“Casa de Marisco is a staple in Weslaco. Don't let the name fool you. It isn't just seafood they serve here. But they have an awesome shrimp cocktail and the Tierra y Mar dishes are an awesome choice for those who want fried shrimp and fish while also hitting the spot for the chicken and beef fajitas. I always recommend it when asked for a good place to eat. This is my botana place. The botanita (for one) easily feeds 2 or 3. So much food. It's been a while since I've dined in but I see some familiar faces and they've always had great service. KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!“

“OMG! They had the best ox tail soup I have ever eaten! The meat was cooked to perfection and the broth was amazing. After raving about the soup they gave us a sample of cabrito and mole, we were beyond words. It's a husband-wife team and they can cook and the waitresses are super friendly. You won't be disappointed, it's worth the trip! Enjoy“

“My daughter and I tried Mexican Restaurant Doña Paz in Weslaco for the 1st time & it was so good! The fajitas are tender, juicy and full of flavor. The rice was moist and flavorful. The beans are good. The cheese enchiladas are light and cheesy. I can't wait to come back and try other plates. The staff are super nice and friendly.“

“So much more than we expected! We were a group of 13 on a mission trip to paint a church. We asked one of the church members where to eat and she recommended Arturo's, which ended up being walking distance from our hotel. So after a day of painting, we walked in dirty wearing paint spattered clothes, not realizing how nice this place is. No reservation. Another large group was also arriving. The host greeted us courteously and managed to seat us within five-10 minutes while they put tables together. Excellent service (they work as a team) and very good food made it a great experience. The only disappointing item was the flan.
People watchers would love this place-so many large groups were celebrating special occasions (including a bridal party with an absolutely beautiful bride).“

“The environment is pretty grim as the owner and employees seem to only be there to do their job and make a buck. Dont expect a jolly welcoming place, but the tortillas are the best corn tortillas that I can find this side of the Rio Grande River here in the valley.“

“The food is great, but they’re charging on your debit card extra and by law they’re not supposed to be doing that you can file a complaint and they will be fined $500 every time they do it only government at schools and other government can do that“

“The food is good I got quesadillas and they were pretty good the cheese, the meat, and the tortillas they use for the quesadillas where all good. Most of the prices are under 20$. I will always come back to this amazing place!

“Wow, we tried this place out of the blue and it was super good!!! Chips and salsa came with the order , the horchata was sooo delicious , the charro beans were good. I got the trompo tacos, and I didn’t like the flavor of those so I won’t get that again, but the bistek tacos were good. My combo came with the potato & it was perfect. I would come here again, and it might be my new taco spot.“

“Went today 4-19-23 with my family for lunch. I’ve gone to Rene’s Restaurant in Progresso Mexico since I was practically a toddler. And I just found out on social media about this place. my family and I go to Progresso just to eat Milanesa de res @ Renes. The milanesa de res at Renés in Weslaco TASTES THE SAME! I’m so happy I found this gem! My father and brother will be coming down to the valley from work next month and we will go visit Rene’s in Weslaco! Our customer service was stupendous and the restaurant was so clean!“

“Had such a great experience dining in. My husband is a Veracruz native. He expressed how the flavor of the food we tried was the closest thing to home he has tried in awhile. The service was excellent. We ordedered the memela, half chinameca and half Sesina. The flavor was authentic delicious and so well made. We accompanied our meal with A fresh Cucumber Agua Fresca. 10/10 Highly Recommend! Viva Veracruz!“

Yeah the management ruin the experience because the waitress aren't allowed to talk with you long and if they do they watch and watch making the experience suck but they do need to stop that and it's like they are jealous or something and they shouldn't have a restaurant like this if they cant deal with what the ladies have to do. They did seem afraid to talk too long, so pay attention guys they will ruin your fun. These ladies are hustling making money and if you don't like money then you are in tye wrong business. One of the young busboys will stay close to listen in but food is great ? Buffalo burger and fries are delicious ?

“The food is not as good as Mexican but for the United States, I think the price is affordable and you can eat healthy and be vegan. Just check because almost everything has animal products, I recommend that you order a salad ? with everything you want and the tortillas on the side. This is the only way to ensure that it is vegan.

Vegetarian options: Vegan options, it comes with specifications which allergenic ingredients it includes. Ingredients of animal origin also come.

“We were looking for a quaint “Mom & Pop” place for breakfast/lunch that is reasonably priced. We found it. This place is no frills but the food is excellent. The dinner rolls are huge, heavy and yeasty. The breakfast biscuits are heavy and slightly sweet. The cinnamon rolls are AMAZING!! They are as big as a dinner plate and are a meal in themselves! We ordered two to share and ended up taking one home. The coffee is good. My only “druthers” is that they do not serve real butter. I prefer real butter over whipped vegetable oil. We’ll be back!“
