“This was a fabulous find. Being the Southern inspired menu, we opted for the fried green tomato appetizer, panko breaded deviled eggs were an unexpected and unusual offering that was phenomenally delicious. We also enjoyed their cajun pasta to round out the meal. We had courteous service from staff that were friendly, responsive and informative and efficient and fun. Very reasonable priced for quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend.“

“The owners were very nice. I had a discrepancy in that I didn’t know how many catfish came with the catfish dinner. The owners were so nice that they gave me extra because it was my first time and because it was a misunderstanding that I had of the menu. The customer service was superb. The sides were awesome. I got mac & cheese and yams. They were really good. Also, the fish was fried very well. Will definitely come again and recommend to friends. Also, they have really really good smelling oils by the way that they sell.“

Honestly, I would have rated everything 5/5 if it weren’t for the buttery taste in the chicken. I wish the chef offered an option to choose between oil or butter for the chicken marinade. The flavor was a bit too heavy for me and my husband. That said, I think it’s an acquired taste, so everyone should try it for themselves.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at The Hitching Post DC. I ordered the grilled lamb chops, mac & cheese, collard greens. The lamb chops are in my top 2 of the best I've ever tasted. I don't normally order mac & cheese when I go out to a restaurant, but this order was perfect as well. The collard greens could use a little vinegar, however, they were still delicious. I will definitely dine there in the near future. The lemon cake had was flavorful, moist and delicious, too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Mac and cheese was a solid effort. Fried whiting was high-quality — the breading was saltier than I like, but I’m a pretty low-salt guy.

The side of greens were amazing — the most complex, thought-through greens I can ever remember having. I saw ham, onions, and red bell pepper brightening a pile that was juicy while impossibly also light and airy. This is the Ph.D of greens!“

“We ordered catering pans from here for 4th of July 2025. Everything was excellent. The turkey wings and gravy are so good. Yams, green beans macaroni and cheese were also delicious. I usually cook myself but needed a break this holiday. All of the food was seasoned well. Not salty just well seasoned and flavorful. Customer service was great and they were very accommodating with my large order. We will definitely frequent this business again.“

“This hidden gem is a MUST visit!! I landed here twice in the same week. I went to a birthday dinner with family and friends. The owners ordinarily would not have accepted a reservation from our size group (about 17 ppl) at the last minute bc they were short staffed however, they welcomed us with open arms, warm hearts, excellent food, and great service. There were only four employees on duty this day, the owner, the manager, the cook, and a server (his first job and first day)🤦🏾. The way we were treated, you wouldn't believe that it was his first job, or first day! He was nervous but very thorough 😃 The manager and owner came out, had great conversations all while assisting with food orders. The food arrived to the tables steaming hot. It was well-seasoned, and very flavorful... just delicious. After our meal, we met the cook. Unbeknownst to us, he was only 26 years old🤦🏾 His food tasted like our southern grandmother's were in the kitchen. The fish, chicken, greens, pork chops, sweet potatoes made your mouth water. I'm tasting the flavors as I type this review😋😋. I might have to ride out today for lunch😃“
