“I served my mission in Sonora and have tried “Sonora” dogs and “Hermosillo” dogs from other places, but this was the right one. The bread was perfect (that is probably the hardest part). But the whole thing was amazing. The only thing that would make it better is if they offered a doble wini option.“
“My wife had me drive all the way to Orem (from Sandy) in December just before Christmas just to visit Yoyo's Taco Truck. Well, OK...so we DID do some Christmas Shopping at University Place Mall afterward - and ate our tacos there in the mall's food court - but for us, the highlight of our Christmas Holiday trip was YoYo's Tacos! My wife had heard of this taco truck on Facebook and since it had rave reviews we just HAD to make the trip to the Smith's parking lot there off of 350 N Freedom Blvd. and found the Yoyo's truck! I ordered three street tacos ($2.80 EA) with the Birria marinated beef...which was de-lish! But I should have ordered the much larger burrito with the Birria for $14.00 My wife enjoyed her street tacos and we realized that we were still hungry after finishing only a few each. But hey, live and learn, right? With that said, the cost of dinner exceeded the value, we think. YMMV. Next trip we're going when it is much warmer (they had a nice LPG warmer outside for the customers,) and get larger orders for each of us. I found out that I love Birria...but never heard of it before. The Birria was definitely the go-to meat for these tacos, burritos, and their other specials. May have to order "Danny's Special" next time...a plate of Birria with rice, beans, four corn tortillas, and Au Jus (what YoYo's refers to as "Consome") for dipping...all for $15. Four Stars for some flavorful Michoacan cuisine but it came at a high price (doesn't everything these days?) that didn't leave us feeling like we fully got our money's worth.“
“Lived in Provo a couple years and thought to finally leave a review. Food isn't quite like what it was like for me in California, but it's unfair to compare the two. So its pretty up there in terms of what you can get in Utah, and the service is straightforward and easy. Food came out in less than 10 minutes for me, which is always great to see. It has a nice atmosphere inside with nice ambient lighting. By far one of my favorites around downtown provo.“
“Whenever they are offering their Chiles en Nogada, be sure to order it! This chef is from the region this dish was created and he prepares this pork and apple dish in cream sauce better than the best restaurants I have had it in Mexico. The staff is delightful, as well. This down-stairs restaurant is a hidden gem.“
“One of my husbands favorite places to eat tacos. He loves the shrimp tacos and the carne asada tacos remind him of home in Mexico. We love the Al Pastor tacos and the roasted salsa. Definitely recommend!Wheelchair accessibility: Have a huge ramp up to the place to order.“
“The pupusas here are DELICIOUS! I love this place so so much! I'm a huge pupusa fan, and I hate how they are in Provo because I live in Draper, and every time I'm craving a pupusa, I make the drive! It's totally worth it. Let me tell you why these are the best pupusas In all of UT. I've been around literally EVERY pupusa place in UT, and none NONE of them compare to these delicious pupusas. Something about them is just different. The sizing is perfect, the beans are delicious, the cheese is so flavorful, and meshes well with the beans inside the pupusa. I always get the revueltas. Which are the beans, cheese, and pork ones. The pork is SOOOO delicious. Definitely is and has that homemade taste. Very authentic. They give you the red sauce on the side with the traditional Salvadorian cabbage salad. These both combined with the pupusas, are heavily. YUM! Also, not just the pupusas are delicious here. Their other foods on the menu are delicious and equally as yummy as the pupuas. The waiters are always so sweet, and the tables are super clean, great atmosphere, and great service! Would I recommend this place? Um, ABSOLUTELY drop everything and go now!!!! Lol, I will also say the price of the pupusas is pretty great for the portion size! As you can tell... this place has my heart. I've been coming here since I was a little girl and when it was owned by the previous owners. The new owners are Bolivian but kept the same recipes! I just wish they were open on Sundays still. Now they don't open Sundays. Furthermore, I still Love this place!!!!“
