“The Cafe Rio drive thru makes it way too easy for me to eat tacos more than a few times a week. I can zip in and out of there in just a few minutes and the food is always perfection.
I've been there so often I've actually made friends with one of the cashiers, the adorable Kaylen who I LOVE TO TIP because she is the absolute greatest person ever. She has the warmest, most fun personality and I love to joke with her, she totally brightens my day.
She has never, ever, not even one single time ever gotten my order wrong. She deserves a lot of praise for that because sometimes if I'm ordering for several people I've given her a large complicated order and every order is 100% right.
She's so great.I asked my son if he'd marry her, but he said he'd have to meet her first.
If Cafe Rio was a church I'd be an active member because I visit them religiously. The food comes from Heaven and it's made by Angels.

“Food was good but the girl with a short ponytail working the register was being very rude to the other girl making orders pushing her out of the way multiple times and reaching over her without saying anything. We see this happen multiple times while we were waiting for the steak to be ready and we just thought it was very unprofessional and rude of her.“

“We have traveled quite a bit in Mexico over the years. Our favorite places to eat are small, home-owned, “hole in the wall” type eateries. Always good food, warm pleasant people and just a comfortable place to be. We found that at El Gallo Giro. No corporate rubber chicken sandwiches here. Drop by for a fine meal and a touch of Mexico. I don’t think you will be disappointed…“

“We took a group to the Holy taco for lunch today. We were served quickly, and the food was delicious! We had the gringo and the taco. Both were as authentic as I have ever had. wonderful, friendly family atmosphere. Will definitely be coming here again! Would recommend highly to anyone who wants authentic Mexican cuisine.“

“The food was absolutely delicious. The family enjoyed all of their food/orders. I got the Sonora Style burrito and it was huge, delicious and filled to the brim. Wife and daughter each got a carne asada quesadilla and there was so much cheese and the meat was so tender, juicy and flavorful. My son got the carne asada nachos and he devoured every last chip and helped finish off the last bites of quesadillas. The people working were very nice and the location was very easy to find and get to. Highly reccomend.“

“I LOVE this place. It’s my go to Mexican spot in Provo. My greatest indicator of a quality spot truthfully if they don’t speak English well—that’s how you know it’s authentic. If you don’t speak Spanish, they’re of course still capable of helping you, but the food is simply GAS. I especially love their tortas but all is great.“

“Very good. My husband and I wanted to try something new and randomly saw this place. The cheese steak burrito was very good. My husband put the boom boom sauce on it but regretted his decision because for him it was too spicy, so just a heads up, it is spicy. That was his only complaint. Other than that, it was very good food!“

I ordered the Morita dish with a side of red rice and spaghetti. Spaghetti was whatever yet the DEEP, SMOKY FLAVOR OF THE MORITA SAUCE WAS AMAZING!! After they brought chips and salsa to the table, and their red salsa had a dash of smoky flavor, I had high hopes for this dish, and they didn't disappoint! We'd love to know how they got their chicken so tender.

My girlfriend got the Mole Poblano dish, and loved it as well.

“First time visiting and I will definitely be coming back! My husband came by Don Joaquin's a few days ago and couldn't stop raving about it so I decided to join him there for lunch today.... let me tell you that I am so glad that I did! The restaurant is spacious, clean and they have some freezers with Popsicles, paletas and ice cream bars and fried doraditos by the ordering station. Menu is simple but sometimes that all you need right? I got the gringa combo, which has 3 tacos (al pastor, chicken and asada) with a drink and my husband got an asada burrito with a side of rice. I also got a slice of strawberry tres leches cake which was stellar! Every single bite was lovely; everything was flavored so well and was fresh! Definitely recommend if you are in the area - you won't be disappointed!“

“For poor college students (they have a BYU discount menu) looking for a sit-down Mexican restaurant with good food and not extreme prices, this was great. I’m not the one to rate authenticity but it sure as heck tasted great. I had steak gallanitos (corn empanadas smothered in some amazing tomatillo sauce), a lengua street taco (yeah it’s cow tongue and that was weird but it was good), and my wife got the BYU discount menu enchilada.
Service was great, restaurant wasn’t crowded or loud, music was an appropriate volume, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
I saw a review from a couple weeks ago saying they didn’t take cards. Not sure what was going on then because they definitely took my Discover card yesterday.“
