“Went to Refuge Bar for a couple drinks and honestly ended up having such a great time. They do have a two hour limit on our table, but everything we tried was excellent and the bartenders were incredibly attentive the entire night.

They gave great recommendations from the start, and by the end of the night, after drink number four and a shot, we were blindly trusting them to just pick our drinks for us. Zero regrets.

Huge shoutout to Julia, Alexander, and I believe the third bartender was Eric. You guys were awesome, welcoming, fun, and clearly know what you’re doing.

“Top notch bar. The staff there are the best mixologists I've encountered. They go through a LOT of rigorous and technical training and they don't just accept anybody. High standards and great ambience with an warm casual environment. I have never been disappointed here, nor has what I wanted from a drink been misunderstood or not clarified. The best I have ever had (better than Delia’s IYKYK). The churros…OMG they are perfection. The melted high cocoa chocolate was on point! And THANK YOU for making them soft! So tired of overly fried. “Played texas holdem and it was a nice atmosphere. Had to move to the front of the bar because the bartender was talking to the locals the whole time. The waitress was very much nice and always making sure everyone had what they wanted. She is also easy on the eyes 👀“

“Moon Bar has become my go to downtown. It’s small, intimate, and the vibe is always right, never too crowded, never chaotic.

The crowd is mature, everyone’s just vibing, the music is great, and the cocktails are actually really good. I’m picky, and they’ve always been quick to fix anything if needed.

“We had an amazing experience at Balboa! Starting with the complimentary valet, which was quick and friendly service. The entry to the restaurant was super nice and a great photo opportunity spot. Kyrah took excellent care of us during our visit, and we loved the team style service. It felt like we had a team serving us, and they are so quick and quiet that you can continue to hold conversations and visit but someone is always near if you need anything. Kyrah took special care to "refresh" our cocktail glasses when we finished about half of our drinks, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. Our table tried the fried shrimp, oysters, spicy ahi tuna roll, crab cake, Post Oak ribeye with pureed potatoes, salmon with the most delicious and unique salad, and heirloom tomatoes. The cocktails were delicious, including the Gold Rush, Rum Dum, and el Guero. The restaurant vibe is romantic but fun and sophisticated and has an open kitchen concept where you can see the food being made if you care to watch. I will most definitely be back and can confidently recommend this place to anyone!“

“I walked in and asked someone nearby for a menu .He said menus are online rudely and walked off . I stood up there for a few minutes no one came back up to greet me or take my order . As soon as some Caucasian people walk in a man came out back greeted them & seated them all while I was just standing there . I just left respectfully . I was shocked that this place of business only caters to certain races not the African Americans and I normally dine in at the Mexican Restaraunt but I seen that a new spot opened up and I wanted to support . My family has been̈ treated very nice at the Mexican restataunt in the same shopping center everytime we go Customer Service is superb . This Educated African American will happily spend her black dollars where it is appreciated .You all need to take notes on welcoming everyone to your place of business regardless of color .“

“My partner and I got the chicken pad thai and chicken red curry. We requested thai hot (their highest spice level) for both dishes! Our server was nice and was quick with their service. Ambiance is really nice and I love the music selection. While waiting for the food, I was adoring the place.

My partner enjoyed his dish but he did wish the noodles were more firm. It was more soggy than he preferred.

I enjoyed my curry too but I was expecting the highest spice level to be more spicy. It was really flavorful but towards the end of finishing my dish, I was starting to feel fatigued with the taste. It’s really creamy!“

“We went last night for my husband’s birthday. While the food was outstanding per usual, the service was deplorable. We waited 40 minutes before our order was taken and just sat with waters. Bread came after appetizers. Kids were completely done with their meals before adults received ours. Difficult experience with two small children. When we first got there, only three other tables had people at them so it wasn’t busy. Definitely expected better service.“
