“My neighbor and I stopped by this hidden mom-and-pop gem, and we’re so glad we did! The customer service was warm and welcoming, and the food, wow. The pancakes were phenomenal: fluffy with crispy buttermilk edges, just perfect. We also had the omelet, French toast, and hash browns, and to top it all off, freshly squeezed orange juice. Tell all of Old Town about this spot. You will not be disappointed!“

“My waitress Ms. Zafirah was great! She was friendly, courteous and helpful. My good however was a problem. I’m 37 weeks prego. I ordered the trifecta with a pancake. Had to send it back 3 times in order to get hot food. Was not happy about the kitchen service but my waitress was nice.“

I don't know why I often think that IHOP is nothing special. This is so wrong because my past dining experience with IHOP is always positive. The most recent, steak tips and eggs, was one of the best meals that I have had in a while.

“We didn't expect a great atmosphere at IHOP. Thankfully the pancakes are always the same - awesome. If IHOP has an issue it's that most every IHOP doesn't do special requests well. My bacon won't be very crispy even if I request it. Also, when I ask for scrambled light they come out scrambled hard like normal.“

For a ward 8 resident and DC native, we take Sunday morning breakfast serious, and nobody wants to travel to PG, VA or cross the bridge for family breakfast. I have been to that IHOP at least 100 times, so I have seen the good and the bad times. I will say this, there is a noticeable difference in the customer care experience. From the attention to detail of the employees, the cleanliness of the restaurant (especially the bathroom), and the friendly staff, I was wholly impressed. I felt safe and ready to spend my hard earned money. I even tipped the waitress 50% because she deserved it. Hopefully the word gets out that it is a good thing to go to the Alabama Ave IHOP and the new owners keep this level of care for us the customers.“

“This place reminds me of Pura Vida Miami. The customer service here is great, really nice staff and ambiance! Just know it can take time to get your order. There’s a good amount of seating too if you wanted to bring your laptop. I’d suggest passing on the matcha, it was a hard sip, next time I’d order food/smoothies- which is what they’re known for.“

“My brother has been visiting this place for years. This was the best meal for the price I had during my visit to DC. Breakfast was way more than I could eat at one sitting. Staff was friendly. (GO DAWGS!) Loved it!

“I love this place so much! It’s a korean couple running the whole place and you cannot get food this cheap and good anywhere else.

The sausages and eggs in the breakfast platter were delicious. Seafood box had such a big portion for the price and the scallops imitation crab and butterfly shrimp were yummy! The scallops in the seafood box were especially meaty and fleshy.

The food was also not overly greasy at all and you can see that most things are cooked fresh and on the spot. The door has bars so it looks like they are closed but they arent. Cash only!!“

“The Chai is my latest obsession! Stopped in while visiting the White House and was blown away. The food was freshly prepared, hot and tasty. Service was fast and friendly. I would definitely frequent this eatery if I lived locally. For now, I am ordering their Chai online.“

“I came out of the metro stop on the way to work and saw this little unsuspecting shop. I decided later that day to go to lunch with my coworkers and suggested this place. There were quite a lot of people in line for these sandwiches, which was a very good sign already.
Reasonably priced and the KBBQ sub is STUFFED with saucy, slightly spicy meat and yummy pickled veggies. The turkey melt is also a popular favorite and my coworker liked it. It made me full for the whole day. I really want to try their bowls next time!“

“My exercise partner and I were looking for a place that wasn't local. We chose this location because it was 4.2 stars and roughly 30 minutes from our house. The first thing we noticed as we got closer to the entrance was that all of the windows in this property had steel bars covering them. I instantly thought, "We will be completely protected inside if there is a riot between the police and gangs outside." I discovered that you need to be buzzed in by the owner to enter the restaurant as I was reaching to open the entrance.“

“I love going to Woodstock mainly to eat here! The food is always amazing and I love that the menu is constantly evolving with the seasonality. I’ve mainly been for dinners but I recently had both breakfast and lunch there and they also were just as tasty. (The sandwiches in particular were really awesome.)“
