“I have been to Anvil many times but always on a Sunday or Monday, but never been there on a Saturday, and let me tell you that it is a different animal on Saturdays ..... much much busier of course, but the age group changes completely ..... half of the folks there are around 25 if not younger .... while on Sundays or Mondays it is a different cup of tea all together.“

“I’ve been to Flight Club a few times and it’s always been well managed, fun, with great food and service.

Parking, however is no longer free in the garage. The sign was quite inconspicuous (on the floor by the exit??) which led to people getting tickets from “Parking & Transportation Compliance Inc.” from Florida. I believe they have added pay to park signs on the pillars inside the garage now, so be sure to scan them or you’ll get a $45-$85 fine.“

“Classy, intimate vibes at this cocktail lounge! Upon entering, you were seated with a glass of water and warm towel to clean your hands. I inquired about the happy hour, which they no longer have, but my server was kind enough to still honor the deal since they silently discontinued the deal without announcing it on social media. We got the Rolls-Royce martini and best seller classic cocktail evergreen (original price $16 each, but we got them for $8 each)! Both tasted clean and strong. Definitely recommend this place for a date night or girls night!“

very attentive and good service, they start with warm towels to clean your hands and give you a small plum soda as a palate cleanser

. The drinks are very original and are Japanese focused and include things like highballs and Japanese whiskeys. Something to know is that the drinks are largely umami flavored. If you like sweeter drinks they don’t have many, although there are dessert drinks. My significant other really enjoyed the fury winter highball which he said was fresh and crisp. The kakitori was like eating shaved ice with chocolate biscuits. The matcha drink was smooth and lightly sweet

“It is rare to find a tiny, friendly, non-douchey bar in the inner loop in Houston to have one cocktail on your way home from work in the most walkable area of this city. This is one of few. It is also "local Houston." It's the way it used to be when many similar bars existed here. It is technically smaller than Manhatten bars in a town where EVERYTHING, including restaurant serving sizes, will feed four people on one entree. If you want to know this city for who it actually is, visit old-school mom-and-pop shops like this.“

“Love the atmosphere. It’s dark, full bar, plenty of seating. The only food I had was a couple different tacos on Tuesday; 1/2 off for taco Tuesday. The smoked salmon had a big flavor, the Buenos Aires tacos were good, but should have a bit more of their aioli, that is a good aioli! Make sure to ask for salsa or it will not come with the tacos. The verde is good, not quite hot enough for verde (the hotter of the sauces for tacos is normally verde; this was good just not hot). Beautiful place for a good time and a little trendy but not in a bad way. I would easily make it a regular place if I lived near Rice Village. Not overly expensive, but definitely on par for the area. No table service (except for receiving the food), which makes it lovable as a neighborhood bar. Old black and white movies on the tvs, and very cool easy listening music overhead that doesn’t overpower conversations. Awesome staff, friendly and helpful. They have a discount food option for every night. It’s a good option to avoid the overdone rice village trend setters yet could be a great place to bring friends. Outside seats with smoking. And 13 beers on tap. Even saw a beautiful dog with a customer. Overall it’s a great place and hope they continue to do what they do!

This live music lounge offers an upscale yet laid-back atmosphere. It’s an excellent venue for folks who enjoy live music, especially jazz, R&B, and soul, in an intimate setting. Beautiful décor, comfortable seating, and great acoustics.

The bar staff and servers are attentive, who understand the balance between being present but not intrusive. Food and drinks are generally well-received and the crowd typically skews "grown-and-sexy". It’s worth noting that it can get busier during weekend nights — I HIGHLY recommend that you reserve a table because this place gets packed-out.“

“We had an amazing experience at Balboa! Starting with the complimentary valet, which was quick and friendly service. The entry to the restaurant was super nice and a great photo opportunity spot. Kyrah took excellent care of us during our visit, and we loved the team style service. It felt like we had a team serving us, and they are so quick and quiet that you can continue to hold conversations and visit but someone is always near if you need anything. Kyrah took special care to "refresh" our cocktail glasses when we finished about half of our drinks, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. Our table tried the fried shrimp, oysters, spicy ahi tuna roll, crab cake, Post Oak ribeye with pureed potatoes, salmon with the most delicious and unique salad, and heirloom tomatoes. The cocktails were delicious, including the Gold Rush, Rum Dum, and el Guero. The restaurant vibe is romantic but fun and sophisticated and has an open kitchen concept where you can see the food being made if you care to watch. I will most definitely be back and can confidently recommend this place to anyone!“

“I had a great time celebrating my birthday. The drinks were amazing. The service was excellent. Everyone said they like their food. I had an issue with mine. I got the lobster and filet mignon roll and it was pretty pricey, and it was not good. The only good part that was good was the fried Lobster. The roll itself was not tasty at all. I will be back, but I was disappointed. I wanted to treat myself.“

Came in Saturday evening for dinner. They had just opened up so they weren’t busy and we were able to sit wherever we wanted. We started off with drinks and appetizers, I ordered the brujería and we had the milk buns and masala fries. The milk buns were just okay they didn’t have the best flavor. But the masala fries were fantastic! My friend ordered the lamb kabob and she really enjoyed her dish, the lamb was nice and tender. I ordered the Chicken 65 and brussels sprouts, the chicken was delicious. The flavor was incredible. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, the bathrooms are private, unisex, and very well kept. Our waiter Oscar was super friendly and he had some great recommendations. Overall, I’ll definitely be back!“

Something about his poor little starving wife not getting shredded cheese quickly enough during covid. That guy was a complete tool (probably still is), so I want to do my part to increase ratings. If I’m ever in the Dallas area, I promise to stop by. He had a phony complaint about it being his first date night in months, which was disproved quickly. People found his review history and it was littered with complaints. Basically the dude is a male Karen that deserves ridicule for the rest of his life for being a tool.“

The burrata was so delicious, the oysters were amazing, and I couldn’t get enough of my chicken kebabs! So flavorful and savory. We have not had anything bad but the kebab gyro def stands out as a favorite for me. Only con is a little pricey even for vegan place, most entrees around $20.“

“I ate here a 2nd time, not as good as the first time. My burger was on the dry side, the spicy burger is very spicy not complaining about that, the buns felt very dry and cold. Burger needs some sauce or something to go with that spicy heat. There was no mayo or anything, just dry cold buns, zero sauce of any kind. It had fresh veggies.....
