“First went there earlier this year, impressed us the minute we walked in the door, employees greet you upon entering with a truly warm, illuminating smile. When we were seated, we wanted to watch a certain game and the manager, Laura really went out of her way, bent over backwards to ensure they found the game(s) we wanted to watch, then ensured that the games would stay on ! The waitress who waited on us ( can't remember her name ) was exactly like the manager, helpful, courteous and quick with her service, thus resulting in making this our favorite location for watching sports with the drinks and menu items to order, with this type service, we will always make this our number 1 location !! Thank You For Everything !!“

“I have been wanting to try this place for some time now after excellent reviews from friends. It exceeded expectations from the well-balanced and delicious cocktails to both cold and hot dishes. For cocktails I tried the Maracuya (welll-balanced, fruit forward but not too sweet) and Club Esmeralda (balanced with fresh herbaceous essence). My husband had the Saltao’ Sour (balanced Mezcal cocktail but not too Smokey with egg white for a nice finish) and Hola Oaxaca (Smokey cocktail balanced with the Orgeat). I recommend trying them all! For food we started with the Nikkei Cebiche which was the highlight of our meal. The fresh Yellow Fin tuna layered with flavors instantly had us ready for a second visit. On to the Piqueos section of the menu where we enjoyed the Yucca Frita, Conchitas a la Parmesana and Anticuchos. Each a warm dish with continued fresh flavors. For our main course we shared the Chaufa (fried rice with pork belly, sausage, egg etc) again layers of flavors and a hearty portion to share. We completed our food journey each with a glass of wine, he a Sauv Blanc from Chile and myself an Albariño. Please come enjoy this lovely gem in Southtown. “Had an incredible evening at Battalion tonight celebrating my wife's birthday!! I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and this was a perfect opportunity for a date night. For starters we had the spinach dumplings and the the meatballs, both were delicious but my favorite were the dumplings by far. For our mains we had the lamb chops and the tenderloin, both incredible. For sides we shared the green beans, the cavatappi, and the manacotti pasta. We were so delighted with all of it and almost too full for dessert....but still sampled the smores panna cotta and the tiramisu. Our server was over the top friendly and helpful, assisted with drink selections and never left us waiting or wanting for anything. “Today we had an extraordinary experience thank to our server Gregory we mentioned to him that we were excited and celebrating life because our 4 year old went for her yearly MRI scans and came out NED. He went out of his way to put his team together to sing to our precious warrior with a delicious cake and candle, now she is 3 years NED. “I went there with a bunch of my college friends and honestly everything was great. Chips and salsa was excellent and the guacamole tasted great. We ordered a few top shelf margaritas pitchers and they were just as strong as he said they would be. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. “We found this place on Google and it was close to our hotel. We all loved it. Everything is made on site or grown locally. My hubby loves "meat porn" so this was his place. When you first walk in, they have their homemade meats hanging in a meat locker. I thought he was going to lose his mind! Pizza and dessert was beyond fantastic! It all is fresh AF. No joke. “I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“
