the value were outstanding. The breakfast tacos were great. We liked it so much that we came back for dinner our last night. Again, lots of amazing food and drinks. Try the queso flameado and Southtown Taquitos!“
“Really good food. I had the menudo. Huge serving. Tortillas are homemade the old fashioned way. Red salsa was really good. The server Letti was outstanding. Coffee is really good. My new favorite place by 1604 & Culebra. Do yourself a favor and stop by.“
“I’ve been looking for a good burrito… chipotle is gross to me… We had a freebird burrito with brisket and a monster with brisket with a small chips and queso.. it was so flavorful and every bite was delicious.. the queso was pretty good ?? looks like we found our place!“
“Rios Barbacoa is a fantastic place to get good authentic Mexican food. The barbacoa is very juicy, the salsa is perfect, the charro beans are literally TO DIE FOR, and the pork tamales will make you want to stuff your face with an endless supply. I can tell they take pride in their food and the customer service is superb. I will always stop here when I'm in San Antonio.“
“It's been awhile since I've been back here but let's just say that it was a really great experience and the food was excellent and the coffee was fresh, so if you're in Leon valley Texas you definitely have to try it ???“
