I came when it was slow, yet they were out of an item that I wanted. I substituted something else. The food was good. I went to get ice cream and was told that, too, was out. I find it funny that I was still charged the full price for the meal but was not allowed to have the full dinner.
COVID-19 still allows: Walk-in, take-out, and full menu (except no ice cream when you leave). I grew up near the original in Texas, and so this is how barbecue is *supposed to be.*
My family made this a weekly thing, with sliced brisket, lots of sauce, smoked sausage, sides of beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. Watched sports or movies together while chowing down in front of the TV— real “comfort food.”

Went at 7pm on a Wednesday.
Food was meh. Not great. Not bad. Got a 3 meat plate with 2 sides.
Brisket was dry and chewy. Pulled pork was good with lots of smoky flavor, probably the best part of my visit. The sausage was good but not amazing.
Side of mac and cheese was meh. Maybe a small bit better than a box mix as written. The potatoes I got were good.
The sauces were also good. 8/10 and they were served heated which was nice.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is a reliable spot for delicious pulled pork sandwiches and brisket. Customers enjoy the tasty fries and clean environment. The food is amazing and served hot, with fantastic customer service from the extremely friendly and attentive staff. The pulled pork was good, though a little fatty, and the fried okra was good. While the free ice cream is no longer offered, the food quality remains consistently great.
