“My family stumbled onto Mandola’s ItalianKitchen in Odessa Florida. What a delightful restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was excellent. We were greeted at the door by the manager, Chris. He explained how the restaurant ordering and seating worked. We ordered at the counter, where the young woman patiently took our order, clarifying along the way. The wine selection for the casual environment was impressive. We were given a table number and we found a seat. Immediately someone brought warm focaccia bread and Italian oil to dip it in. Our food arrived at our table surprisingly quick. The portions were huge (luckily we were provided to-go boxes when we were ready to leave) The servers were friendly and professional. The chefs were visible as they prepared the food. Our used dishes were removed promptly as we finished one course after another. Then Chris, the manager who first greeted us, came to our table to ensure that our experience had been not just satisfactory, but excellent. Which it was! We are putting Mandola’s Odessa on our favorite restaurant list for when we return to Tampa. Thank you!“

“I really enjoy Italian restaurants, and I hadn’t had the chance to visit this one before, so it was a very pleasant surprise. The place is small and cozy, with a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.

We started with the calamari, which was really good. My friend and I shared the milanesa, it was very large and delicious, served with pasta that was also quite good. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan, which he really enjoyed. We also tried a fettuccine with portobello mushrooms, and it was very tasty.

Overall, great service, good food, and a lovely place. I definitely recommend it.“

“Carmelas has got to be the longest lasting good restaurant for Drippin folks along with Thyme and Dough. Consistently great food and service. It goes unnoticed I think because of its location on a small strip of spaces shared with a gas station/convenience store. Family owned. At the corner of RR12 and Hamilton Pool. We have never been dissapointed with their food, desserts, drinks and wine selection.“

“First timer. Main dining room was being remodeled. The second dining room was open , but it was bit noisy. Fortunately it was a nice day to eat outside on their patio. They had put up wind breakers which was nice as it was pretty breezy. The music was a bit loud, so the server turned it down immediately upon request. The food and drinks were very good, our server, Beau, was very attentive. I hope we get a chance to go back soon.“

“Please don’t get me wrong, the waitress was wonderful, and I’m sure the food is great—I haven’t had a chance to eat mine yet since I ordered it to go. I stopped in with my son and a friend to grab my food to go because I had to get to work, while my son and my friend ate there. I didn’t get my to-go burger until the very end of their meal, which made me late for work. When I brought it up to the manager, his response was maybe you should call it in next time and then turned his back on me and walked away. Oh no, you did not just say that! This manager is doing a huge disservice to the restaurant and leaving a bad taste in people’s mouths. Like I said, the waitress was sweet as can be, and I’m hoping the burger is as good as I’ve been told, but the manager does not need to be interacting with customers at all. Until he is gone or his customer service attitude changes, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The audacity and rudeness he showed from the time I arrived until I left blows my mind. I work in the service industry myself, and I would never even think about talking to someone that way, especially a customer who is supporting my establishment.“
