“The food is quite good if you like the cuisine, I find fried foods tasteless though, so don't go by my a fickle taste buds. I truly enjoyed the key lime pie and the hush puppies are the best I've ever had. Service was amazing and the atmosphere is that of a popular small town eaterie, it's comforting and unassuming.“

“Born in raised in Cajun country I usually tend to stay away from most crawfish and Cajun restaurants in other areas of the country but I was assured this place was legit. I was so impressed, I have yet to have anything bad there (I mostly eat boiled seafood every time or fried shrimp). Don’t let the size of the building fool you, there is some great cooking coming out of that small place.Worth the drive to Kilgore.“

“This is definitely a... do not judge a book by its cover situation. We live about an hour away from the Longview area but we were in town for doctor visits and we wanted some sushi. Looked up online best places for sushi and this place popped up on Google. We got there and the outside definitely does not look as nice as the inside. We almost went somewhere else because we thought it wouldn't be good, but wow I am so glad we didnt!! The service and food was amazing!!! Everything was so delicious and fresh! We will most definitely be coming back when we visit Longview area again!“

“It was our first time at Skipper's yesterday, 4/03/24. We arrived 7pm and were told it'd be a 30-35 minute wait. We were happy to wait since it was our first trip and we drove about 40 minutes to come try it.While we waited my fiancé went to the bar to order us drinks. He said he was served promptly but was told by the bartender that the restaurants computer system was down so they were having difficulty. I will also share that he got a single shot of liquor and it cost $8, seemed a bit steep but no complaints. We were sat at a booth exactly after a wait of 35 minutes. Once sat we were told again that the system was down so they couldn't take orders but would be happy to get us drinks while we wait. Again, no issue. We appreciated the honest communication! By the time we did order it was 8:30. We ordered crawfish boat 3 hot and boudin egg rolls. The food was amazing!! We would come back for the egg rolls alone. The crawfish is the best we've had in East Texas from flavor to size.Overall we will return to skippers. They were communicative about issue, great food, and great atmosphere. A special thanks to the sweet server who continued to stop and talk to our baby. She kept him distracted and giggly!“

“We have been wanting to try this place for years. We walked in, and no one greeted us. It seemed like they were surprised we were there. We pointed to a table, and they nodded and said we could sit wherever. We sat down, and our waitress was hard to understand. It was a mix of speaking softly and with a hard accent. Got water to drink and Longview water or this part of Longviews water is not good. So my wife got a diet coke. They have delicious and fresh chips, and they bring out their salsa. It wasn't amazing, but they do have an alternate green salsa that was better and fresh. You have to get upon request. Definitely recommend that. We got the triple dip appetizer, but do not recommend it. It was basically an avocado smoothie and mac and cheese sauce x2. I ordered the Carne asada Torta and 5 street tacos(asada and chorizo mix), and my wife ordered the Pastor Gorditas. It took 45 minutes to get our food, there were only 2 customers in the restaurant at 11am. Us larger people had eaten 3 baskets of chips while we waited and were VERY tempted to leave as we were pretty much full.... it finally came out, and it was DELICIOUS, fresh, and well seasoned food. My wife loved her Gorditas, she tried them for the first time, and the AL Pastor was EXTREMELY juicy. This is like a tex-mex place but has a secret authentic Mexican side that they don't really push to us gringos. But definitely recommend that part of their menu.“

“This place is so good! We moved here from Orlando & have definitely felt the loss of Michelin-competing food. Judd’s completely fills that hole! Their prices are fully reasonable ($145 after tip for 6 people), and I’ve never seen a place fill their cocktails up so high! None of that “vegas ice” here! The place is cool, quiet, and clean. The atmosphere was so welcoming and calm. Not too quiet (e.g. not the kind where you’re afraid you’ll scrape your plate and everyone will stare) but not loud at all. They have a full bar, and a bartender that knows how to use it. The servers were all so sweet, and checked on us just the right about. They didn’t even come by when I’d just taken a bite, ha!The food was genuinely delectable. Every single thing we ate, we were all impressed with. All of it!“

“I gave 4 stars overall, we went on a Friday night and when we got there there was about 6 tables and it took 58 minutes to get our whole order out. 7 of us were eating 3 kids and 4 adults. Appetizers came out last which made me scratch my head. They serve bottle pops and you get one with your mill for .99 cents and any agter that it cost $2.50 after that. I was a little irritated about that considering my kids spent an hour waiting for food and I didn't think that was right. Overall the food was good I was expecting more cajun food like pastas but it is basically a fast food place with margaritas out the rear. The atmosphere was very very loud, it was very hard to hear each other talk. It ended up being like a bar or club pretty much. It is not a family environment. Don't go here if you are wanting a quick meal as it does take awhile to get food. The manager did offer the kids ice cream as a courtesy because it took so long for the food. For singles and couples I don't think this is a bad place to go but not for family in my opinion, but it is just my opinion. Been there trired it but just not my cup of tea.“

“Oh my goodness! We are not from Longview. We read the reviews and decided to get take out from The Catch. We both ordered the Admirals Feast. There was enough food on 1 of these to feed 3 or 4 people. It was wonderful! The fried green tomatoes were great too. Plenty of sauces, plastic silverware, ketchup, salt and pepper were included. The housekeeping ladies got to enjoy mine as well just couldn't eat it all. Highly recommend!“

“My wife had a taste for seafood, and we have been here before. But today, Friday, February 2, 2024, it was awesome.Just after three so we missed the luncheon special. No problem! My wife got her two whole catfish with some onion rings and I got catfish filets with sausage jambalaya. Why I did that? (I did not want fries.) But bae-bae, that jambalaya wasn't no joke. We got our food, we were quieter than church mice cause we were eating good!!! I even ate my coleslaw... I don't eat coleslaw!Food and service were absolutely great. Can't wait to come back.“