“UNREAL, AMAZING, DELICIOUS!! We found this place as students a couple years ago and have since moved away but we dream of this place. Small but mighty, this place is it. It’s hard to find the real Mexican food but La Catrina’s always gets it right. Wish we lived closer. Oh well, we will continue to travel to Provo to get out fix!!Kid-friendliness: Our kids eat the grilled chicken off the tacos (they love) and we order fries too. It’s a win for everyone.“
“Such a fun place to hang out. We got the teriyaki steak and it was incredible. Great vibes and good food. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone that is visiting. We’ve lived in Provo for 8 years and this is one of the best places to eat downtown.“
“The food here is excellent! I enjoy the beef tongue quesadilla! Once you get your food there is a cart with tons of toppings like onions and sauces ranging from the guacamole salsa to the habanero salsa. They also have a lot of good bottled drink options. If you’re look for good authentic Mexican food, this should be your stop.Parking: Shared with several businessesWheelchair accessibility: No auto doors“
“Brenda was so nice she got me a Sope to try and OMG ? it was phenomenal, I’m from Kentucky I had never had such now I want to move to Utah just to eat Sobeys. It was delicious. She is the best you need to come and check this place out. It’s delicious.!!!!!!!!!!! Good??????“
“We went there and I had a Chimichanga. The meals cost about 12.50 each. You order and pay up front. Then the cashier brings you your food. I was surprised to see a big plate come my way. It had a good helping of spanish rice and refried beans. Also, there was a small salad. The chimichanga was big. It was moist and tasted good. The food was good. It had a different style of taste. But it was good. The flour tortilla was deep-fried. My wife had a quesidia. It was a big portion. Again, it was cooked differently, but it was good. The atmosphere was good. But it was cold. I wished I would have worn a coat. It was casual with wooden tables and chairs. I had to get directions to the bathroom. The cashier was kind and helpful. We both said we would return.“
“Update: we just tried a new dish yesterday that they're adding to the menu, Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas in Red Sauce! Very good and always the best service and welcome from the owners and staff! This is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Provo and we have been regulars for years! Love the food and always have a great experience. The owners put a lot of time into making everything perfect and are often there at lunchtime.“
“The food was absolutely delicious. 100% authentic from Guadalajara. It was like taco-truck-authenticity, but in a sit down cafe. We were in the provo city cemter area for 3 days, and we went back every day for lunch or dinner. We got carnitas taco, Carne asada taco, carnitas verde enchilada, and quesobarria. They were fantastic! There is a salsa bar with a variety of toppings to put on your food like radishes, cilantro, onions, flavored onions, salsa.“
“Love the Adobada (like al pastor but no pineapple) and carne asada fries. Just your classic Mexican asado fries. I like to mainly put green salsa and a bit of the red. Wish they had one up in Orem..Have heard good things about the breakfast burritos but haven't tried em“
“Traveling through town, decided to stop and try Peruvian food. The two gentlemen who took my order and helped package it to go, were very nice and super helpful. The food was fantastic, including the Lomo Saltado, which was my introduction to Peruvian food. Definitely going to stop by again, next time I'm in Provo.“
“Omigosh! We were so happy to find Bajio was still here. There used to be one in St. George and we were so sad when it left. The food here is just as good and the staff is very friendly. Y'all need to open one in St. George. St. George is growing and y'all would be very successful there. The other two restaurants that are similar do not hold a candle to Bajio. Please come back!“
“This place is EPIC!!!!!!! Best green sauce I've ever had. Best hot sauce I've ever had. Best mole I've ever had. The owner is super rad and is very passionate about the food he makes. The strawberry tamale is my new favorite dessert. I've eaten there twice in the span of a week. Every bite is like a party in your mouth that you weren't invited to but then you realize you own the dang house, so you bust on in and to your surprise- it was a dang surprise party just for you! Stop eating at costa vida and cafe rio. This mom and pop is where you need to spend your hard earned money.“
