“Great place! Was in the area and saw this hidden gem tucked away in the corner of a strip mall on Pat Booker Rd. Served me with a smile and pleasant attitude, even though I was dining alone. The restaurant is clean and the cuisine was delicious! I had the veal parmigiana which isn’t easy to find in the San Antonio area. Thank you!“

“I walked in to pick up my carry out. I was promptly greeted with a friendly hello. I got the pappardelle bolognese, my husband got the fettuccine Della casa both small, and split the arancini. Everything was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce had great flavor. My husband thought the flavors married well and liked the crispiness of the pancetta. We both liked the Arancini. It was crispy the outside and a good cheesy texture on the inside. My only little complaint is that the size of the small was a little too small, but we are both big eaters. I highly recommend this restaurant“

“Heard about this place from a friend and decided to give it a try. They have a customer for life! The crust is perfect, the cheese to sauce ratio is perfect, and the sizes and combos they offer have something for everyone. I personally get a classic pepperoni in the 10". The perfect amount of pizza just for me!“

“We're in town from Michigan and were looking for a local place.... we hit the jackpot with Mattenga's. Our pizzas were done fast and were phenomenal, the people were amazing and so friendly. The waitress was prompt, friendly and helpful in providing more information to us before we made our menu selection. Nice pictures and Italian feeling surroundings.Parking: There are about 20 free parking spots in front and beside Papa Dantes.Kid-friendliness: Welcomed our toddler and provided seating for him.Wheelchair accessibility: Able to get handicapped parking and my rollator into and out of Papa Dantes.“

“Very good restaurant and very kind service there as there food is just absolutely amazing. I believe I got myself some raviolis and they were wonderful. Highly recommend as they are a small restaurant and deserve to been noticed more as there food is pretty good. It also gives off that Italian feel as if I was in Italy at Rome again. “My husband and I had our first date there 7 years ago. We just got married and I had been wanting to take him back. Last night we finally had our first date night and it was so perfect! We had calamari and shrimp Pompeii for appetizers and I had fettuccine Alfredo and my husband had pepperoni pizza. Everything was so delicious! Our waitress was really nice and we had so much fun! I went in tonight cause I left my dinner at home on the counter, and they just gave me a pizza that another customer called paid for and then decided they didnt want it. So I took it, never had their pizza before, its pretty dang good. Im not even a fan of NY style pizza, im from Buffalo, so Neapolitan is my preferred. “Excellent visit. Ordered and sat through a wait for the food but it was good and plentiful. I had the Lasagna and it was piping hot and good sized. The pizza was loaded and smelled great that my grandkids were enjoying. The salads were oversized and full of ingredients. Overall a good experience.“

But other servers could try to be less intrusive; I feel that chatty Kathy offering to fill up my tea should not interrupt conversations at the table, and should limit her visit to about five seconds. The guy that reached in front of me to remove some dishes should ask first, and not presume I am finished. I am not bothered by dishes on the table. But overall it was a nice visit!“

“Just went recently. Only regret is I only got to go once before leaving San Antonio. Food was wonderful, pizza had crunchy crust and a lot of flavor. Portions were very generous and the service was friendly. Cherry on top was my kids loved the food too. Definitely recommend this place.“

“December 21, 2022: Ordered a lot of food for six adult to celebrate my son's 51st birthday. Because my husband is in CICU, we're keeping contact to a minimum so I did a curbside pickup. It was a big order, including desserts, and they nearly got it perfectly. They forgot the 12 bread sticks (wonderful but not really necessary) that were supposed to come along with the salad for six. We honestly didn't miss them and planned for leftover salad, soup and desserts. It was all SO good. Thank you, OG. DELICIOUS! UPDATE:. OG did NOT forget the bread sticks! I found them today, three days later, just where they should have been. My dear Grandson who unloaded forgot to get them from the car! Mea culpa!!March 12, 2024: My husband, his brothers widow and I had dinner here this evening. We started with the most tender, delicious fried calamari I've ever had. SIL had their lasagna & salad. I had Eggplant Parmesan, and my husband had their Shrimp & Chicken Carbonara. My eggplant was so crisp and tender, not oily, and delicious. My husband said he has a new favorite Italian meal! He loves the grilled shrimp and chicken, and the creamy, light sauce was perfect for someone not a fan of marinara. A+ service and atmosphere. We'll be back.“
